Y’all know I LOVEEEE to make clothing from things you shouldn’t make clothing from hahaha! This one is fun but I did happen to choose some more fabric like options. What can I say? I was in a rush haha! It was a fun ride and honestly I’m obsessed with the outcome! It’s important or remember we all fail sometimes! I may have succeeded in the end (in my opinion) but I DEF. failed along the way!

The Dollar Tree isn't sketchy in the slightest. Obviously you are not going to find high quality goods because it is a dollar store or $1.25 if you live in Canada. But the makeup they sell there which is Elf or Billie is actually amazing and I use their products. Still if you want a inexpensive card for any occasion it's better to buy from a dollar store.
I wouldn't have had the patience for sewing it. That's when I would've whipped out the hot glue gun. Woo-child! Excellent job as usual. ❤
I'm glad you show things when they don't work out, you're not afraid to experiment but willing to admit defeat if it's not what you wanted! That's skill development right there. Loved the outfit, I so would have worn that when I was younger, I was a major rocky horror fan and wore all kinds of stuff at times 😜😈

This came out so freaking cute. I was a little nervous with the streamer rope look, ( ok a lot nervous) but you never disappoint and I seriously “eeeked” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻at the end. In A good way. Haha!

I love the look! If you would add the “lady bug” fabric underneath as a petty coat, it would be reminiscent of the petty coat Hattie Daniels wore under her skirt in Gone with the Wind!
LOVE the "floating" aspect of the bottom strip of the skirt. Would have liked to see that on a model so the movement was visible. Excellent job as usual!
The final reveal gave me a Nicole Kidman as Samantha vibe.

I LOVED the idea of the wrought iron motif on the skirt!! I’ve dealt with lots of failures myself as a crafter/DIYer, so it totally happens!
Please hold on to that idea for another dress/another day… if you do, I bet it’s going to look ABSOLUTELY EPIC!

It's absolutely adorable!!! It looks good for stuff from the Dollar Tree and it probably would look better in actual fabrics that make it flow better and sew better. I would wear that myself if I saw that in a shop window and my only excuse for buying it is because I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist it.

Mustering yourself to go hunting supplies that would work better.
I know we live in different regions, but, my local dollar trees have been hit really hard by the conditions of the virus; far less staff, supplies decimated, huge jumbled messes in the isles from careless customers & no extra employees to tidy up, plus some devastating traffic conditions blocking deliveries, unusual amounts of things being panic purchased, and back orders ar the factories. It makes it all look very dismal and dark.

One thing those black satin pillowcases from Dollar Tree are good for? I ran a shoelace through the hem channel to make bags, and use them in my closet to keep the dust off and store to large purses, bags, and hats. keep the dust

Got invited to a steampunk themed Halloween wedding...just finished crafting cuffs for meh dress as well as a handbag to carry meh drink and smokes...the Cousin Itt hand bag evolved to become an entire family. It is a wedding after all. So Mrs Kitty and the kids shall enjoy this opportunity to get out of the attic. Used Dollar store items along with some Hobby Lobby supplies and a few items purchased off Amazon!! Way to challenge yourself Gunnar!!!

I thought it was impressive how you took the black pillow cases and transformed it into a dress. Maybe the wrought iron would have looked cute across the top piece and have the bottom be like ruffles so it looks like dead leaves and add a few fake blood. I'm studying to be a designer and I have seen all of your work and thought they look amazing! Keep it up!😁
