Ash, the garden is absolutely breathtaking. I can only imagine, in a couple of years, how it will look! My hat is off to you, Tracy, Terry, Shane,Karen, Rob, family n friends, and anyone else that has helped you all take a forgotten mess and turn it into something magical. It's been a pleasure watching your progress! Thank you. Oh, and most importantly and never to be forgotten to Patrick, your project manager, a huge thank you for all your long hrs of digging, supervision and moral support! Job well done to all!

Ash you did a phenomenal job recapping the video today! From the discovery of the garden, uncovering and clearing it, and sharing the plans for a wonderful formal garden that makes the chateau look grand. We see this was no easy task. Thank you to the LaLacelle team and their loving family, patreons and subscribers. The reward of your hard labors is evident. The beauty of the chateau is starting to shine. Keep up the great work! You were meant to do what you are doing. Thank you for sharing! We (subscribers) are proud of all your accomplishments! BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

The Garden will be perfect! I imagine the sunlight, the play of shades, the breeze, the birds chirp, the flowers aroma in the air, the movement of bees and beetles - the beauty and harmony for vision, hearing and smell.
And, I think the Sundial is on the absolutely right place. Both physically and symbolically.

I remember watching those first videos and telling my daughter “these people are living in caravans in the depth of a French winter while restoring a chateau!” It’s just amazing what you as a family have achieved, those 4 years have flown but ye gods you’ve all worked so so hard. It’s lovely watching how happy and proud you are of what you’ve achieved ❤️

I have goosepimples! I loved this before and after video! My father, who still maintains all of the gardens in front of his building, is 91yrs old. He keeps a notebook with his plant information, packets of seeds, dried specimens. When he was still a fireman, the front of his firehouse had 2 bare empty squares with dead trees in the centers near the sidewalk. After he got done with them they were absolutely stunning. The firehouse itself was one of the first in the city. Needless to say, it was a beautiful historical site to see! Sorry for the long comment. I just wanted all of you to know that many of us appreciate the massive task you all undertook with the chateau as well as the grounds. I, for one, have great admiration for all of you ❤

Ash, you are a natural in front of the camera. I remember every step of the way but re-capping the way it looked when you first walked through the property to where you are today in only a few short years is hard to fathom. So it’s a good thing it’s all on video because it’s really hard to believe. The garden is absolutely stunning and it’s as if the area between the two staircases was always meant to have a garden like this, but no one before you tackled such a huge project. Congratulations!!! ❤

I love the mulch idea. You can split the garden into zones. One zone on Monday, etc. That way it never gets overwhelming. I would also plant as many ground cover plants as possible. If you garden is full of them, there will be no room for weeds. And your life will be easier! And many of the ground covers are beautiful plants too.

A proper English garden is always breathtaking. I have some creeping snapdragons that shift locations in my gardens. You motivated me to work on my own overgrown garden. I removed all of the grass and thistle (that’s its own story) and planted and built it up with rich garden soil….gorilla hair mulch is next. It’s finely shredded cedar, so not to blow away in the wind. I have perennials that I plant in pots and then move them from time to time so they reseed in other locations…..works like a charm❤ THANK YOU, All, for motivating me…..much needed.

Weeding can get very overwhelming. Divide your garden into zones. Have a print out of the zones in your office. Weed each zone on a specific day.
Whoever feels like weeding that day knows exactly what zone needs to be tackled. Nothing gets forgotten and each sections gets tended to within a weeks period.
You may also look into applying pre emergent.
I put it on my lawn ( 3 times between February and May- growing Zine 9) and it made a big difference.
I sprayed it in the flower beds in Spring, but only one application.

Keep up the amazing work. When you find weeds, may I suggest that they are usually easier to remove when they’re wet, so try to pull them in the morning, after the soaker hoses have given them all a drink. Love the progress. Can I just say you done an exceptional job explaining all that has happened. We get it, we have watched from the beginning.
You sound so excited, I am excited for you . What you have all completed is so fantastic, and got us through the xhit. Made you get up and go do something, or you felt lazy. THANKYOU.

You all have done so much work. how it looks now seemed so far away to get to where its at now. BEAUTIFUL you three are force to be reckon with. You 3 should be very very proud of yourselves and Johnathan has learned life skills n hard work from you 3. Lucky boy sooner then u think will be to be young man by then the chateau will be completed
