Longtime “lurker “ here. 🥰 Never commented before. Love that you enjoy helping people feed their families/loved ones, like me. A big “thank you!” to both of you. ❤️ From CA, USA.
Christy I love your apron!!! It’s so pretty 😍 thank you for another great video!! I’m going to make that pineapple fried rice soon!!! I have been very busy making freezer meals lately, and I am so very grateful to you both for all of your hard work. If it wasn’t for you guys and your videos I would never have started on this journey!!! I owe you!! ❤❤
Thank you. I made this apron. It's reversible. I'll try remember to wear the other side and point it out soon. And I'm so glad we're helping you make freezer meals! It really is a great way to eat, save money, save time, etc. enjoy the Pineapple Fried Rice! It's a great dish!
Agree, LOVE the apron and love that it’s homemade and reversible. My 6 year girl just caught a glimpse of the video and said, “that apron is so pretty!!” She’s my little helper in the kitchen including freezer meals ❤
When I make a big meal now, I make it into two smaller meals. My husband and I eat one and freeze the other. We cannot eat all of the meal now because it is just us. Our last child is getting ready to graduate high school, and she is never home. When she eats she eats very little. I put the meal in a foil container, wrap in foil, then place it in a freezer bag. We then eat the rest. I also freeze a lot of leftovers. If we do not eat it for lunch. I watch what we have leftover nightly, so we have very little food waste.
Very smart! I just had that realization last night, you know the one, where my youngest will be in highschool next year. I sometimes wonder what our lives will look like in five years. Will they live at home while going to uni? Will they be far off and I'll have to make smaller portions for my husband and myself? I look forward to this next season but part of me is dreading it. Lol
That is cool! I like the Combo Meals. I think you should do a mix and match session. Would be great for individuals to not have the same thing every day of the week. Chicken with rice. Chic w/ pasta. Beef w/ mashed pots, Beef w/ rice....How fun that sounds. It would be a fun thing to think about. I like it!
Wohhhh.. thank you so much..its so practical and helpful for working mommy😍😍😍...the main thing i love on both you is how you explain to us how to bake or cook those meals after freezing that's most important than the recipe itself 👌👌🙏🙏💚💚👏👏👏👏
I call leftover days “island dinner”. It sounds so exotic and everyone always laughs and asked me what it is, I just tell them I put all the leftovers out on the island.😅
Yeah give it a try! It's not that hard to make. Raw tomatoes go a bit watery and mushy when freezing, so you may want to use canned or cooked diced tomatoes or cook your salsa to mimic salsa in a jar. Cooked tomatoes are also watery and mushy, so you could probably skip that step but it's something I just wanted to point out. Good luck with it. Let us know how it goes. :)
One thing I don't understand: when making the food in bags, you emphasize to squeeze out the air. But if you use the hard plastic containers, you can't get the air out of them. Is there a trick to using those?

During the last 30 min of the pork add chopped cabbage. Yum!

Yes it would!

Oh that is going in my vocabulary right now! I don't have an island but I might think of something exotic like that! Haha!
I like to lurk 😂❤
The apron 😂❤
I made it! It's reversible! I love this apron so much! 😍
I thought my Mom invented Leftover Buffet - we didn't call it that, it was just Saturday Supper!
I wanna make ginger salsa chicken. Salsa is not a common thing here in Singapore. I might make salsa from scratch 😅

How do you get your labels to stick? Mine all fall off in the freezer. Tried packaging tape, didn’t work.
We use either Avery or staples brand shipping labels. We never seem to have a problem. Maybe add them to your bag before filling it?
I call leftover night, "mish mash supper".

Yes, for the containers, you lay plastic wrap directly on top of the food before placing the lid.
