Translation: "Honestly this weathered wallet looks better than when it's new lol"
(probably an auto-correct issue)
Absolutely. I wish ridge would sell copper plates for the refresh kits. I want to weather them myself and see how they turn out. Sucks for a lot of the good colors you have to buy the whole damn wallet
I love the way the wallet “wore” in
Yea it look kinda cool
This is what i call an "honest to god review" thanks man. I think I will get this wallet for christmas because of your review.
Did you buy one? I just don't see how it's worth $75? Having to sift through the cards seems annoying but maybe you just get used to it?!
@@Mandy_39 I got a knock off and maybe it's just me but I noticed how little cards I needed. So firstly my cards that I carry with me was reduced and secondly it's really not that hard you either get used to it or don't even notice it at first but basically what you do is put like 1-2 important cards from both ends and then your life is easy. My friend got a genuine carbon fiber ridge he's loving it and my knockoff is perfect too it cost me 5$ but is basically the same product. I don't mind at all.
@@Mandy_39 you dont sift through them u pinch the bottom and all the cards spread out you can easily grab the middle card with no effort i got the nee ember carbon fiber one for 140 using a 15% off coupon they give u spent around 128 after taxes. Cards you have a issue.

Debit card
Credit card
Costco/sams club card

Thats all you need u do not need 5+ gift cards and junk. Cash strap hold cash if you need it thats fine i rarily have cash. Only time is if i pay for the group and they give me in cash i just bank it. If u travel or need coins for parking meters they have a card sized coin tray that fits it can hold more coins than u need(tho u can just keep the change in your car) 🤷♂️
@@johnymcmuffins7898 it just seems like you gotta sift through cards lol. Thanks for all the info & letting me know! I'm a woman but never have carried a purse cuz I hate them & really only have what u listed lol. I usually get a bifold wallet but they just look like crap after awhile so definitely trying to find something new! Maybe I'll try it out, seems so expensive but then again if you don't gotta keep buying new wallets each year it is probably saving money lol. Thanks!
@@BroDude0 lol why would you say such things
$150 for it is crazy. I don’t see where they have to charge $150 for it. Doesn’t look like they spent $10 manufacturing it.
They sell the replacement elastic but if you email them it's actually covered in the warranty! They threw me some free replacement screws as well. I'm on year 4 with mine and couldn't be happier!
How wide is this wallet. Does cash fit even side to side with just a one fold or does it take a double fold on the cash to keep it from hanging over the edge.
My leather wallet is somehow the same size and lasts WAY longer. Ridge is overrated. Imagine buying a wallet that only lasts a year. F$&@ that!
Nathan, thanks for this, should be helpful for others on this video! I encourage you subscribe to my to my channel for more reviews and tutorials of awesome Gear!!!
I would hope, a year isn’t very long
I bought mine in 2015. No problems at all besides the elastic card holder that loosened a bit after 7-8years. Since I bought mine before they provided lifetime warranty and my elastic bands are different when they first started making them, they honored my purschase and offered to send me a new wallet for free! Awesome company.
My man got the whole galaxy on his wallet lol!
I’ve had mine for less than a year... I only carry 4 cards. Didn’t think I’d like the strap so I got the clip also. Ended up really liking the wallet and the strap. Got the carbon fiber variant. Have a Merry Christmas
How’s the durability been with the finish? Do you keep it in the same pocket as your keys?
@@birdie5 I keep a smallish folding knife in my rfp along with the walllet... the metal on the strap scuffs the knife but no scuffs on carbon fiber. No keys or coins in that pocket, hope this helps. Merry Christmas

i feel like ridge wallets were like $40 3 years ago. at the current price im just gonna stick to my rubber band
YOO I stg like I just checked right now and I was like wtf so expensive
Made in China at made in USA prices
Rubber band...what a baller.
Haha good point! There are actually some good wallets that compete with ridge now at much better price points. My channel reviews them on a regular basis. Feel free to subscribe and follow along!
Easy fix for the screws. Take one out at a time and put a dab of blue lock tight on them. They will never fall out but you can still unscrew them to change the elastic bands.
Or use some clear fingernail polish on the threads.
Very true my wife had got me one for fathers day, I did the same thing blue lock tight for the win, I have plenty of it since I keep it on hand for all my red dot screws.
Red loctite would be almost permanent.
Your wallet looks good for being worked so hard - like the scratches, they add character and show it's a real quality product. Getting a carbon one now, hope it holds up as well!

I’ll stick to leather wallets
Nice! There are a lot of good minimalist leather ones out nowadays. I've looked at many on this channel!
fraying elastic; better to sear it with heat rather than cut
You talk as if you are bored out of your mind and want to get this video over with as soon as possible lol xd
If it's priced as a classic wallet and you prefer its design, sure, why not. But as it is right now - overpriced and with included in the price tag non-stop marketing, it's the dumbest purchase on the planet. I'd rather be inconvenienced and keep those $100-200 bucks a pop in my pocket. Money on their own are the slimmest. 🤣 Also, there's money clips and business card holders. 🙄
Wanted to know, with the RFID blocking, your scan/door entry card you put in by itself there, would the RFID blocking stop the functionality of that scan/door card from being picked up if you just pull the wallet out and run it across the card reader?
I would imagine it would stop a card from being scanned in all fashions.
Yes, this wallet will 100% prevent that.
You can install two money straps or clips (one on either side). Just out ur ID in one.

Great review and points! How do you feel about your money being visible like that compared to a standard wallet where your cash is not visible? Thanks
You don’t need to tighten them monthly. All you need to is is one time, take the screws out, put a little loctite on them, and put them back in. Did this on my Ridge wallet that I got 7 years ago and no screws have been lost.
Good feedback John. lots of commenters have said the same thing. You live and you learn, glad people out there are sharing their tips and helping me out :)

I don't know anyone who still uses a ridge wallet, they don't last, scratch cards and aren't much better than knock offs that cost 1/10th the price.
I appreciate the review!!! Your review makes it clear that the Ridge is not the wallet for me...having to stack the credit cards as you have them will be difficult for me to deal with, especially when I need to pull out a specific credit card expeditiously...pulling all the credit cards out in order to get to one is a little perturbing for me. Thanks, Great Review!!!!

I want to get one for my husband for his birthday. He has paper id cards in his wallet now, would he still be able to use the wallet for that purpose? Thank you!
The wallet I have now cost me $6 this leather has a money clip I got it at a flea market in Quartzsite AZ that was about 10 years ago .

@@GearRules great response and fair enough 👍
Another review I watched mentioned that they had some trouble with cards with embossed letters and numbers, that other cards could "stick" on them when putting them in the wallet. Would love your thoughts on that! Thanks!
I’ve had cards stick a bit. It’s something you get used too. The band is tight enough that the friction on the cards especially with the numbers does have them stay together. But you get used to fanning them out with your finger
@@GearRules Thanks for the response!
I got the carbon one with red flakes, fitted with elastic but clip, screws and screwdriver came with it. I thought it was a waste of money at first but I’ve been using it for six months and like it. I have a driver’s licence and one bank card in it, which are securely held. NB I also ordered the coin tray but never need it.
...My Flip Side is Much Better ...Plus I Have Cash Left Over to Put in it..
I don't like the product for the simple fact the cash is exposed like that. Theres no specific "slot" for a particular card.
PITA. You gotta practice how to use your wallet. What's next... practicing how to breathe?
Love the Ridge, had a couple yrs
If I buy this wallet I won't have anything to put in it they're so expensive.
Haha i totally get it! It's not cheap! I encourage you subscribe to my to my channel for more reviews and tutorials of awesome Gear!!!
How come we didn't see the excessive wear on the cards? My wallet destroyed all my credit cards and drivers license.. from constant friction.. i got rid of it! Not a good wallet for working man.
With all due respect, this is stupid. It’s 2 chunks of metal and a rubber band. No security, no organization.
just ordered a titanium black matte one
Awesome! Enjoy
i like dat man looks space like wit all da scratches gives it character
Yea I think this is more for people that use apple pay or Google pay. I'll stick with my bifold wallet. I don't buy the cheap clearance bifold wallets so I get a pretty good lifespan out of them. So I think I'll stick with my bifold. But great review

i bought my first ridge wallet and it lasted me 6 years, could’ve lasted longer but i bought a new forged carbon fiber one. i love my ridge wallet!
I got a knock off a few months ago. It's been great but Santa knew I had to step up my front pocket game so I got a ridge and the money clip. I just added the clip. So far, the ridge is legit. I recommend the ridge.
I carry a lot of cash sometimes. Not sure about this one.
Thanks for the review. I have the titanium gun metal and been using it for 8 months. Some minor scratching from keys and two drops from pocket height. Works great and looks good even with som surface scratches.
Thanks for the feedback, that will be helpful to others! Don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more tutorials and reviews of neat products.
How does the lok with wear and tear?
Good review. Thanks. A little blue loctite on the threads of those screws should fix the escaping screw issue.
But with loctite on the screws it would make it near impossible to remove them. When you wear out the strap or deicide to attach an accessory like a money clip, you will need to remove screws to do those tasks.
You could try a bit of clear nail polish instead.
Doesn't take near as much force to break but will stop vibrations from working a screw loose
Can i put my new money clip ridge wallet on my pants back pocket?
I'm intrigued by these but wouldn't a piece of metal in your pocket be uncomfortable?
Good question! In my opinion it depends on how thick you go. If you have ~5 cards and some cash, I hardly notice it in my pocket. However, I typically have my wallet in my front pocket... I wouldn't have this wallet if it it was in my back pocket. Hope this helps!

what about cards being together.. doesnt that make them fade over time with the pressure of cards being pressed together?
Yeah there is some degree of that, but nothing super noticeable for me vs. using them in card readers etc.

Throw some blue loctite on them screws and they won’t come out until you want them to

@@GearRules subbed buddy 😎
I have had mine for a year or so, maybe a bit less. I really like it, the size is unbeatable. Getting cards out of it can be a pain though, particularly the cards in the middle of the stack. I have to push all of the cards out in some cases to get to the middle cards, which is a pain to deal with and putting the cards back is also a pain if you are in line some where checking out.
This is what's preventing me from getting it. I just think it would be a pain sorting through cards to get the one I want.
I live in a country where the paper bills are smaller than the US, so I dont know if this would help or not but I noticed when you were talking about cash not falling off from the money strap the bills actually wiggle left and right, but I'd recommend trying to fold the bills into smaller pieces so that the width of the cash are not wider than the body of the wallet itself
Great point! I've been using other wallets with similar straps and I have been folding them into 3rd or 4ths, so this method definitely works!
DO PEOPLE STORE DRIVER LICENCES IN THEM
I personally do!!! Hope this helps people. Sorry for the late response
Great review, really thorough! Was wondering how many folded up bills can legitimately fit in the strap?

A wallet that requires practice and maintenance. Why do people like this thing? Only cuz of its size?
fair point. It's a lot smaller, protects your information, it's new and gadgety. It doesn't take a ton of practice. People like different things I guess.
That strap on looks good.

Just got mine in today. This wallet is shockingly tiny. Literally no bigger than a credit card. No reviews are mentioning that. Not that it's a bad feature or anything. It's just so small.
Hope you like it. It is super small, I'll be sure to mention stuff like that in my other videos thanks for the feedback!
Uhhhh…..you can SEE that in the review….no?

Good review but 60 to 130 for a wallet and u have to do maintenance on it? That thing better last for ten years. I prefer classic wallets. Money outside a wallet always makes you have to double check if you dropped anything
About the paint: Aluminum does not hold on to paint well. I have tent spikes made of aluminum and the paint wears off of those just from rubbing into the dirt. I would be interested in seeing how their titanium wallets hold their paint, better or the same.
