😮I love the star fabric and the Twig and Tale coat would be perfect. I think the navy wool for the shorter jean style jacket is a very modern choice, and paired with the blouse fabric would be perfect for work. A person I used to work with so kindly gifted me some African wax print fabric when he returned home to Africa to visit his family. It would be a precious fabric for me and I was actually thinking something like the Bianca flight suit. Unfortunately due to time I don't think I will be making it for the challenge. Now I'm going to check out that Twig and Tale pattern. Good luck with the challenge!
@@jennetthamilton971 oh wow that’s amazing you have someone who gifted you some African wax print, I think that would be lovely as a blanca flight suit. That’s a pattern I’d like to try someday. I like the idea of pairing the blouse fabric with the navy jacket 😀 xx
Love your necklaces Karen. Love all of the fabrics. I would make something that is going to be easy & something that will fit into your wardrobe, especially for work. I think the navy & white fabric you were gifted would make the Tilly’s blouse or the African wax print into the dress you previously made. Look forward to seeing what you decide. Don’t think I will have time to enter this challenge as sewing up dresses for project dress a girl in September. ❤
Lovely vlog Karen, I really enjoyed it and your fabrics are lovely too! I was just looking at the Bijou wrap/cape from Style Arc (I think) and your double sided fabric would be perfect for it. Also, with your limited sewing time, it would be a very fast make😀 Have a look at it and happy sewing 💕
Try the Coco jacket by Sewoverit if you have it. Didn’t realize so many people recommended it! 😅 It is lined and a simple quick channel type jacket that would be perfect in your navy boiled wool.
Good morning Karen, Debbie here 👋 I haven’t seen the TATB mimi blouse, looks nice. That or the short jacket will be nice.I had a go at changing a neckline from the button up SOI Nicole to a wider neck Peter Pan style collar from a YT video. I have made 3 so far so vey happy it worked. Have a lovely weekend x x
Hi Debbie! It looks a nice blouse doesn’t it, I really would like to give that a go actually and I’ll report back with how it sew up etc. have a great weekend also xx
Thank you so much! Yes I’m really enjoying it and I’m enjoying putting together my work outfits, perhaps I’ll do a month of “what I wear to work” vlog xx
The Hovea jacket would get a lot of wear since you love the first one you made and also the fabric. It's not a very involved make, it's only the bias binding that takes a while, so would be a good choice since you don't have much time this month. I don't have any precious fabric as such, but I do have fabrics I have had for 3 years and several projects with their fabrics that have not yet been made up. I plan to make the Andes jacket by Itch to Stitch.
Sounds like a great plan for you. Yeah I’m the same, just lots of fabric that hasn’t been used really. Unfortunately I don’t have enough to make another Hovea! I tried very hard to fit it on but the sleeves are so wide. So I have another plan for it now and will report back 😀👍 xx
I wish I had the last fabric you showed lol. Their all lovely abd yes I'm in the challenge making the Coda jacket by Love Notions
Ooh will look at that pattern! It’s lovely fabric isn’t it xx
Great vlog as always. Your makes sound like great ideas looking forward to seeing them ❤❤

Another big bead necklace which is flattering and a happy accent to your style! Now I’ll watch for a while …. Glad to see you!
Thanks Nikki!! I just find they fit with so many of my outfits xx
Would love to see the Higgs and Higgs quilted fabric made up, i love that colourway ❤
Thank you! It’s lovely isn’t it. Unfortunately there’s not enough fabric as the sleeves are so big, so I have another plan for it 😀👍 xx

@@SunShine-000 thank you! I will definitely look at that pattern, especially if it’s lined and a simple sew 😀👍 xx
The Coco jacket by SewOverIt is a Chanel type jacket that’s lined. In a wool I would size up.
Thank you. Will look at that pattern and thanks for noting about the sizing up xx

Morning Karen. You could use the sew over it coat pattern to make the wool Chanel type jacket
Oh yes, that’s a good idea! Thank you xx

If you make the Mimi Blouse one and a half meters should be enough but the armcye is small so change up the pattern pieces to fit your measurements 😉
@@noemir8262 thank you so much for the advice about the armsyce, I will make sure to check the pattern pieces before sewing xx
