About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

You all bought an old delapitated chateau and turned it into an estate. Incredible! The tower cleaned is monumental alone. It is very exciting to see you all so proud of all you do.❤
It is beginning to look like a new build. Terry, Ash, and Tracy, I know the power washing is messy, but it makes a huge impact! That along with the beautiful garden. Ash, thank you for the garden update. Looking good. Paula, the gate is beautiful! So glad you and Rob are helping out. Rob, your sanding will make a huge difference in making the bedroom look like a million dollar restoration. I know we say it with every video, but we see everything coming together and that’s because of your dedication, planning and hard work. Seeing all the progress is a great motivator and gives you the energy to carry on. I can’t say it enough, great job!

Seems like the momentum is picking up... But you've all done so much in a few years.
1- the cottage for mom and dad, 2- the third flour flat, 3- guest suite, 4- massive outdoor relandscaping, lighting, entrances, 5- complete restoration of gates and drives and entrance walls, 6- reclaiming the formal garden and rebuilding collasped walls. Not to mention the caravans and parking areas, or the vegetable garden and chickens....
Whew. I would say you've all accomplished so much in such a short time. Kudos to the family and the visiting crews... SPECTACULAR !!!
I always thought it really strange how neglected property deteriorates far quicker than one that’s lived in even if no repairs are done to it . Hard work is paying off, it’s like taming the wild beast into a domesticated pet!

I have to comment again! I had to watch 3 times d/t diy interuptions home. The garden gate and grass are looking wonderful! I can't wait to see awnings repaired and painted ( I know it will be awhile) shutters repaired and going back up ( I hope you do) and all the lovely projects you have planned to bring this lovely grand old lady back to life. You are doing a fabulous job!

I really had no idea how you would ever be able to reach that little dormer that needs painting and was so pleased when I saw the scaffolding is set up to be able to paint it. Cleaning the tower is a massive job but it will make great difference and you can let out a sigh of relief. Beautiful job done on the gate Paula, smiled when I saw you tackling it. One can almost hear that side of the chateau scream with joy that the tower is finally be8ing able to be done…erecting the scaffolding, bring up supplies, redoing the window way up sat the tippity top…and getting over any frights about heights!!! That alone would stop me cold. Much many congrats on you all being able to do that high stuff.
Bleach and Water spray mixture works great on outdoor stone then power wash. Absolutely extraordinary family,sweet pets, dedicated volunteers, such an inspiring RUclips channel.
It is amazing how much you all have accomplished in such a short time. I think back to your earliest videos where you weren’t even living in France, Terry. How your Mom’s house was renovated while you folks lived in campers. I hope that you all can remember how much you have achieved during your time in France. Wonderful!
All through this video I was thinking about how much I admire you three for getting up to such heights. I would be trembling or outright scared stiff. Kudos too to Paula and Rob for the wonderful work they’re doing. That this is such a group project is a great part of the appeal.

I'm sure you've been putting off cleaning the tower until it absolutely needed to be done, because nobody wanted to go waaaay up there. But you pulled up your big boy/girl socks and did it anyway. You guys are incredible, pushing on through each job, no matter how difficult, dirty or downright scary it is! Kudos to you all. But wow, she is looking incredible!

Love how you are fixing the place up but honestly think one of the best things you have done s be so supportive of the local school and through that the local community, Nobody can accuse you of swooping in and beng aloof and snooty. ::bounce bounce:: I've been waiting for this! I remember you not wanting to use they hydrochloric acid originally, but I'm so glad you succumbed to the additional work. The difference is honestly astonishing. (and the window!!!) As always, kudos to Paula for her stellar painting skills, and Rob for his diligence in sanding (it makes an enormous difference to the end result).
