The X gets a lot of stick from supposed Evo fans for not being a 'proper Evo' but when you look at the improvements it brought.
Completely new chassis, far stiffer than the IX.
Completely new lighter all alloy engine that will handle big power.
SST gearbox option that Subaru owners could only dream of.
The car is also pretty light when compared to other cars of the time, the FWD only Focus RS MK2 was heavier the the Evo X despite all the extra hardware underneath.
It's just a pity we didn't get the Evo XI & XII we should of had, imagine the extra development we could of got had Mitsubishi had the money to finish the generation properly.

Had the top caliper carrier bolt fall out of my brake while on the highway once. The ominous *tink, tink, rattle, rattle, rattle, ka-CHUNK* as the bolt fell out, the caliper fell forward and jammed inside the barrel of my wheel, grinding it to a halt as I frantically pulled the car over to the shoulder of a off ramp was quite the experience.

I had one of these with 670whp on pump, fully built and sleeved stroker motor, gears, big turbo, great fun, but never again. It's extremally weird for me watching that rpm dial sweep that slowly and for the pitch to be that low in the exhaust. Then again...dumped wastegates and 8700rpm redline changes the tone a bit. This lap was very nostalgic for me and bitter sweet. I miss the car, but I don't miss the car...

By dint of watching misha's videos, I have come to a point where indeed, a good naturally aspirated engine, very lightly prepared, is the must to use on the circuit... or a turbo engine closer to stock than to preparation. .. and this for the sake of my wallet and my brain

I once ripped off my right inner fender at 240-250kmh ... it felt like the tire blew out but I somehow still had control.. the thing is at those speeds the wind resistance is so high, that anything that is not 100% bolted down, the wind will get underneath and rip it off...which was my case, the fender screws were slightly loose, I knew it and had forgotten about it..then at 250kmh the wind got under them and ripped everything off big time.

      Sweet!
I'm assuming most modern wheels have feedback?
What about the pedals, is there brake feedback?
There are some craaaaazy sims out there.

I wonder if this car had a stock alignment or whether he flipped the essentric control arm bolts? The evo x give the options of 1° or 2° of front camber depending on bolt positioning

Be cool to watch Misha drive a 8G Galant VR4 manual with better brakes and more HP (or on a diet or both) round the 'Ring.

Misha, any issue for you going from right hand to left hand manuals? I would struggle shifting with my left hand.

For 400 bhp, it doesn't seem that fast, feels like after 100mph it really falls flat.

It’s the transmission ratios. 5th gear is too long.

Just a little scare 😐I think the thin and flappy mudguard got caught by the tyrel's aggressive thread and it somehow snatched the wheel liner too
