thank you so much Pete glad my truck is running fantastic she’s my baby I definitely take care of it, the boss filters never fail to impress, they are second to none, the best filters to buy for sure.
You're Welcome and Thanks for the oil filter👍
At 5,000 miles the oil looks to be in excellent condition; the internals of his engine should be in very good condition. Lots of miles to go.
Told you! This filter brand is worth the money. The carbon seen there is just the engine carbon build on the piston residual. The filter is doing its job absorbing debries into the crankshaft oil pam which protects engine sludge and contamination.
Even the ONE filters (semi-synthetic media) by Purolator are great! The full-synthetic ones are the best!!!
Like others, this Boss looks well made. Also, like that it's made in the US too. Nice filter. Thanks for the vid.
You're Welcome faxmen09👍
I've been using either Purolator Boss filters or Fram Titanium filters on my 3 cars. I was lucky to score a clearance deal on the Boss at Farm and Fleet, less than $4 bought all 5 on the shelf that fit my Camry!
Also like changing mine under 5k miles with Pennzoil Platinum or Ultra Platinum,. With the rebate deals they run I'll change it a little sooner and not sweat the few extra $'s a year.
That's a Great deal on the Boss filters! Thanks for Sharing👍
I dislike Fram
I really like the BOSS filter, I ran this on my 17 Ram Hemi and it worked great, my engine never had any ticking. I like the can too, feels thick and not like a coke can like some others.
Hi WCW, great video ! This is the one I am using at the moment too. Well constructed and made in the USA. Using this with Mobil One full synthetic oil. I will be using these from here on out. Thanks again my friend and keep the videos coming.
You're Welcome and Thanks👍
My toyotaco sits for most of month. 6 months oil change. Apx. 2000 miles. The boss I opened had 2 leaf springs. Lol, I put it in an alum. Can with magnet to catch bolts and washers. Ps, the magnet caught a small amount of black/silver film. Great filters, for sure!
Excellent combination of the Boss and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.
Yep,👍
Great job. I like numerous checks / videos on the same manufacturers filters. This will prevent manufacturers from trying to cut costs by making the filter more cheaply. Keep up the good work!
Thank You😊👍
This is a well built filter. I really liked the pleat spacing. Another great job.
Thank You👍

I try and make an oil filter inspection video every Friday on this RUclips channel, Thank You!
I use the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30 with the same Purolator Boss PBL22500 on my 2019 Ford F-150 with the 5.0L Coyote. It’s Oz-tuned and still running great at 75K miles.
That's a winning oil and oil filter combo👍
Thanks for Sharing.
When you decide to make an oil filter with the best of everything, you come up with the Purolator Boss. Another terrific review of this thoroughly impressive product. The PB MAY have equivalents on the market, but no superiors.
Thank You👍💯
It's great seeing other GM owners not using Dexos approved oil. I'm sure Ultra Platinum exceeds that rating anyways.
Morning Pete. So I was using the boss filter on my 04 super duty 5.4 2 valve, and changing the oil twice with the same filter. No problems, but for the last couple years I’ve been using motorcraft filters every oil change. You can get them for 4 bucks a piece. No problems, but I know it seems motorcraft have changed so I might go back to the boss. Fl820-s is what it calls for.
Good Moring! Thanks for Sharing👍
Purolator Boss is a good product. Love to see this oil filter compared to the OEM AC Delco Oil Filter.
I'll have to try that match up, Thanks Anish👍
U can tell the owner takes good care of his Chevy. I used (& still is) a Chevy guy, but I noticed Chevy engines get alot of soot. I hope he gets hundred of thousands MORE miles.🖖✊️👍🇺🇸
Direct injection motors unfortunately.
My Dad was a die hard Chevy guy. Probably why all his kids only buy Fords. Haha. No, but really, we do.
@@ajmedeiros77 Yup same with my 2014 F150 3.5L ecoboost. I recently installed a catch can, that will help catch the blow back and keep it running cleaner in the future. I also started changing my oil at 3,500k instead of 5k. With the Boss filters as well.
One of the best looking filters I have seen. It is interesting to note the fact that the minor amount of sludge was absorbed by the filter media, and not on the outside of it. Many of the filters you examine have very little or no obvious sludge in or on the media. Sludge in the filter is a good thing. I always wonder where it is on the filters that show none. That tells a pertinent story. All engines produce a certain amount of it. Keep up the good work, my friend.
Thank You😊👍
The Boss looks like a very good filter, excellent video Pete😊, TFS. 👍
Thanks, Merri
Have a Great Week👍
Purolator Boss filters are the only ones I use.
The BOSS is boss ,even when dealing with the soot & carbon, it doesn't sleep on the job like the orange slob FRAM
LOL😊
Great video. I use the Boss filters too and typically Pennzoil Platinum. The last time I changed the oil on my 07 Tacoma I decided to try the new Valvoline Restore and Protect oil. Maybe I can send you my Boss filter after my next oil change. It my be interesting to see what the filter looks like on an older truck.
Thanks!
Sure I like opening up used oil filters, here's my email, Poker4me007@gmail.com
Great details 👍
Thanks😊
Same one I use on my F150 5.0 Great filter..
😊
Good filter! Thanks for video!👏👏👏👏🫶🫶🫶
You're Welcome👍
The Boss 💪
Well built filter. I'd definitely use them.
Def one of the best filters made. A little pricey but if you like extended oci’s it’s a great choice
I agree
Thanks for your videos.
You're Welcome 👍
Good day
Good to see this. I use this filter or the amsoil as my only filters. Great review pete!! 👍🏼🇨🇦
Thanks 404👍💯
Made in America 👍
I had my BOSS oil filter on for 7 months 12,000 miles on my 01 Suburban with 235K miles !!! Im now running a $3 walmart K&N filter for next 3-4 OCI's !!
THE BOSS
4 months and 5,000 miles is a good OCI ! Motor is in great shape ! Not sure if that engine has AFM " active fuel management " the media caught alot of soot looks great ! Pennzoil ultra platinum is good stuff ! 👍
it’s does have AFM but I have a custom tune, and disabled that, it runs on 8 cylinders 24/7
I think that efficiency rating on the box is 99.9% efficient at 25 microns.
It actually says 99%+. Good micron rating either way👍
I would like to see this filter up against Fram synthetic endurance.
Good Job, Pete! That Boss filter looks good. The oil did it's job and looks used but not used up with no sludging or excessive carbonins. Whatever carbon exists was cleaned out by the oil's detergent package. Great combination Pennzoil Ultra and Boss filters. I should send you a used filter out of the wife's matrix.
Sure send me an email Jim
@@WhipCityWrencher probably be the end of May if her rate of mileage stays the same.
👍
I wish the ultra platinum oil was more widely available. It's not something you can just go pick up at Walmart, at least not for me.
Same with me, so I just use the Platinum.
it’s available at advanced auto parts!!
How do you think this compares to a Motorcraft FL500S? Trying to decide on a filter for my 3.5 EcoBoost.
Here's my 2 cents,
It's been a while since I opened a Mototorcraft FL 500 but unless you see a drop in oil pressure I would take the Purolator boss over the Motorcraft oil filter.
It's such a great looking filter! It's a shame the micron rating is so bad on them 😔
I would say they’re just more honest about their rating, 99% at 25 microns it actually a very good rating and higher than most filters, fram rates their filters at 20 but i really question that and so think the purlator are much better filters.
Soooo bad 😂😂😂 (that was sarcasm) how can you consider 25 microns at 99% bad? And many other filters use sneaky marketing like “up to” etc to scam you. This is 100% synthetic media. One of the best if not the best filter you can buy. Learn something
Rating of 99%@25um, pretty good.
@@ajmedeiros77 Best filter? That's your opinion. Purolators micron # is based off of their huge 30001 filter not the average of all boss filters. Check out Bob is the oil guy online and look it up yourself. You learn something
@@Packersfan373 What makes you think Purolator is honest and everyone else isn't? Do you have proof of that? Fram's micron rating is based off the average of 3 different sized filters. I don't know of any other filter manufacturer that does that.
How do I send in a filter?
Sure, send me an email to, Poker4me007@gmail.com
