Respectfully, I disagree with the Gucci loafers at $900. You can get MUCH better loafers at that price point than a Gucci loafer.
Yeah, they're just the typical LA / Cali clowns that think expensive = style.
Such as?
when gucci did like 25 different versions of the horsebit loafer in 2013 (the loafer's 60th birthday), i bought a few pairs at around $530 apiece, which felt like fair value for an extremely iconic designer shoe. honestly I think they only charge so much more now bc they can, since the brand became so hot under alessandro michele. while i completely agree that they're overpriced now, personally i wouldn't want any other horsebit loafer (with all due respect to ferragamo, carmina, et al). i've since bought several more pairs secondhand in very nice shape for $250 or less and i highly recommend going that route
Why are we thinkihg alike ? The gucci loafers is over rated
@@aijofqiouasfjhioasfjak edward green, crockett & jones, tlb mallorca
Just purchased my first pair last week, Allen Edmonds Randolphs
weejuns all the way! the black model and the burgundy model are my favorite. works dressed up or casually. Also Gucci did invent the horsebit loafer.
I was surprised not to see a single pair featured in Oxblood. Bass Weejuns are classics….but I actually enjoy most of the versions they’ve mentioned here. It shows how many different styles that are available for many different looks. Bass to Gucci and all the ones in between.
My Santoni penny loafers were a little more than the Gucci's but so comfortable I'd never trade them up.
I love my Santonis!
Santoni is great quality. Would love to have a pair, might have to upgrade soon
Loafer 180 By JM Weston Made In France Created In 1946 Is The Best And The Brand Exist Since 1891.
Great for spring
Oak street bookmakers makes a great loafer in the 200-400 range. Made in USA, hand stitched
Please make more videos like this.
I do recommend Velasca Milano. Probably one of the best brands for shoes that won’t break the bank.
Yeah, i bought a pair about 6 years ago. Still looking pretty new
Loafers sure are comfortable. You can wear whatever you want with them.
Blackstock and Weber is great! I have two. I think the horsebit in black leather with the Vibram sole is a better alternative to th Gucci black horesbit
Got some two tone GH Basses yesterday! Absolutely love them
Need more of this
I swore Gucci invented the horsebit loafer. Gucci originally made horse saddles, so the shoe paid homage to the designer’s early days.
Interesting fact if that's legit...too lazy to check.....but I'll still tell people😂😅
@@hugogarcia108it is. It was confirmed on Gentlemen Gazzette video about Gucci Loafers
I love these videos. The comedic value of these three clowns never fails.
John Lobb Paris is under Hermes, while John Lobb England is separate and mainly concentrate on bespoke.
FIRE SERIES
i really love the silhouette of G.H bass co loafers but the only issue i have with them, is that when the outsoles becoming beat up. you can’t wear them when it raining. the waters would really go inside of your feet. worst part is that their insoles leaves a stains to you feet especially if you’re wearing socks.
Just get a rubber sole added. GH Bass also made models which come with rubber soles
@@augustbuuslindstrm4598what model?
@@LameWorks They’re called Easy Weejuns
As a Brit, hearing Americans try to pronounce Northamptonshire is very amusing.
And yet “New Hampshire” is universally pronounced so perfectly
WEEJUNS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EXCELLENT. BEGAN WEARING THEM IN HIGH SCHOOL 1979. GUCCI LOAFERS (THE OLDER ONES) WERE COMFORTABLE THE NEW ONES NOT SO MUCH. VUITTON LOAFERS ARE THE BEST
I would probably put Berluti Lorenzo, John lobb and Tom Ford as my top 3.
Beckett Simenon is the best value. I love them
No Alden???!
I would add grant stone to the mid tier list
Meermin is top notch to its price. I have a brogue pair since 2016
Is it common to spend $200+ for shoes?
Sure
It’s cheaper to pay $200 once than $50 five times for shoes which wear out
Lol seriously?
3 pairs over 1k, 2 pairs 700… etc
No. Save and invest your money. Don’t buy into this.
splurge addition on list: Loro Piana
Morajas. I been looking at the upper pumps formal white tie dress shoes
Anybody know the overshirt that Gerald is wearing?
Vintage Armani 🙂 www.gq.com/story/vintage-armani-looks-so-cool
nice to see solovair getting some attention (I mean not really, but also yes)
blackstock and weber is the perfect solution if you want gucci loafers but don’t wanna pay almost 1k
loaffers video without speaking about the iconic jm weston 180 loaffer such a shame
What a joke😂
They look comfy.
What is that great coat the Yang-Yi Goh is wearing?
@Gerald: Did you do anything to make the Blackstock & Weber more comfortable? I have a pair that I found super uncomfortable because there is no full insole - if I insert an insole, they're too small.
My pair of B&Ws were fortunately very comfy straight from the jump (helps that I accidentally ordered a half size too large lol). But! When shoes are a bit too tight, check out this article I wrote on breaking in leather shoes. Hopefully that helps you to stretch out the shoe a little bit to accommodate insoles! www.gq.com/story/how-to-break-in-leather-shoes - Gerald
What pair of loafers Avidan wears in this video?
Can attest to the Sebago joints being on sale. I got my pair for $80 New Zealand Dollars which is hella cheap. Maybe around $50USD.
No mention of Carmina?
Exactly. You have to be knowledgeable to know about Carmina.
ID on trousers 1:38?
I remember the penny loafers. People use to actually put pennies in them.😊😊😊
talking about loafers but not mention jm weston/alden...
Seriously...
Was just about to comment this hahaha
Gucci loafers so fire
What’s that jacket Yang-Yi is wearing??
SEVERED CIRCLES CHORE JACKET BUT IT SOLD OUT SO QUICK!
Duke and Dexter for the win
Why so many black loafers? Isn't oxblood a more popular colorway for men's loafers?
😮💨
no alden lhs?
Now one for derbies please :)
aint no way they didnt mention loake in this video
Skating in loafers?
what shirt is Gerald wearing here?
Kinda feeling the Sebagos, ngl
No Ferragamo??
Any Japanese made loafer over that Gucci one for the price point
No Grant Stone?
I watched a shoe maker on line , He said Guccis are not worth the money!!
And I'm sure his shoes were.
Morjas are delicious.
Sebago suckss cuz they don’t have half sizes 🥴
id on dude's worker jacket?
lol no Ferragamo on the list… for shame.
Agreed!, luv my Ferragamo's
I feel like most people just want the brands even the quality is really bad the Gucci loafers are not it
anyone own and love the our legacy commando version?
I’m sorry but for GQ editors these dudes have no swagger
You have to remember they are working a typical minimum wage/salary job…just at GQ 😂 it doesn’t guarantee swagger.
@@mcsc730 you don’t have to make great money to have great style
Belgian!!!!!
No thanks. I prefer shoes that don't wreck my feet
I swear these are the most un-stylish GQ editors ever
How about ald loafers?
Gucci? Really? Nope.
Gucci shoes as low as $50 at BabaReplica
Shoes like these make men soft 😅
Gerald has no culture. Over here many of us wear loafers without socks. Europeans have more style than Americans and the Chinese
no, they really don’t have more style. and stop being r@c!$t.. w3!rd0.
I wear no show socks. Has same effect.
How to ruin every outfit: wear loafers
Nah, loafers elevate every outfit.
I prefer my nike pegasus runners and cost less than 200. I realize fashion is more important to some.
bruhh.. I prefer just to use flip flop which cost $5, but sometimes you got to wear something nice when going out with girls. I guess you don't
The gucci loafer is the worst looking one.
Heavy disagreement. And I don’t like the brand. It’s iconic silhouette for a reason
Loafers in black does not go well with smart casual or casual clothes pairing. In fact true fashionistas don’t like them in black as they cannot either go casual or formal. These guys are clueless.
Relax lol
the last two hacks looked great!! 👍🏼🫶🏼🤗
