I remember like it was yesterday. There was even a “farewell project” after EunB’s and RiSe’s passings, especially when the two of them were incredibly close on the level of sisters. 💔 You drew a black heart onto the palm of your hand and posted it on social media to honor the girls. I took a part of this project and even though I didn’t folllw LC, as a part of the Kpop community, we all mourned together.
Wendy's accident due to SBS' negligence was definitely viewed as a dark moment, but PSYCHO is by no means viewed as a dark spot in Red Velvet's discography. That song was quite simply a juggernaut that couldn't be stopped. Up until that point, the highest charting and most successful release by a girl group in 2019 was ITZY's debut song "Dalla Dalla." PSYCHO annihilated it. What that song accomplished with zero promotions is staggering and will never be duplicated.
PSYCHO was truly the ultimate gag... the year was about to end when the girls dropped this beast of a bop and stole the whole entire ‘show’ from everybody that year. CRAZY. Probably their biggest hit with the kpop community, I feel like everybody loves that song.
I cried for a long time after the Ladies' Code incident. I absolutely loved them and their retro sound. It was the darkest moment for me as a kpop stan.
The Ladies Code tragedy changed my outlook on kpop. I’d heard so many stories about the dark side of the industry and after this, I actually stopped listening to kpop for many years.
@@Awakening_Sunshine I remember it was my early years of being a K-Pop fan and I was on Ent Asia when I first read it (back when the forum was good). The whole forum just stopped and everything was about hoping Rise would make it. When we heard that she died...it was so heartbreaking.
We NCTzens don't see Superhuman as a stain on NCT 127's discography. We adore that song and it's one of 127's best title tracks to date! We are still pissed that Korean fans purposefully sabotaged the group they claim to love, all because of animosity. If you're mad at SM, boycotting can help make your message clear, but it also harms the very group you're trying to help.
Some of these comebacks weren't actually ruined. Many of them simply weren't promoted in the end. Psycho ended up doing amazing on the charts without promotions and ppl have been waiting forever for EXO's comeback so it is definitely not ruined. Not to mention, the whole IU thing, didn't hurt her popualrity at all.
They were technically ruined in the sense of not being able to do something or having the attention taken from it. Exo's comeback was definitely ruined considering the scandals it had before its release and Kai being forced to go to the military when he could've done it and then go but we know the biggest hater was SM with the tampering of sales. IU is literally untouchable, she has done a few things that would've had other idols cancelled.
I remember there being a lot of talk about Unions for Idols (and the industry at large) when the Ladies' Code tragedy happened; both managers and idols shouldn't have schedules that can lead to those kinds of situations - safety and health should come before making promotions. Unfortunately as far as I know, those talks have really dried up. I understand what you mean when you say that it changed the k-pop industry forever, but it didn't change the indutry enough IMO. I'm absolutely terrified of something like this happening again, because as far as I know, there has been no effort to change anything. I'm not sure what _can_ be done, but we're talking about loss of life here, there are few consequences that are worse.
What happened with NCT 127 just seems petty to me. Don't fans want their idols to get more famous worldwide? SM works to promote NCT 127 in America, and domestic fans boycott them. That's wrong. You might not like the tactics used, but the goal was to make the group more famous. It would have benefited them, the comeback could have been huge, but you mad because this one time Korean fans weren't the priority. That's petty.
i guess well never know how they think like that [i mean unless we try examining their brains lol]. too bad superhuman was the best ilichil song for me and the comeback was not celebrated enough.
it's beginning to happen more these days, Ateez, stray kids and more groups are having Kfans even ask to not visit other countries or go on tours outside of korea. I'm not kidding when I say this. Ktiny is the worst in this asking for fan service when not even voting for ateez because ''they aren't popular in kore so it's no use''. Multiple middlefingers were thrown during bouncy promotions unseen by the camera ofcourse. Ateez is so done being mistreated in their home country and now the fans are asking for fanservice for not even doing the bare minimum or doing anything at all. It's getting worse and worse. K-fans are definitely different this generation. It used to be : ''YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES THEY'RE GOING INTERNATION WOOOHOOOOOW NOT ONLY KOREA ANYMORE'' to: ''PLEASE DON'T TRAVEL OR PROMOTE OUTSIDE OF KOREA WEEEEEEEEEH I DIDN'T VOTE FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU TRAVELED OUTSIDE OF KOREA'' it's getting childish. K-tiny and I-Atiny literally have a fanwar of their own fighting with K-tiny because of how toxic and damaging k-tiny is. So sick of winning with ''10 points''........
i would also add aoa’s good luck comeback, the group was at the top at the time but after the controversy of jimin and seolhyun, and the decision of the agency to continue with the comeback, the song ended up not working out as they planned and the group never gained back that popularity…
I wouldn't say the EXO comback is ruined. It's a shame that Kai won't be involved in promotions and other MVs, but I don't think that will hurt the comeback as a whole. Fans have been waiting for this comeback for so long that they will support it.
Yes Zico surely did face a shit ton of backlash for his song "Tough Cooke" but when he somewhat rebranded himself in a way and he released "any song", I would consider this as his redemption arc.
Monsta X actually released an album 4 months after the Wonho incident. He had lines on every single song but was left out of the MV's. He was officially listed in the credits for the album, but they put the members' names on the back of the album and his was left off. He was also not in the pictures or photocards. It was weird.
If you do a part 2 you could include Lee Hi No One ft B.I. The drug accusations and him being forced out of iKON happened in the middle of the song’s promotions and suddenly her live stages for it ended up being her alone

I find it so funny how the public reacted with the CBX scandal compared to TVXQ. To this day, people are divided between TVXQ and JYJ when they had the total right of suing the company for everything they did. If Changmin and Yunho felt betrayed, it was up to just them, not for anyone else to feel like the other 3 members should've stayed when their money was supporting everything they did, even backup dancers and had slave contracts. Clearly SM didn't learn a single thing in all these years of managing ground breaking groups and I really wonder how things are being managed now that their groups are divided into different managements.
Maybe let's not call the EXO comeback ruined before it even happened. I don't think fans were mad at CBX and would have supported the group anyway and now that the issues are resolved, all the better. Of course it's sad that Kai can't promote with the group (what a mess that was), but that alone won't ruin the comeback, as there have been comebacks with missing members before. About sexual artistry and all . there's difference in sensual, sexy concept and in soft porn ,arousal, provocative ness...u don't see arousal and provocative in men one .but in women .and also normally women are used for getting attention of people towards their group by making them look seducer and sexy only...means it just addition in women showing as object only ..
Kai was forced? Kai was 29 at the time, unlike BTS, Kai didn't have anything to keep him away until 30, the fact he tried to delay it for much longer showed the kind of man he is, the fact he wasn't fined for avoiding over 28, literally between 18 and 28.
He was forced. He had to go this year, but it was planned to be later, so that he could have one last EXO and a SuperM comeback. Don't make it a stupid rumor.
i love EXO but i personally think the only thing that ruined EXO comeback is Sehun. i dont hate the guy but he hasn't improved much all these time. the moment his part began in cream soda, it brought down the already mediocre song. other members sang and danced beautifully, particularly the CBX members, D.O, Suho and Kai. PCY seems weaker this time round considering his great vocal skill, he could be better. the maknae however, i dont know how to describe him without being hated or misunderstood by EXO or his fans. goodluck otherwise.

8:36 Monsta x 'follow' i am monbebe/wenee and until this day .. still hurts .... 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺i know both parts they doing well but i want them again together, all 7 ... love them....
When EXO still collecting a lot of new fans during their long hiatus = "EXO is already on rocky ground" 😂yeah right.
I mean, they didn't lie but it's not because of them, but because of their company. There was literally everything in front of the company to make the group achieve new levels of success and they decided to drop the ball on them.
EXO Comeback hasnt even happened yet. Please calm down. Please use your words carefully. Other than that, great video, Thanks!
That Was Amazing Video
i cant lie i stop listening to monstaX when they kicked out Wonho
Omg
🕺🏻💨🐺
yahh, firsttt
Kai was forced?
Kai was 29 at the time, unlike BTS, Kai didn't have anything to keep him away until 30, the fact he tried to delay it for much longer showed the kind of man he is, the fact he wasn't fined for avoiding over 28, literally between 18 and 28.
Also their was nothing to say for the Lawsuit against SME being real, I highly believe it was to cause attention to EXO
He was forced.
He had to go this year, but it was planned to be later, so that he could have one last EXO and a SuperM comeback.
Don't make it a stupid rumor.
@@Ha-young_is_Just_Too_Fine Oh ok nevermind, you're that kind of person...
i love EXO but i personally think the only thing that ruined EXO comeback is Sehun. i dont hate the guy but he hasn't improved much all these time. the moment his part began in cream soda, it brought down the already mediocre song. other members sang and danced beautifully, particularly the CBX members, D.O, Suho and Kai. PCY seems weaker this time round considering his great vocal skill, he could be better. the maknae however, i dont know how to describe him without being hated or misunderstood by EXO or his fans. goodluck otherwise.
That's funny considering Sehun's part is so hyped even among no fans.
