    HOW TO ACTIVATE “SILENT MODE” on Snapsafe Under Bed Safe:
    I don't believe the Snapsafe comes standard with a silent mode which I was disappointed by. However, here’s a workaround I found:
    Remove the 4 screws behind the baseplate on the inside of the safe. On the circuit board there’s a circular plastic case- this is the speaker. Carefully remove the black circular cover with pliers (and hot glue securing it). Under, you’ll see a thin metal film with a magnet; Remove this, and the beeping becomes almost inaudible.
    If the magnet is placed back to its original location, it will beep as normal. Loud beeping is now optional!!
    Brief review: For me, the safe works as advertised and am happy with my purchase!

    I built our bed on a series of custom kitchen cabinet rigs with my Dad. It's moved with us across our last two homes and we love it. It raises the bed up much higher and makes for storage (originally, it was a playhouse for our daughter) and it's really a great way to go when it comes to sleep and storage. We've got a couple in our bedroom in a couple of spaces that are keypad/fingerprint activated. They're bolted to the places that they're hidden in the room.

      That sounds nice! Wish I had a bed like that. Funny story....I got this and it won't fit under the bed. Still sitting in the floor. Ugh! Really thought my bed set higher. So, now I have to get a new bed to use it. LOL

    Does the keypad light up at night? i also heard you could hold the ‘1’ key down and the keypad ‘beeping’ would be silenced. Can you confirm or deny if this is true or not? Thanks, awesome video.

      Thank you so much for the kind words. I sold this a while back as I needed to move to something larger. I don't remember the keypad lighting up at night. I wish I knew for sure but I really don't recall it doing that. I wasn't aware of holding down the 1 key so I no idea on that one. Sorry I didn't have more information for you. I really liked it a lot for the time I had it. I think it's a good one. I appreciate the comments and questions. I hope to hear from you more on some other videos.

    Are you able to bolt this type of safe to the floor or bedframe so it can't be easily picked up and carried away?

    • @DadsGarageDIY
      @DadsGarageDIY  9 месяцев назад +2

      You sure can. It has plugs in holes in the bottom so it can be bolted to the floor. Great question. Thanks.

      @@DadsGarageDIY Thanks for the response. I'm currently looking for this type of under bed safe, but not sure which manufacturer to go with. This one looked decent, but I also just watched a video on YT called "Rapid Safe Gun Safe Lock Fail" where a guy shows a similar model safe made by Hornady being easily unlocked with the plastic from a ballpoint pen, which is concerning.

    The size on this one is pretty amazing. How did the "in the dark" testing go? They keypad on the ones we have are solid and super-friendly to tactile feel even in a dark room.

      Hi Justin. I wish I still had it. I ended up needing something larger to store ammo. It was great while I had it. I can't find the inside dimensions. Only thing I could find was exterior. 40"W x 6"H x 22"D

      I think it would work fine. Looks like the longer of the 2 is the Ruger. I am seeing 37”. The interior width of this is 40”. It’s 22” deep so you could probably get 4 of them in there with room between each. Great question Chloe. Please help me out by hitting that subscribe button. I really appreciate it.

    • @DadsGarageDIY
      @DadsGarageDIY  2 года назад +2

      I don’t know if you can turn the beep off or not. But, it has a hole where you can mount the cable that comes with it so it can be secured to a bed.

    • @DadsGarageDIY
      @DadsGarageDIY  2 года назад +2

      No idea why anyone would not like it. I think it is fantastic! It is solid. I love it. I am curious as to what someone could not like about it. I have not had a single issue with it other than I assumed it would fit under my bed and didn't realize my bed was so low so I was unable to use it as intended. But, that's my fault. I am selling mine but only for that reason. I did use it for many months but I had it sitting on a cedar chest since it wouldn't fit under my bed. They have gone up since I bought it too. I looked the other day and it was $429. I paid $399. Anyway, you in my opinion you can't go wrong with it. And as you know if you follow me, even the stuff companies give me to review I shoot it straight whether they like it or not. LOL. But, this I paid for myself and love it. Not a thing I think I would do differently. Well, maybe if it were fire proof that would be nice. But....Great question TM. If you get one let me know what you think about it.
