Wow I learn so many tips from this video! Mainly not applying the gel on the tips first and also that neat little trick with the protein bond on the edges to prevent chipping.
That’s for sure. I was just coming out of a long illness and has separated nail beds due to malnutrition. I kept the fiber-gel on the in hopes they wouldn’t rip off while growing out and it worked wonderfully. I only had one nail break off and most were separated almost to half-mom. I wear fiber-gel under everything
@@NanaNan1 thank you.. I hv lot too .. since my nails grew out with fiber gel.. I just use the full cover tips to do designs & give them away to my GFs from HS or any friends 💅 as gifts..
I got mine and I must say it is totally awesome. I've used the kit and wore a couple of days then changed colors. I was able to clip and file one of my nails off to redo because it was crooked. 😂 Thank you for making this kit! 🥰❤️💅🏻
I got mine. I used it to attach my press on nails and it worked perfectly. I have had my nails on now for over a week and they are still on. My co-workers have thought that I got my nails done at the shop.
Thank you for all your tips and tricks. They've been so helpful for me! The Protein Bond has been a huge help, too. My nails used to just pop off after a couple days (even when I was getting them done in the salon) no matter how good the prep. With the Protein Bond, I can wear them almost a full two weeks before they start to pop off. Thanks!
Fantastic application technique. For the record you don't need to file the inside of the full coverage tip, you can just use primer/bonder to etch it. Saves so much time.
I tried this quick technique without filing the the tip inside ... I wanted a temporary look and they actually stayed on for 4 weeks until I soaked them off. I just knew they were going to come off on their own but they didn't. The best product ever !!!
I got the fiber gel when it first came out and my clients are loving it! I tried the technique on 1 nail 4 weeks ago and it’s still on, so far no lifting. I’m about to fill around the cuticle to see for much longer it’s going to stay!
By far, the best kit ever!! I have not used the tips yet other than to swatch the new fiber gel colors. I did figure out how to do a flawless baby boomer nail with those! So I did my own nails that way without tips. I am in love with them! ❤
Greg you enthusiasm is always contagious! I purchased this kit when it first came out and am doing my first set tomorrow. I’m going to try some dimension on top any tips to avoid bulk?
If you are working over a full coverage tip, it can get bulky quickly, especially when doing dimension since the tip itself takes up a lot of thickness. For dimension, we would recommend using finer glitters/confetti/etc so you don't have to put more than two layers of top coat on. If you use bulkier embellishments (chunky glitters/large confetti/mylar), you will have to use more product to encase these and this can build bulk quickly.
I really loved your video. And I also have just bought the ManiQ fiber gel and it is amazing!! I do have a question, is it absolutely necessary to use the portable UV light to adhere the nail tip, when doing your own nails? What can you do in case you don't have the portable UV light?
Yes, we have found that our newer concealer bases work great for adhering our full cover tips as well. Just remember you won't be able to soak off if you use those.
For flat nails, you would want to use either more product or a thicker product (such as our Sculptor hard gels) to fill in that gap. If you use a gel, make sure to remove the shine from the well of the tip since gel won't adhere to the shiny surface and will pop off. You can also use a pearl of acrylic to apply it. Keep in mind, acrylic or soft gels (ManQ or Fiber Gel) will soak off, but Synergy hard gels will not, so this would have to be filed off. Yes, they can be filed/cut down for shorter nails.
We always recommend cleansing with Swipe to remove any oils or contaminants on the nail and bring the nail to the proper pH level for the best adhesion. Applying Protein Bond will also help the adhesion for longer wear.
Considering investing in the set but I’d like to know first, if this is soak off? And second if I wanted to add a couple coats of the fibergel to build structure for clients who need it is that an option? Would you say this is one and done set and cannot be refilled also?
You can soak off fiber gel. With this service with the full cover tips, we would recommend cutting them down and removing as much as you can with an e-file before soaking. You can just use the fiber gel on clients who need the structure or the fiber gel with tips. You can also fill fiber gel either by itself or applied with the tips.
I don't believe we have a video using that specifically, but you definitely can. You would want to prep the tip still like we do when adhering with fiber gel. Just remember that since it's hard gel, you won't be able to soak off completely.
When you pre-design the nails, you need to make sure you are using colors/glitters that are somewhat translucent to let the light through. If you are uncertain if they are translucent enough, you can always mix an iridescent glitter to break up the color. This will allow the light through without changing the color.
Hellow im allergic to gel base coat and monomer. I can use dip base and dip powders. I'm applying my full cover tips with dip base for the moment. Is fiber gel like gel base coat and can you get allergie from it? Thx
Fiber Gel is a gel product, not a resin like dip products, so there's a chance you may have a reaction to it. We recommend consulting with your healthcare provider to determine what chemicals you are having the reaction to as this can help you determine what products you will have reactions to. Allergies can develop over time and with over-exposure, so it's possible to develop an allergy to any chemical if it is not applied properly.
No, it makes it easier to adhere the tips with our awkwardly maneuvering into the curing light but once the tip is on you want to fully cure in the curing light.
I prep my nails exactly the same way that I do my clients. Could the issue be that my hands are exposed to moisture pretty much all day, every day?
There could be several reasons your nails lift and your client's do not. You may be harder on your nails, especially as a nail tech who comes in contact with acetone or other chemicals, washes their hands more often (this can be drying to the nails), etc. It can also happen when you do your own nails if you aren't seeing the nail from the same angles as you do your clients. It can be harder to apply the product perfectly on ourselves and you may be getting the product too close to the cuticle without realizing. Sometimes when we do our own nails, we aren't always as detailed as we are with our clients.

Can someone explain Fiber Gel to me Please!! 15 ish years ago when fiber gel first came out I was told it was a material inside the gel, little fibers. This added to the strength of the gel. Except - what about when you filing it, filing it down, into shape, filing it off.... That dust has pink insulation in it, that your breathing in. And unless your in a hazmat suit, you will breath some... So your new Fiber Gel - can you please tell me what kind of fiber is it?? Also, is just having a nail tip glued on by gel strong enough? Strong enough for everyday life, and 3 weeks till a fill?

That pink itchy stuff. Now she did go on to say the argument was, its always in a gel, on top of your nails - no contact.
Fiber Gel+Keratin is a thicker consistency soft gel designed to enhance natural nails. It contains Keratin which contributes to natural nail health and micro fibers that form more of a "mesh" to give the gel more structure.
So I understand that added fibers that make a mesh formula, but can you tell me what those fibers are? What are they made of/from??
This looks amazing. Can't wait to try. Do you fill in as they grow or soak off and do a new set? @youngnailsinc
You can do either.
