The very last piece sounds like a recap from the beginning in Waltz dance form.
Grieg had an awesome melodic and harmonic inspiration. The whole set of "Lyrical pieces" looks like a garden in which each flower is different from another one.

They are such an unending joy!
This was one of my favorite listening experiences of all time. Grieg and Austbo collectively created some of the most outstanding poco a poco cresc and decresc imaginable for solo piano. After listening to the complete cycle I couldn’t help but think Grieg(and perhaps Austbo) was a dance enthusiast. I’m an experienced ballroomer and I accompany college level ballet, modern and contemporary dance classes on piano. Every note of this Grieg cycle would be suitable for those classes.💋💋💋💋💋

OMG! Over decades I listened to terrible interpretations like those of Eva Knarrdall and Walter Gieseking and loved them. All of them melancholic. What I thought is nordic.- Håkon Austbö really shifts the Lyrical Pieces to an consoling, upchearing delight, revealing all the elegance inside Griegs music. His nonchalant, rhythmical approach makes so much sense, makes me happy. A musical picture book. - Will only listen to him now. For the next ten years... as I know me.
My wife revealed this to me. Most conductors play the Norwegian March at a moderate pace whereas Fiedeler (on an old recording) does it briskly. It's the only one I can listen to now.
This is absolutely wonderful.
