Thanks a lot Hilary. Let me give you an expression. You missed the goats. When we want to say about someone who is carzy, we say, you missed the goats.
It sounds funny, even through I'm not really sure why goats are involved :)
The shepherd fell asleep near a cave while grazing his goats. When he woke up, he could not see his goats and started to think what to do. The villagers who came to help him saw that his goats were near the cave. So they thought that the shepherd had lost his goats and lost his mind, and the idiom "missed the goats" started to be used for people who lost their mind and behaved like crazy.
