    What size should one get with a size 9.5 brannock foot?

    • @raenkord7881
      @raenkord7881 Год назад +4

      I have a 10 on the brannock, my Reid sneaker is a 9.5, and I wear 9s in other leather boots. It should be noted that I actually sit at B/C for width and my sizing is based on getting a D width to not be too wide.

    • @Stridewise

      I'm 11.5 Brannock and ordered 11.5, I found them a little big but when I added the insoles they came with the fit improved a lot. So you can go true to size and do an insole or go down a half size and stand on leather instead

    Could you make a video on the different types of leathers out there? I think it would be a very useful video, me personally I would be more hesitant to buy a Kudu boot from GS than a standard chromexcel boot solely because I'm more familiar with how to take care of chromexcel than kudu. As a viewer, I think it would be very, very helpful(and interesting) if you were to talk about the pros and cons of stuff like ostrich/kudu leather and how to take care of such leathers. However, I understand that care is very subjective to the way and where a leather is tanned, but I thought this would be a neat video idea nonetheless.

    Interesting. Last summer I found a barely worn pair of Weejun's penny loafers, unlined, leather soles, for $15. They are lightweight and cool, so ok for summer. I bought them true to size, and they do struck to my heels. In the office they're pretty comfortable. Walking, not so much--but maybe they'll break in. Tassles and bridle rings just look silly to me.

      @@aceymac Oof, I was only thinking of the ones in the upper price tiers. If we're talking about in the $200 tier, Jay Butler is the only horsebit which can compete with BS. The only reason why I don't like the BS Loafer is that I prefer the gold/silver looking bits over BS's nickel horsebit, but other than that they seem good.

    • @aceymac
      @aceymac Год назад +1

      @@anonymousotter6455 I totally agree with you regarding gold versus silver, but my frugality won over my aesthetic. When I was looking at the Beaumonts, I looked at shoes up to $400+ and honestly didn’t find anything that was significantly better. The comfort of the moccasin construction with the sleekness of amor Continental/Italian five hits for me but if you know something else out there, I’m open.
      I have a pair of JBs also. Really good shoes, but the vamps are so short, they don’t work as a daily city walking shoe, at least for me.

    • @noone3734
      @noone3734 Год назад +1

      @@nijikirainijinosei92 Your reply got me thinking about how much has to be split off before it's considered a suede. So I went and looked at some CF Stead suede, and it turns out the full grain side is left fully intact, it isn't split at all. So it's essentially the same thing as rough-out leather? Except the flesh side is nicely finished.
      "Janus Calf Suede is a premium suede tanned in the UK. It is well known in the high-end shoe market and used by some of the best shoe brands. This suede has some of the softest and most consistent suede feel you will find. The hides come from the alps regions of Europe. The calf leather comes with the full-grain and is not a split suede. With the Janus calf you will get a premium tight grain across the entire hide."
      So if I'm understanding correctly, suede can mean either a cheap split hide, or a full grain reverse hide where the flesh side is finished in a particular way. Interesting. Now it makes sense why CF Stead "suede" is so expensive.
