    As an investigator with over 30 years on the job I can assure you that "any" residential safe and safe room/vault can be breached given the right tools and enough time. I've seen several collections in safe rooms with vault doors, rebar and concrete reinforced walls breached in under 40 minutes. The weak point of "safe rooms" is the ceiling... if you can't crane a hardened, poured one piece ceiling on top your fooling yourself. That said.... for 99% of those needing a gun safe these are plenty good enough. The vast majority of burglers are armed with a Wonderbar, screwdriver and hammer.... none of which will gain entry alone into a safe like this. I recommend these be used along with an alarm system.... that can cure the time issue. In addition, any safe should be fixed to the floor and weigh at least 700# .... most safes breached in 30 years that I know of weren't breached at the point they were stolen. They were simply hauled off and breached at will in a safe location for the perps...

    As for the safe, I can't imagine how long that will actually last in a fire. Those hinges are an easy attack point.

      Some unlucky thief could end up with a less than attractive stash of 6.72 PRC custom wildcat rifles.....and a ballester molena pistol.
      They will be tagged when they go to a local walmart asking for 6.72 PRC Core Lokt © ammo.
      And they will encounter the 5 remaining mountain dews...and 23 pre-scratched losing lottery tickets, and a 2 day old ham sandwich. That's how I make it tougher for them in my compound. That and my chihuahua death hounds. All will be deafened by their high velocity barks.

    It’s pretty interesting to see the comments from people who don’t want to admit that pretty much any safe on the market can be taken apart in minutes with an angle grinder and that fire rating is a poor substitute for insuring your firearms given that few guns survive fires whether they’re in a safe or not.

    • @johnmarcus2324

      just buy a real safe and not a metal cabinet. for a gun safe that about 5000 pounds and up.............. you wont get in a a few hours.... check out graffunder safes for example

    • @bannedbycommieyoutube5time920
      @bannedbycommieyoutube5time920 2 года назад +5

      @@johnmarcus2324 it comes down to practicality. Edit: we agree pretty much any safe is better than a gun cabinet.
      1. How are you going to move something that heavy in? How are you not going to damage your house when you do it?
      2. If you move, how are you going to move it? Odds are, you aren’t.
      3. How much does the safe cost vs. your collection of guns (including delivery and install).
      Bottom line is, less than 1% of people make a decision to get the level of safe you describe, even though many more than that can afford to do it. There are diminishing returns, all safes but the most extreme can be broken into.
      Most criminals don’t want to go through the hassle/risk and they look for plentiful, much easier targets out there.

      Any humidity in a gun safe (humidity is there whether there’s a dehumidifier or not) the guns get steamed like a pressure-cooker. Fire resistant/proof is smoke and mirrors. If guns get pressure-cooked, there’s a better chance than not you’ll at least find them with a coat of rust. Even if they don’t rust, they still could have gotten cooked enough that safety/reliability has been compromised. Try to explain that to an insurance company.

    • @Argentum88
      @Argentum88 2 года назад +1

      I have the single door smallest model and the door is the heaviest part at about 80 lbs. I imagine the heaviest single part on the XXL is probably no more than 150 lbs but it's definitely awkward weight so it's not something you want to put together on your own. Having another set of hands helps tremendously. A lot of these commentors completely miss the purpose of this safe. Most "gun safes" are way too heavy to transport and almost never move after being installed. These safes keep your investment in them by being way easier to disassemble and move. Once you settle into your forever home you can buy a traditional safe and be done. Thing is though all of them are glorified Residential Security Containers unless you actually build a bank like vault. Security needs to be approached in layers, if you don't have an alarm system then Safes are kind of pointless because they are meant to slow attackers down, not defeat them. With enough time all security can be overcome, that's why having a reaction force is critical.

      @WoodrowWoods2007 2 года назад

      All safes can be gotten into. And guns in a higher fire-rated safe typically don’t survive in an oven for that long. For gun businesses with good insurance, this makes more sense, I think.

    • @msa4548
      @msa4548 2 года назад

      @@WoodrowWoods2007 I know that nothing is impervious and they only slow down people trying to get into the safe. But using the recommendations I talked to the local fire chief about how long it takes to respond and control a typical fire in our area. He suggested 1 hour at 1500 degrees.

  • @notcrazy3715
    @notcrazy3715 2 года назад +1

    You should really talk to any fire fighter and have them tell you how much your fire rating is going to help you. Not to mention the 1000 gallons of water they will dump on top of it. Anything plastic or untempered glass is going to melt. You are better off building a secure room with secure lockers like ones from Secure It systems. For the cost of that safe you could have built a nice 10x10 room with fire retardant materials for about 5 grand

I like the modularity part but would have liked if you had gone into detail about the steel thickness and strength.
    That said, I appreciate you making the video, I hadn't seen a safe like this before. I just wish there was more information included. We have outgrown our current safe and so far, everything trustworthy has become cost prohibitive which is why this caught my attention.
