    You can easily put a strong piece of wood from the next level down coming up to give support to the projector. Very nice though.

  • @robcohen
    @robcohen 3 месяца назад

    I like your new setup! I do think you'll need some kind of active cooling, since that is a closed space. A projector makes a lot of heat, and it would suck to damage or degrade it. AC Infinity makes lots of nice stuff that can help with that.

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад

      After doing a few movies since moving the projector, actually, it is running quite fine. The fabric isn't even warm to the touch after a full movie. But I'll be monitoring nonetheless and adjust as needed.

      @@Techthusiasm I think I'd at least throw some kind of temperature sensor back there to keep an eye on it - perhaps one of those little Nest ones?

    • @Techthusiasm

      Yes, that's my plan. Just ordered a temp/humidity sensor to check it out.

    Hey, great job! Another step towards the ultimate room! Love following the journey, looks good.
    What are you doing there to black out the area on the wall above the screen? Looks good. I only have 7’ ceiling in my room and still struggle with ceiling reflections even with the room blacked out and with black felt on the ceiling. It’s one of the things I can improve. One day I will do velvet but have not wanted to commit yet, and I am not very handy

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад

      Thanks! My screen is installed so it floats forward of the wall, and then the same black velvety material is hung on the entire wall around it. The ceiling is just painted flat black. I'm thinking about flocking the first few feet of the ceiling with material though at some point.

    • @jastorino
      @jastorino 3 месяца назад

      @@TechthusiasmCool. Yeah, I don't have nearly as much space between the top of my screen and the ceiling. Probably about 1 ft. If you get to doing the ceiling, we should collaborate and figure it out! Best idea I have so far is black velvet attached to corrugated plastic squares, then a staple gun to attach to my drywall popcorn ceiling. For now I just used thumb tacks to tack up the black felt sheets I got on Amazon. It made a big difference, but still there is some glare off of it.

    Great video. Room looks great. Can I ask how air is going to get into the projector with the curtain there?

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад +1

      The whole space is open behind the curtain and the curtain hangs forward of the wall a bit. With the hot air blowing out the front through the opening, cool air can come in all around the sides and door opening. I can always continue to modify if needed, like cutting some curtain space open behind the standing acoustic panels in front of the door.

    Do the shelves resonate during reference levels in bass heavy scenes,causing the projector to shake?

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад +1

      Will have to test more to see, but I both expect and hope not. It should be a much more stable setup than the ceiling mount on the soffit.

      Do you ever feel it is too big? I just got my 130” scope screen and I sit 10’ from screen. Sometimes I can feel motion sickness. I am just curious.

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад +1

      I'm comfortable at this size and distance, but I wouldn't feel a need for anything bigger. Nor actually would I really want to sit much further away from a screen either. If feels immersive, but still intimate and connected, without overbearing to me.

    9:14 very important to make sure anyone with a projector understands that the warranty will be voided if you fail to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for allowing space around the projector. Especially the air intakes in the back and the hot air vents in the front.

  • @keepingupwiththejones2933
    @keepingupwiththejones2933 3 месяца назад +1

    Definitely a lot better in terms of air flow around the projector. Unfortunately this setup would still void the warranty that JVC provides due to the space that JVC states is required behind the projector where the air intake vents are located. I don't think you will have any issues with heat but this is definitely still an install that would be considered not appropriate by any professional installers.

  • @athena4512

    IDK if anyone else added this but IF? You run your projector like this you are at considerable RISK OF FIRE HAZARD.. The heat from the light emitted that’s still touching/shining on curtain can get incredibly HOT…
    IE it’s merely inches away from the lens etc a little common sense here…

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад +1

      The light is going through an open hole in the curtain though. I've already opened the hole bigger than at the end of the video and plan to do so enough so the entire front face of the projector is unobstructed for full hot air flow.

      Good job.. Just looking at what you put in the video.. Again just looking out here, not trying to be a jerk..
      I’d still be Leary as a friend of mine did something very similar and the heat build up over just 30 min of use was scary hot IE on the Fabric etc

      You have done a fantastic job on your theater love it! Quick question? I never heard your thoughts on the prior Arendal Subs? IE I see u went SVSsb16 x4 but the Arendals seem to possibly be better? IE on paper 2 drivers in push/pull IE like perlisten subs
      Please LMK Details as I am still considering those sealed Arendals
      I have 1 SB16 and 3 REL 1508’s I know odd but the Svs was 1st and I got the itch after watching other reviews on REL.. Anyhow thnx.. Sean.

    • @Techthusiasm
      @Techthusiasm  3 месяца назад

      The Arendal are great, but my preference and better option for me was to converge on 4x of the SB16 than getting more Arendal subs. I like a few specific elements of the SVS a bit better, like the more reliable app and build logistic.

    • @athena4512
      @athena4512 3 месяца назад

      Got it.. But what in your opinion hit harder/cleaner etc IE if just running 2 svs vs 2 Arendals? Thnx again for your time.
