I'm not a nail tech, I just like playing with this stuff. A friend had a broken natural nail that was going to be an issue because the break was so far down the side. She asked if there was anything I could do and I did pretty much this process with gel and a full tip. Much to our surprise, it actually lasted so long that it grew out eventually!
love this method! i definitely don’t want to ever go back to acrylic lol. many nail techs have a full clientele with this gel x method! it’s such a time saver and when it holds up just like acrylic, my mind says why would i do acrylic ever again 😅❤
I've stated using the fiber gel like this and for fills and as it grows out I eventually use it as a natural nail overlay and it works better than anything else I've ever tried. I have very flexible natural nails and am super hard on my hands doing building projects, gardening, woodwork, dog grooming, etc. The fiber gel is a complete game changer for me, a person who has never been able to grow her nails past my nail bed at all and it's brought me so much joy, confidence and excitement.
I use this method with flexible and hard gel and I have been filling them in for months. Tip, add some gel to the extended underside of the nail it reinforces the nail and prevents warped nail extension over time.
For those with gel allergies (like me), try one layer of dip powder on the natural nail, then adhere the full coverage nail enhancement with the dip powder bonder. Buff adhered nail to roughen surface and add one layer of dip powder. Buff to smooth surface and polish. This works great for me and lasts a long time.
I'm looking back at how yall have enhanced your technique with this service and created an AWESOME system with the Full Coverage Fibergel Kit for us! 💗💗
These nails are BEYOND gorgeous Tracey! I think I can do these. I’m a beginner and love to learn from young nails. Thank you & Katie for this great content 😊
LOVE the cuticle oils! I knit so it dries out my cuticles something FIERCE! I get the large bottle and put it into tiny bottles and have one in my purse, one in my knitting bag, one on my desk at work, one on my desk at home, one next to my bed... I have cuticle oil everywhere. I even gave a little bottle to my boss yesterday and told her to start ordering it. NOW, I have to order some fiber gel and funkadelic... 😜
I used cheap gel tips and I love this technique, I'm a new nail tech and im very lazy when it comes to my nails. So I always use this method and you really dont need an expensive kit like Apres Gel X, the cheap ones works just as good.
If you’re charging someone for a service, then I would go with gel x or a reputable brand. But since you’re doing it on yourself, cheap tips work just fine.
I do this with my nails as well, the Fiber Gel gives great flexibility and strength to the nail without compromise. Especially for people like me who can be clumsy and constantly hit my nails in things. I even use it to adhere my press on toe nails.
Thank you so much for this video!! I used some rather flimsy full cover nails that I would otherwise have had no use for. This is the easiest method for a beautiful , quick and practically flawless look! I love the way you a taken a product meant for natural nails and created more uses beyond sole use for natural nails increasing the flexibility of use for the gel! 👏

But i only did the fiber gel in the Prepped well of the tip and yes as you said need to be careful not to put to much because i got some oozing. Love her idea of the coat on the natural nail first. My sis Jenn Roberts told me to do it this way back in December when I visited her. She did my nails (yay sister nail tech) and they were awesome with this technique.
I don't have to file the inside of the full coverage tips anymore because I learned if you use primer/bonder instead (I use yn protein bond) it holds just as long. I also don't remove my full coverage tips I just fill them unless I want them to be longer.
I had to have a major back surgery Oct 19, 2022. With that being said, I had to remove my acrylics & since my nails are so thin I decided to try the fiber gel with 1 coat on my pointer finger’s and 2 coats on the rest. I love the color & it allowed for the pulse ox meter read through the 1 & even 2 coats of the fiber gel. It’s helped with my nails not be sensitive as well! Great product for sure something I plan to use & recommend in the future!❤
I’m waiting for my fiber gel….. not very patiently. Love this set - .I can see myself using this technique to save time on my own nails as well, as well as for events like proms, weddings, graduations etc.. I get bored with the same set after about a week or so. I’m not sure if I got the full cover tips or not but if I didn’t I will😊
This could be the answer to my problems! My actual nails are so thin from me learning and removing gel, acrylic, and dip. I need to give them a break. Not to mention I am changing from acrylic to gel. I love that she fills these. It took me 2 days to do a set, I want something quick to do at home, put slick pour on, decorate, change up, and look amazing.
Yep it took me a long time because I was a lil skeptical. I have to say these are awesome and you don’t have to use that much. I did it the same way they did and they are perfect!!! Thank you #Young Nails you guys are definitely the best!!!

Thank you for the feedback. Both of our acrylic lines and all but one of our hard gels are HEMA free. If you want to see SDS/MSDS on certain products you can email shane@youngnails.com.
I've given my nails a few weeks without enhancements and ha loved how I don't have to use a top coat when I do thin overlay with the fibergel! Epic shine! I am curious Ii f y'all will release different nude shades in it?????? Or an iridescent purple one like the look on this set?? Btw I had to get my hands on that glitter and oil so good job! Release more vids with cool neutral looks using glitters please!
I have used both on mine. The only problem with acrylic is that it takes a while to solidify when using it to adhere the full tips. Using gel and/or poly gel is faster.
You can fill with anything pretty much... acrylic, hard gel, soft gel, acrygel, builder gel, etc.... I've got poly gel abs builder gel on my initial layers and then I filled with a builder gel and acrylic poured over today...
A basic set with one gel polish would probably be a 30 minute service, so probably starting at $60 and up. Acrylic over gel doesn’t work as well as gel over acrylic.
Curious, maybe I missed something? When you cure the tip to the nail, you’re holding the tip in place. Is that necessary, and why? And how long do you hold the tip in place with your finger (if that’s the case). And if you do do the switch hand method, and you must hold the tip in place, how would that be a time saver? Wouldn’t you have to wait anyway (Again, if you do need to hold tip in place) ? Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestion. Since the nail is flat, you would want to use either more product or a thicker product (such as our Sculptor hard gels) to fill in that gap. If you use a gel, make sure to remove the shine from the well of the tip since gel won't adhere to the shiny surface and will pop off. You can also use a pearl of acrylic to apply it. Keep in mind, acrylic or soft gels (ManQ or Fiber Gel) will soak off, but Synergy hard gels will not, so this would have to be filed off.
@@youngnailsinc I didn't know if there was a way to do it without ending up with a lip underneath. I've got the manicure fiber and I've got this energy gels so that's not a problem.
If you are getting a lip underneath you may be using too much product. You can also use our under the nail but to get rid of that lip after you cure it.
Tracey top coated all nails and then went in and hand filed the sides of each nail again. My question is wouldn't that then break the seal or protection of the top coat on the sides making it null and void, and making it so you don't have protection on the sides of your nails?
With our products & application techniques, especially with the use of Protein Bond, if you file the edges, the product still remains bonded to the nail plate, so you don't have to worry about it breaking the seal.
I put this up on the Facebook community page about 6 weeks ago. It's a great method. The tips stay on. I just filled mine in with Flamingo acrylic. I did a full video showing how I applied them on myself on my Channel. There is a learning curve with putting them on yourself. But works great!
A client requested these not too long ago from me and she heard of gel x but the salon I’m at has the kiara sky version , I’m only mentioning those because the set they have available come with full cover gel tips instead of plastic tips, would you guys consider making full cover gel tips for this method because I would love to use your brand for this for sure!
I’m definitely going to try this!! I bought some fiber gel for the Black Friday sale and still haven’t used it! (I know I know!) I also noticed that you didn’t put the tip all the way to the cuticle!! I have been doing it wrong! 🙄😬 I can’t wait to try it this way!
Enough of the light can get around the thumb just to hold the tip in place so it doesn't move when you put it into the curing lamp. You want to make sure you do a full cure, uncovered in the lamp to ensure the product is completely set all the way through.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but: With this method of doing nails, are you supposed to leave that gap at the cuticle? Tracey leaves a few millimeters between the cuticle and the fullcover tip, but on her own nails its right up to the cuticle (like a hair away from it, but still not touching) so do you have to leave such a big gap with this method? Or is it just because its hard for Tracey to see while filming? It almost looks like its right before a fill. Hope to get an answer
When you apply any artificial product (acrylic, gel, gel polish, or traditional polish) you do need to leave a slight space between the product and the cuticle for it to adhere properly to the nail and not get lifting. When you see nails done on video, it looks farther away than it really is because of the camera magnification.
@@youngnailsinc I'm not sure I made myself clear, but thank you for your answer. I know you have to keep that space and I can see in the end results Tracey has it all close up to the cuticle, but what I mean is that the full cover tip she is placing it further away from the cuticle (at least that's what it looks like) do you have to leave a bigger gap between the tip she is using than you do when doing gel or acrylic normally? I hope this makes better sense 😃
If you are prepping the nail and applying properly, they can definitely last as long as acrylic or hard gel extensions. You can fill these with the fiber gel as well.
I used this technique on a client to fix 3 of her nails. I didn't file the inside of the nail, because I wanted them to pop off. Needless to say, I couldn't pop the 3 off. I finished doing all her nails and praying those 3 won't come off within her 3 week fill.
What would y’all charge for this set?
A basic set with one gel polish would probably be a 30 minute service, so probably starting at $60 and up.
I wanted to ask the same thing.. 🤭
Thanks for the answer YN 💘💖
Wow where I am I couldn’t get more than $40.00 to many Asian shops that charge $20.00

@@wiwtb925 they just flash cure it to keep it somewhat in place. After the hand is done, then they go in for a full 60 seconds.

We have a great video discussing this topic available here: ruclips.net/video/7NIScxze-R4/видео.html
@@youngnailsinc thank you 😊
I’m definitely going to try this!! I bought some fiber gel for the Black Friday sale and still haven’t used it! (I know I know!) I also noticed that you didn’t put the tip all the way to the cuticle!! I have been doing it wrong! 🙄😬 I can’t wait to try it this way!
YN needs a hand held light for flash curing!
They look so good! Katie is full of helpful tips (hehe) :-)

I know this was from a year ago but how is it flash curing if a thumb is over the nail? Do you move your thumb off after a few seconds? Just curious
Enough of the light can get around the thumb just to hold the tip in place so it doesn't move when you put it into the curing lamp. You want to make sure you do a full cure, uncovered in the lamp to ensure the product is completely set all the way through.
Great video💕
Just got twitch and subscribed with prime. So excited to try it out. 😋

How long does this method typically last? Will the nails last 2 weeks like other types of extensions?
If you are prepping the nail and applying properly, they can definitely last as long as acrylic or hard gel extensions. You can fill these with the fiber gel as well.
Loving this🙌🙌🙌🙌👌

I used this technique on a client to fix 3 of her nails. I didn't file the inside of the nail, because I wanted them to pop off. Needless to say, I couldn't pop the 3 off. I finished doing all her nails and praying those 3 won't come off within her 3 week fill.
Okay now I think I know what's been causing my lifting! Thanks!

On the finishing coat what is the product used? what clear did you applied, was it a gel?
She used Stain Resistant top coat.
