    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.

    I was using YN Synergy on my natural nails and just started using the Fiber Gel. The Fiber Gel is easier to maintain my shorties and I like that I don't have to use a base coat. I tell anyone who will listen that Young Nails is the truth! Great products, awesome tutorials and excellent customer service. I love it here!

    Can you apply a soak off gel or soak off builder gel as a slip layer on natural nails then go in with a hard gel? When comes time to remove, hypothetically could you file down the hard gel layer and then soak off the soak off layer to prevent from damaging the nail plate? Do soak off hard gels exist?

    Also you don’t go to the cuticle, only side walls.
    How long does this stay on?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 года назад +3

      Yes you can apply gel polish on top.
      When you apply any artificial product (acrylic, gel, gel polish, or traditional polish) you do need to leave a slight space between the product and the cuticle for it to adhere properly to the nail and not get lifting. When you see nails done on video, it looks farther away than it really is because of the camera magnification.
      With proper pre, you can keep this on for weeks.

      If it's pulling away before going into the light, the nail surface may be too smooth. Make sure you are prepping with a medium arbor band or 150 grit hand file, not a buffer. Also, make sure you are using Protein Bond to give the nail a tacky surface to adhere to.

      If you are asking about the handpiece, you do not need anything on it, but always keep a bit in it, even when you are not working with it, to keep the dust out. If you are asking about the motor, make sure to put the adhesive that comes with it over the surface to help protect it. Also, after every use, make sure to dust it off or wipe it down to help keep it clean. Do not use acetone or other solvents as this can damage the surface.

    I noticed you don’t have to cap the free edge with this product? Since you mentioned that when you do your wife’s nails it sometimes starts to separate from the free edge a little, would it be a bad idea to cap the free edge to prevent lifting for me?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 года назад +1

      You can definitely cap the edge if you want. As long as you use Protein Bond, it will seal the product to the nail and you don't have to cap, but it may give you a little better wear on someone who is harder on their nails.

    What do u charge for removing and reapplying to natural nails

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  11 месяцев назад

      Keep in mind that it is not necessary to completely remove all of the product when the client returns for maintenance. You can simply prep the surface (remove any separated product if necessary) and fill in the regrowing area. If you do need to remove all of the product and re-apply, you would charge for the application as you would for any new application and you would add on an additional charge for the removal. Keep in mind that your pricing should bring in the same amount “per hour” no matter what service you are doing. For example, if you charge $60 for a service that takes you an hour, you would charge $30 for a service that takes you 30 minutes, $15 for a service that takes 15 minutes.

When you get closer to the natural nail, if you are not re-applying product, you can switch to a 180 buffer. If you are re-applying product, you do not need to remove it all, you can just remove the shine and fill in the outgrowth area and blend to the rest of the nail.

    What is the difference between Fiber Gel and Poly or Hybrid Gel?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад

      Fiber Gel is a great product for a natural nail overlay. It flexes & moves with the natural nail & the keratin in it helps to enhance the natural nail. The micro fibers within it also create a “mesh” within the product, so when it cures, it has a stronger bond over the nail. A hard gel works great if you are building length with a firm or over a tip. Ince cured, it becomes non porous, so if you have clients whose hands are in water or chemicals on a regular basis (ex. Hair stylists, bar tenders/servers, etc) hard gels tend to be a better option. As for polygel, this is not a product we use or manufacture, so we can't give more info on its benefits.

      It's called a glitter press. All I did was press the glitter I chose into the tacky layer after curing the Fiber gel. I used a makeup brush to press the glitter into the nail. Then you lightly dust off the excess glitter and I like to double top coat so I can't feel any texture.

    YN, can you give us a chemical explanation on why it’s called “Fiber gel?” It sounds like it’s a softer version of gel but not sure how “fiber” plays into this.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 года назад +4

      It is a thicker soft gel (soak-able) that has micro fibers mixed in to give more structure and durability to a natural nail.

    If someone wants to go from this product to a hard gel enhancement, can you apply synergy hard gel on top after filing down to a thin layer of fiber gel?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 года назад +3

      Yes, the hard gel should adhere over the Fiber Gel, but keep in mind that the Fiber Gel is a soft gel and more flexible than the hard gel. So if you need the durability of the hard gel, it is best to remove the remaining Fiber Gel.

    Can the fibergel be used to recreate a toenail that’s missing

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад

      It can be used to build out a short extension or if the corner of the toenail broke off, but if you are trying to build a whole nail, you may have better results with acrylic or hard gel as these are designed for sculpting and will have more durability.

    Is protein the same asp primer?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад +2

      Protein bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product.
