I like this version better to be honest. It really heightens the anticipation of the event to watch a man stare into the darkness for 2 minutes, knowing what's to come, and knowing he's probably thinking something like "I'm about to do the hardest run of my life…" Plus, you get to hear everyone clapping at the end. That part gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

If the conductor asks you for your ticket you need to show it but i have never seen a conductor there.

However the last 5km is in a dense populated area with stops every 300-400 meters (And a lot of traffic). So that is where the bike has the advantage.
