    Are you preparing for the California International Marathon? If so, I hope this video which includes some of my top recommend running tips will help you make that next big leap in your running. Focus on consistent training over 12 and preferably 16 weeks in length and you will make significant gains.
    Remember, it isn’t just about physical training but mental preparation as well. The best middle to long distance runners are spending approximately 40% of their weekly volume at or below goal race pace.

    Thanks Nathan! When I ran Boston last year I saw that is a fast course if you are prepared for that course, for me the key to run faster in those courses (as a trail run that I was running in my country some years ago) is maintain glucosa level up with 80 gr of carbs/hr and be strong with isometrics workouts and obviously doing enough rolling hills tempo runs.
    Regards!

      Thanks so much and good luck at that race. My PR was run there back in 2007 (4th). Wishing you all the best Joe and know you will do awesome. Watch your pacing in that first half. Once you hit the 10 mile mark you are going to make a right hand turn and there is a sweet downhill that last for about 200-250m right as you pass it..my favorite part of the course. Good luck out there and have fun

    Hello again, state meet has concluded day 1. And I ran the dmr as the 1200 meter leg and we got all state! 3:15 was my time, not mad about it but I know I did my part. Mile race is Tomorrow

      @@rundreamachieve hey I’m back again, the mile race was a disappointing performance. Went out very quick but I think my experience wise got the better of me, I was thinking of going in the middle of the pack but then after 400 at 62 I was feeling good which turned out to be a horrible decision, I was good for like 3 laps of the race and then I faded hard. Ended up running a new personal best with a time of 4:33, very disappointing but gotta enjoy the ride and just move on. But one question, how long should a runners take off of running before returning to easing back into it again?

    • @rundreamachieve
      @rundreamachieve  2 года назад +1

      @@sebasramirez1812 Hey man, 4:33 is nothing to be ashamed of, that is a legit time and it was indoors too right? 62 is quick off the first lap but sometimes you just have to see where you are at. 66-67 might have been a better move but you can't go back and change anything now. Be happy that you are fit and healthy and ran a VERY quick mile AND indoors. Perfect prep leading into the outdoor season. I would take a week off completely. You won't lose any fitness. Enjoy some down time and then start your build up for outdoor season. Well done!

    • @sebasramirez1812
      @sebasramirez1812 2 года назад +1

      @@rundreamachieve yes it was indoors, hopefully by outdoor season I will lower that time below 4:25 but I have to stay consistent and train smart, key to success as I’ve learned these first 2 years. Will tell you how my first meet goes in about a month or 2 so see you then!

    next week, do you think I should start doing my tempos at 6:50 mile pace or should I start with around 7:20-7:30 and work my way down? This is considering the fact that I am presently a 3:30 marathoner and my avg heart rate for my 3:28:55 marathon was 166 (according to my watch), and that initially my tempos will just be 3 miles before I start to lengthen them out. Thanks!

    Just signed up for CIM for my first marathon. Looking to see what program you have best fit me. I fail at workout plans every single time. Can’t seem to stick to plan and do better with group runs.
