I’ve been a fan of the franchise since first seeing The Road Warrior as a child in 1982. I think I was around 9. My only complaint since Fury Road was I wish Gibson could have finished this role that made him. Besides that? Holy shit! We’re so lucky to not only go back into the wasteland but Miller is better than ever. Fury Road is amazing and Furiosa isn’t far behind. The haters are only showing how little they know since Miller started writing Furiosa in 1997. Way before Hollywood went woke or whatever. This is one man’s vision and it’s incredible. Let’s hope Miller stays focused on going forward with The Wasteland. Great video and have a wonderful day!

In many ways, I found Furiosa to be a superior experience compared to Fury Road. The Mad Max universe feels even more expansive and yet more intimate and layered. Furiosa compelled me to revisit Fury Road. An outstanding prequel.

Miller could have just done a retread but this felt like an evolution in some ways. I loved this film. If I want the non-stop boom of Fury Road, I’ll just watch that. This one had some of that and also returned to the old school feel. And this one did not hold back on the violence…

  • @Tenebris_Sint

It’s flawed, but I loved it. For me the relationship between Fury Road and Furiosa is very similar to the relationship between Alien and Aliens. Fury Road and Alien are basically perfect movies which are extremely competent at a simple story. Aliens and Furiosa are both excellent if sill not the nearly flawless first installment. They expand the lore and universe, and in many ways I enjoy the expanded second movie in each series more than the first.
I hope we get a return of Charlize and Tom in 5 years or so to see those characters off as they’ve aged… like we got with Logan.

I really enjoyed it. Watched it twice this weekend which I rarely do with a film. Once I realised it wasn't paced like fury road I could enjoy it more. Initially I found it slow.
Love the world, love the characters. I wish we'd seen a little more of Jack, he was underused.
Hemsworth was good but I think he would have benefited from more disguising, I mean they could have done anything really (maybe a producer decision).
    Things I didn't like:
    - The mad max Easter egg - silly and doesn't look like tom hardy.
    - The rushed link at the end to fury road, not needed and to me seems like a producer decision, link it and everyone will watch fury road. A sense of time passing would have been better as furiosa is clearly older in Fury Road.
    - End chapter was unnecessarily drawn out.

"Chaotic" really is the best way to describe it. Chaotic in a good way with the direction, and sometimes chaotic in a bad way with the script. I get what he was trying to do with the episodic script, and like the idea - I just think he did a somewhat sloppy job of it. I also think the movie should have been edited down by 10 to 15 minutes, but I fear they would have cut my favorite scenes rather than adjusted the pacing through tighter editing.
Still, a good movie that definitely deserves a big screen viewing.

If you connect Fury Road, and Furiosa together, it’s one huge continuous forward , energy driven masterpiece. It was a great prequel. I was very satisfied how the movie was brought together. I didn’t expect that. I watched no review, or opinions, just the trailer. I didn’t want to be swayed, or ruined !

Your analysis of Furiosa is so accurate. 🙌 right down to the tom holkenborg sound track isn't as great in Fury Road. Fury Road is about fighting to save the Brides, and escape to the Green Place. Furiosa is about purpose driven survival and using hate and vengence as the fuel of it. I love Fury Road, it is a superior movie. Furiosa is good, and has its moments, but it is frustrating lacking in what it could have been.

I liked FURIOSA far more than Fury Road. FURIOSA for me was closer to Mad Max originals, in terms of feel, and not taking itself so seriously like the originals, especially Mad Max 2. During Fury road, every time I saw Tom Hardy, I kept wishing for Mel Gibson.

  • @carpeimodiem

I love this film. It has only one flaw. *Did anyone else notice the recasting of the actor that played Slick in Fury Road?* He was recast as Scrotus... Joe's third son. Who died during the events of the Mad Max video game, taking place between the two films. He's a good actor. It would just take me out of the experience whenever I saw him. I had to tell myself that Slick was Scrotus's illegitimate son. Which is why they look so much alike. It was too distracting otherwise.
Dr Domentus was the exact opposite for me. I had absolutely no mental association with Chris Hemsworth playing the role! He completely disappeared into the character. The nose was perfect. But his performance was even better. He should get a nomination for that in my opinion. It was perfect... Perfect in every way... Like my little baby brother!

@@fabolousjada5070 whose cgi hair? Furiosa?? I thought they did a great job with making the shape of her shaved head the same as Charlize Theron's. I understand not wanting the film to rely heavily on cgi. But time marches on. And in order to make everything look like Fury Road... They have to use every tool at their disposal.
I'm sure if they doubled the budget, they could make it even cleaner. And if they made this movie before Fury Road, I think we would've thought it was just as incredible looking as we did when we saw Fury Road for the first time. But when they have to take the story into bigger territory, that budget gets swallowed up so quick. I'm just not sure what else they could have done.

I watched the movie on imax and liked it though I hated the disenfranchisement of men in a series beloved by men. Unfortunately, I think the mad max series will be sunsetted with this financial misadventure and George Miller being too old 79yo. Btw, George Miller is a self avowed male-feminist 😂, a conversion that happened I guess 2 decades ago, so no surprises that he turned keel. The background score wasn’t as iconic. I am surprised not many people are talking about how hemsworth pulled a high.
