    That was so cute with your daughter! There is so much sadness, depression, anxiety, despair etc in the world. Why? It’s vomplex but the main culprit is we are taught by society, school, TV, music that we should be our own person, take control over things, stand out in the crowd, buy this buy that, get rich, make your own path. In other words become your own god. This is disastrous and the solution is so simple. Follow Jesus and you will be at peace and joyful despite suffering because He will give you the Grace you need through Mom.
    “Where theres a will there is a way.” This should be changed to “where there is God’s Will there is THE WAY.”

    I pray every day now, Thy will be done! I have a simple prayer that I ask Jesus to come into my mind, my eyes, my ears, my mouth and my heart and that in each one of these places Gods will be done that day! I say it in the Morning! Thanks for your message

      I have to agree, I'm glad your simple Prayer brings you peace, yet it's profound in its simplicity. I too would encourage you to pray the Rosary, this will bring you incredible peace. The Prayers are said like a mantra while you contemplate the mystery you are praying. God bless you 🙏

    What stood out to me was when you talked about people close to us “sleeping” when we needed their support, leaving us feeling alone. It immediately made me think of the people in my life and helped me understand Jesus’s sorrow.

    Thank you for this talk today (and for all the work y'all do!) I often come back to this scripture: "and he went away sad because he had many things." Which is immediately followed by, in my mind: "you cannot serve two masters...you cannot serve both God and mammon." Venerable Fulton Sheen said: "Grace isn't cheap." and thank God for that. Even though we know that Grace builds on nature, it can still be so painful to shed the skins of our past, and to look into the mirror of ourselves and with honesty and see the truth. Finding those things we hold on to dearly and giving them to God, no matter how it make us suffer, is a hopeful thing.

    Today's meditation was probably the most striking to me so far. Just the whole thing about giving your will for it to become God's will. Wow, this is what I have struggled with a lot and feel God is trying to soften me to.

    Jesus' presence has helped me to let go of material possessions, but I'm really struggling to let go of my 'past life'; the family I used to have. I'm grateful that He's patiently leading me, because it's taking quite a while to let go of them, and look forward instead of back. By the way, your hair in this video is perfect for Pentecost! God bless you

    Ken, I just saw this. What struck me was how Jesus, the Lord of Lord's, King of Kings submitted to Mary & Joseph for 30 years! The hidden life has always been mysterious to me. And why 30 years & not 20? So many days on earth. What did those hidden years accomplish? But I'll bet His love for His parents & neighbors was intensely joyful. Think of being a neighbor to the Holy Family! Wow! The kids that played w Jesus! Wow! Just rambling, but WOW! TY for your gentle, profound, fun & happy ministry. I LOVE the frustrations & difficulties. I grew up w 8 siblings. We weren't perfect but we were & still are tight! I only had one. Soooo lonesome. I call one & 2 children a "sample family!" May God bless you one & all!

    As a discern my call to religious life I know that God wants me to be joyful, where I can be myself without measure, and love without restraint… and ultimately my "yes" belongs to him . I can't begin to imagine what my life is going to look like. Whether I find myself in my brokenness and ignorance with enough wisdom to stay faithful to our Catholic tradition and the magisteriums teachings when I hear the clergy misrepresent what we have always believed is another story.

    Hi, Ken! You certainly got my attention this morning by the title of your posting - "Sad man!" I was concerned that something had happened to you or your family! Just shows what the mind can bring up - and it turns out to be nothing. Anyhow, I am glad you are happy in your new place in the countryside. It looks great. Indeed the story you shared, I can relate to. I am at that time in my life that I am retired and not able to follow big plans for the future. However, I have been sick, and not able to do too much for a couple of days, I was so frustrated, I wanted to make a good confession before Easter - the time was tomorrow, and I obviously can't go now. This has been really bothering me, but now I realize that the sickness might be all part of God's will and I shouldn't worry about it. I can go later - there are still a couple of weeks till Easter! Thank you for putting this into perspective for me.
    Keep the good work! God bless you!

    to me and why: if the choices we make are for the betterment of others, we can be assured we are choosing for HIM, but, if it is selfish, if it is for revenge of any kind, if it is wrapped in ego or tangled with manipulation, we have traded our day for the God of the world.

    brother, the rich young man was not asked to merely 'detach' from his wealth but to actually give it all to the poor. yes, all catholics are called to do that as you can read in the catechism also. but, as you mentioned, it is different for each vocation, yet families should live a minimalistic life too in my opinion ✌
    anyone interested to dive deeper into that topic can read 'who is the rich man that shall be saved' by clement of alexandria

  • @pkuefler8230
    @pkuefler8230 3 месяца назад

    It is an assumption that the rich young man said "no". He went away sad for he had many things. It takes greater faith to give up so much. I like to think he said "yes", and went away sad to carry out the difficult task. Whom among us would react any differently.

    I always wonder about this scripture. Because I own a home, a car and have food, I am considered rich in this world. The rich are the last to enter Heaven? What do we do? Sell our home and give the money away? What do we do?

      no, I want to disagree. the gospels were written down around 70AD and Paul's conversion was maybe 34, so the apostles who wrote the gospels knew Paul and would've mentioned him by name. Also I never heard of this theory, so I don't think so, sorry 🙏

    Hi Ken, i recently found your channel. I am 29 years old I am very firm that I am going to do God's work. I recently lost my job. I am going to attend sisters camp. But, i have around 2 lakh rupee as a loan. Haven't done anything for my parents. If i leave to religious life, asking my parents to pay my loan, is it right?

    • @TheVeiledMystic
      @TheVeiledMystic 3 месяца назад

      No, the Bible is very clear that you are to pay your debts before charity, and to honor your mother and father. Running away from your loan and putting it on your parents is breaking the commandments, and a religious order isn’t likely to accept you under those circumstances. All honest work is Gods work.

    It’s not easy to be a follower. I think it’s what puts many people off about Catholics or being Catholics. In their eyes, the church teaches the only way to heaven is through suffering. Everything is suffering. It’s not easy to explain and quite frankly it’s not easy to live by. It’s difficult to explain joy to people when they only think we suffer. I don’t believe that as Catholics we can’t have joy or fun.
