Those fabrics are perfect for a 70's style dress Karen. Can't wait to see that dress finished.

Aaahh your waistcoat is looking great - can’t wait to see it finished.
I love the toile version of your dressmakers ball dress I really hope you finish it. The dress is going to look amazing in that fabric. I can’t wait to see it.
Fab video - so nice to see you on here - we miss you❤❤❤

Thanks chica!! Yes I will definitely finish the toile, it’ll be nice to wear with jeans in the spring/summer next year. It’ll probably be a wip for awhile though lol. Happy with how the waistcoat is turning out xx

Clever printer and so handy not having to worry about ink cartridges. For the memory bear pattern, I traced mine onto some plastic file dividers I had spare for longevity. I’ve made a few bears now and the pattern pieces are holding up well.

@@MakeMend thank you! That’s a great idea. I have bought some plastic actually to trace mine on to, I’ve just not got around to doing it. Will make things quicker wouldn’t it xx

Great to hear all about the printer ❤. I can completely relate to time struggles and trying to find a balance. The waistcoat will be lovely when it’s done xx

I just love the toile you made for the dressmakers' ball. It's gorgeous! I think the final dress will be a knockout. Great job on the sleeves of the denim jacket. It looked perfect and I hope the gentleman likes it. It's fun to see the variety of things you're working on; I don't think we expect a huge quantity of sewing every week. Looking foward to seeing everyone's upcycled things! Have a great week. :)

Thank you so much! Yes he was so pleased with the denim jacket, which was great as I know how long he’d been waiting to get it done. Looking forward to sharing my dressmakers ball dress. Going to start it next week 😀. I have something in mind for sewupcycle too, nothing too extravagant though lol xx

Now how did i miss that lovely pattern back in the 70's?! It's totally a style I would have worn. I think I see it on my radar for next summer, with maybe a sleeve change. Both fabrics you chose definitely have that 70's vibe. I love that printer, too bad I recently bought a new printer that only uses black ink. My favourite challenge is the uncycle challenge! So many ideas popping in my head! Whatever and whenever you have time to share your sewing and life is worth the wait. Great job on fixing the jean jacket. I run my own alterations business and that is exactly how I would do it.

Thank you Jennett, that’s good to know that you would have seen the sleeves the same way I did for the denim jacket. He was very pleased with it when I dropped it round to him.
It’s a gorgeous dress pattern isn’t it. I’ll get the toile finished for next year, think the top will be nice to wear with jeans. Xx

Hi Karen, what a load of sewing you’ve done considering you are working, as well as all your usual stuff! I love the waistcoat, beautiful fabric, it will work with lots of colours. You are such a star to do alterations for people in your village and the denim jacket alteration is amazing, so professional. I think alterations are much harder to do than sewing from scratch! Good luck with your dress, the toile looks great and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished dress🤩 The little printer looks interesting.

Thanks Deirdre, I’m really happy with how the sleeves went on the denim jacket. I agree alterations are so much more difficult than sewing from scratch. I’ll hopefully get the waistcoat finished by the end of the week. Fingers crossed the final dress goes to plan. Will look forward to sharing soon. I’ve enjoyed using the printer. Hope you’re doing well xx

You might be burning the candle at both ends with all that is on your schedule! Love to see what you’re doing, but do find time to sit quiet with tea and family! Videos sometimes have to wait for boys, bars, toiles, ball dress, workdays and home care! Viewers do understand!

You’re so right. I’ve started sitting and doing some crochet whilst watching a bit of the when the boys have gone to bed, which has been nice. I’ve now finished all my alterations for people so can now focus on getting my bear orders done, alongside my dressmakers ball dress. I’m planning on keeping December free of sewing for anyone so I can enjoy the run up to Christmas without anything playing on my mind xx
