For anyone looking for a tune MGFlasher is better than BM3. Its cheaper, bit more power with the OTS maps, and they are more focused on the 4 cylinders. BM3 is more focused on the 6 cylinders and lately has been known for pushing updates without enough testing on them. If youre b48/b46 i recommend going with MGFlasher. Might upload videos soon of installing the tune and the differences on stage 1 that i have.
MGFlasher just seems so much shadier though. BM3 has proven history and performance, MGFlasher looks like some dude just made a tune and slapped it onto a website. MGFlasher also required an xHP transmission flash. BM3 does not and flashes the transmission mapping as well.
@@ShockwavesFTW Yeah at the time of this comment mg was making the most developments for the 4 cylinders and a lot of the faster guys were using it. I actually sold the car and got a m340 now so ill most likely go with ecutek

I FUCKING LOVE YOUR CAR! I've been a long time JDM owner, multiple WRX's, multiple Hondas/Teggys, 370z/350z, G35/37, Lexus ISF 2008! I've since joined the dark side and currently own and drive a BMW 340i! Absolute beast of a car, and the B58 is so smooth. I'm not sure why I had never thought of owning bimmers from the beginning.
Stage 1 tune for the b48 is nice. I've only been using it for a week. But I'm already itching for stage 2. The gains just don't look worth the cost to get the downpipe/install.
Yeah I see where you’re coming from. Stage 2 is always more of a pain to get to especially considering the cost and compromises of a catless/high flow catted downpipe
any updates? i have the same car 17’ 330i wagon! and ordered a cobra exhaust but now want to get intake, downpipe, and tune but can’t find many videos on b48
Would you say it’s worth to go to stage 2 considering the price of the mod requirements? If it's worth going to stage 2, would you recommend waiting until I have all the requirements to go straight to stage 2 or start off with a stage 1 then slowly move up to stage 2?
I believe the bundles will give you multiple OTS maps for a bundled price. So you can get a stage 1 and stage 2 OTS map, something like that. A multi map is multiple maps within one OTS map. But they won’t be multiple stages, just multiple variations of that stage you decide to go with. So I got a Stage 1 multi OTS map which gave me multiple variations of a stage 1 tune.
@AyyyMan Which weight/type of oil do you use in you 330i? Just got an 18 330IX and want to do an oil change but wondering if i should use something other than 0w 20?
So far I only did one oil change on the car since owning it. I stuck with the recommended 0w 20 for now as I didn’t see a need for something else. But I’ll definitely do a little more digging before my next oil change!
Unfortunately not… I wish though, that would be awesome! While tuned, once you put the car in Comfort and Eco, it will still be more subdued. You can also adjust the burbles to be quiet in comfort
It was super quick. Once they got it, they unlocked it the same day, shipped it back and Igor it the next day. The only thing is they’re only open weekdays 9-4 I think
So I found an issue out if you have the manual with a tune. There was a pause between gears and I couldn’t figure it out. Thought it was gas, boost leak etc. its the damn drivetrain setting in sport mode. Turn that shit off if you have the manual 330i b48. Only have chassis selected. My car has no lag between shifts now and is way faster for some odd reason. I have bootmod.
I have a 18 330i. Being my first bmw as my daily to go to the office and back. It drives so good. As far as reliability, I haven’t had it to long but have heard nothing but great things out of the b46/b48 engines.
I have a 2017 430i gc. Some videos on my channel! Super reliable only thing is the coolant line to the cylinders is prone to just snapping. Easy fix tho!
I can’t speak much for its reliability as I’ve only owned it for only 5k miles so far. But I’ve heard they’re very reliable. I will keep everyone posted if anything happens to it! Since I daily this car, I will be racking up miles pretty quickly

Hey so honestly I went with BM3 for two reasons. 1. It’s what I know. I used it for my 435i and had a great experience with it and just know it very well. 2. One video from the guy over at Vehicle Virals. He tuned his M5 with MHD and had some issues but got resolved when he switched to BM3. Overall I hear mostly great things about both. I assume MHD has options for the B46/48 given how popular it is but can’t say out of experience
JB4 is definitely cheaper and a great option. But not too much cheaper… If you want great power on a budget, look into the JB+. It’s only $240 and super easy to install. My previous video was about it actually
Check engine light? Oh you must mean the one when the car was in accessory mode? There’s always a check engine light in that mode but once I turn on the car, it goes away. That’s normal.
It’s recommended but not necessary. I never have but I’m not worried about my battery cutting out in the short time it takes to tune. If you’re worried about your battery, I would recommend a battery charger
I noticed about a 3mpg drop when driving normally in stage 1. However, because I did the multi map, I keep it in the stock map, so original mpg, when commuting and bump it to stage 1 when i wanna have fun
