I like how there's all this backlash for this movie not doing well, but anyone who actually sees the movie has almost nothing but good things to say about it

Allow me to share my criticism then: I personally thought the movie was a bit rushed it really felt like things shorta just happened and it's bec we are spanning like 19 years throughout the movie I would have liked to see more of the bullet farm or Gastown etc I think the movie should have actually been longer like 3 hours or just be turned into a limited series I genuinely would have watched chapter if it was it's own 2 hour movie

@@alpha_berchermuesli5975 to be clear I'm not saying it's a perfect movie. I'm talking about people dunking on this film who clearly have never seen it, and for reasons that don't really apply.
Legitimate criticism is one thing. Claiming nobody wanted this- when they did; or that it doing bad because of a rejection of some kind of agenda beyond that tickets now are insanely more expensive, that is not.
Maybe not enough people are watching it despite being a good movie. I liked it but there were 10 people in the cinema on a sat night in the main big screen of my town. I booked online and 80% of seats were available fri and sat night. I was expecting it to be packed.
There was a moment between 2 War Boys that I liked. During the first truck chase 2 War Boys are burned by a flamethrower. Just before they die the one boy crawls to his buddy, sprays the silver in both their mouths, they hug, pull a rope launching them in the air, sacrificing themselves and taking out a couple of parachute guys.
That and the moment with the war boy in front of the truck grabbing the dynamite

Having 0 background with the series walking into the movie, we joked about it being flammable deodorant. What was the spray actually?
@@BirbieLittlewing it's supposed to be an inhalant that they're getting high from which helps in a moment of kamikrazee (kamikaze suicide) to do whatever it takes to be Witnessed by the great Immortans in Valhalla. But I love the theory that's it's them really just huffing silver spray paint that Joe said was something more.
THIS is revenge film done right. Most Hollywood films misunderstand that for vengeance to be satisfying it must be about the kill. She literally turned the root of her sadness into a fruitful tree.
This movie is good but I can see how the baggage can cloud peoples opinion of it. I find myself struggling to see it as a MOVIE rather than "Mad Max Lite"
I like how Dementus is a mirror of Immortan Joe. Dementus is chaos and conquest, Joe is order and tyranny. Dementus is obsessed with seeking sensation and living in the moment. Joe is obsessed with leaving behind a legacy.
Dementus mirrors Max too. They both lost their families. Max became a lone road warrior, Dementus became a charismatic cult leader.
Also, Furiosa tattooing the map to her home on the arm she eventually loses was a great idea. And she sacrifices her arm when Jack is killed. She's losing the person she cares about and she has to give up her way home.
That's a nice setup leading to Fury Road where she tries to get home but don't know how without a map.

Idk, I love Kojima but I don't want 5 minutes of gameplay and 20 hours worth of cutscenes in a Mad Max game. I feel the 2015 game was about as good as it'll get.
@@The_Based_Batman considering how much Kojima respects miller as a fellow artist I have no doubt they would be working hand in hand on that project and Kojima would respect the source material and the general style of the franchise

Finally saw "Furiousa" today. It was an afternoon showing, and I was literally alone in the theater. This is sad. I'd read and heard reviews that said the movie was a bit long and sometimes slow. Well, world building takes time, and I found it fascinating and definitely worth my time and money.
Same just got around to seeing it and there was only a dozen people. This was a good action movie.

People need to stop correlating box office success with quality of the movie. Fast and the Furious made 800 million. Challengers made 50 or so.

Man the war rig scene in the mid-point of the movie was epic.
And what a performance from Tom Burke!
I didnt like that scene until I saw it a few times its really a very calculated well constructed scene usually if an action scene is good you love it instantly
Whatever is said about Furiosa, whatever narratives about "Girlbossing" too much or being the end of George Miller or another stake in the chips that is "The end of movie theaters" when it possibly underperforms, I am very appreciative that it exist, still is just as insane as ever, and giving us the thrill of seeing Chris Helmsworth just yuck it up as the big baddie. Worth every penny in my book. WB may have it's plentiful issues, but many props to giving us two solid desert based epics in one year.

Regarding the 3rd brother the actor Quentin Kenihan passed away in 2018 so that's probably why he wasnt shown in the movie

CORPUS COLOSSUS
The actor who played Joe’s third son passed away, that’s why they didn’t recast him. It could also be assumed because he looks like a baby he just wasn’t born yet.
Corpus Colossus is a grown man having an illness that makes look like a child.Also,it was confirmed that he was born before the Apocalypse.
Same with the bulletfarmer, but he was easier to recast. Rip

I saw it twice, too. The first time, there was 1 other dude in the whole theater. The second time, I saw it in DBOX (rumbling tilting seats) and I was THE ONLY ONE.
It's a really good action / revenge film.
This movie is so worth it. Better than fast and furious which is formulaic. Got to see it in cinema but not many people.

I think I read on a wiki that Furiosa became one of the wives and only after she was proven to be barren then she got to do other stuff that lead to eventually driving the war rig. I can see the movie decided not to touch on that at all. She had rapport and sympathy with the wives as she was from the green place of the many mothers anyway without having to bond with them over their shared misery.

Great video. One correction: I think the old lady in the hole outside the Citadel is actually a maggot farmer. Literally... farming maggots from corpses for food.
@@slebsnapz7868 No it’s canon from the game. Max and other Wastelanders are forced to farm maggots from corpses because they’re high in protein and there’s not much else to eat. The old lady in the film was a maggot farmer and thought Furiosa was dying, hence her saying she’ll “make it nice” for her. She’s meaning she’ll make her passing as gentle as possible.

@@slebsnapz7868The game was given a lot of assets from WB that had all of these “plot points” George had come up with already without his knowledge, so yes things from the game are “canon” but it isn’t in the way that you’re implying.
@@alexmeir1312 In the negotiation scene, Demintus mentions he wants "Maggot Mash" from the Cidadel. The maggot were like rice to them.
Furiosa was an amazing movie and I feel like the young furiosa actress should be nominated. She deserves some sort of award for what she did with the character.
Watched it during weekday in empty theatre and I loved this movie
Clarification: Max didn’t help Furious gwt out of the desert. The Old Wretch Woman dragged her into the warrens beneath the Citadel, aka The Maggot Farm, thinking her a corpse. When she tries to get Furiosa to stay with her, it isn’t out of a benevolent sense of chatity, but a delusion: she thinks Furious is dead, and want her to stay dead so she can be at peace- and provide the maggots she and the other Wretched eat a place to feed.
I saw this Fri and freaking loved it !!! I feel like these films are the story of Adam and Eve after the apocalypse. That's why they're all so different. It's the visual oral history of their myth. There's a kernel of truth in the myth.
This movie was amazing, especially in 4DX.

Joes “little person” son actually died IRL Along with the original Immortan Joe actor and a couple more. You should look it up. They all died around C0V!D time from 2019 to 2021.
Not entirely true, they all died between 2018 and 2024, so way before or after the pandemic. Only one, Hugh Keays-Byrne aka Toe Cutter / Immortan Joe, died in 2020 during Covid peak and it was unrelated to the virus. It's even in the video at 17:12 in the credit scene.
To answer your question about Immortan Joe's 3rd son - the actor died a few years ago. No reason you need to know this - except you bring it up like it's an unaddressed missing piece twice. The actor who played Joe also passed away, but he is easier to recast.

sorry, i do understand what you mean as in easier in comparison to recasting the 3rd son, for obvious reasons, but are you saying the first actor for immortan didnt bring much to the character because the costume and voice does the acting, or just the first thing i said?
because if you also agree with the second part, i would have to disagree, hugh keays-bryne was a very good actor, i wasnt a big fan of the new actors potrayal, i dont think it gave hugh's character justice
Quentin passed away in 2018, maybe George didn’t want to replace him with another actor to fill the role of Corpus.
Quentin reportedly contacted Miller in regards to a role, and George wrote him into the story.
I (unexpectedly) enjoyed the movie a lot. Kind of sad that it’s apparently not doing too good…
I blame the exorbitant ticket prices. I was the only one in my friend group that watched this movie in the theater. And even though I told them it's worth their money, they just said they'll wait for it to come out of the streaming services 😢
Undeservedly so. I watched it yesterday and it was good. I wanted to watch it in cinemas but I had to wait for it to be in the streaming flatrate for free. People just don't have that much money lying around to spend in this economy. If you have to decide between this weekend's food or cinema, it's not a choice. It's the sad truth.

I loved furiosa!!! Amazing film equal to fury road. They are very different types of film though where fury road is essentially a chase film with charqcter develolment...furiosa is a chaptered saga and world building epic.

I didn’t share your enthusiasm for this one but your breakdown gets me interested to go back and watch them all so that I can appreciate Furiosa more. The stunts just didn’t feel as grounded as the last installment and that was a disappointment to me. And imho it was 25 min too long. Maybe I’ll give it another shot though 👍

The actor of Immortan Joe's son Corpus Colossus Quentin Kenihan sadly died in 2018 at age 43. That's why he couldn't rejoin the cast in Furiosa.

I love this movie and Fury Road SO MUCH. I didn't catch that Valkyrie was both the little girl friend and who she met again when she came back as an adult. Wonderful.
I also noticed the overlap with the video game (which I agree is rad). The movie did poorly, I think came out at a loss... so I'm sad we probably won't see the other prequel. :(

Furiosa is very good, as a movie and as a prequel. The WB videogame adaptation, which is excellent by the way, fits perfectly between the two movies, I don't know about the comics, but this is how you do a multimedia franchise.
Isn't it odd that Immortan didn't went crazy looking for the disappeared Little D?
I also thought the Teddy Bear would provoke something to Dementus, or he would say something about it.
Although I liked the movie, the environment and pace didn't feel as Fury Road's. And some scenes were clearly soundstaged, which took me out momentarily.
So, to me, it didn't reach the same level.
It was a random chaotic mess. Most people in the theater didn't even understand the plot because there wasn't even a plot. It was just one action scene after another with no explanation as to why they are even battling each other.
It was amazing. I personally like it even more than Fury Road. It's such a shame it tanked.

Now it will get no nominations, no sequels, nothing.
As a villain dementis was 10 times better than immortin Joe I mean he might seem like he's incompetent but in reality he took over gastown and the ammo farm as well which then he would have had mostly all the resources to take out citadel.. even outside of that one crew defecting from them he had enough resources in men to be an actual threat.. also don't put it past him that he didn't set up that group to make it seem like he couldn't hold things together
