    I’m about 210 lbs and the suspension carries me over the back country with no issues at all. Of course I’m not jumping my bike and treat it kindly, I’m 71 and I’m expecting this bike to last me as long as I’ll be riding. I don’t bother spending money and time with upgrading, over 55 years of riding I’ve learned to be content and to spend my money and time enjoying riding rather than “keeping up with the Jones’s”.
    I love my 300 Rally right out of the box. The only “upgrade” was a small lift of the handlebars and a set of lower crash bars, which proved beneficial last year.
    I would buy this bike again in a heartbeat!👍👍👍

      @PatchedBandit  Год назад +1

      I would prefer summer but winters are so long I can't wait :D There is not actually that much difference with a good set of studdies to ride in wintertime. It is scetchy at points on deeper snow and grooves but it's feels pretty much the same as deep sand :)

    I’m addicted to my 300L and enjoy riding it too. I went with AXP for the rear chain guard, skid plate and rear rack. They’re very light and durable. I agree with your review they’re great bikes!

      Right on! I had some minor issues fitting the axp skidplate with the accessories provided and the chain quide was 3D printed a bit off so I had to dremel the screw holes and use different washers there too.
      I would say AXP has some QC issues at least on the products they sent me but I got them working fine with a bit of fiddling about 😊 Enjoy the bike ✌️

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  Год назад +3

      That is probably true. With the maintenance schedule of this Honda I think it would be a perfect companion on long trips and wouldn't be so intimidating on some more tricky trails.
      I have a bad back and I'm always a bit afraid with the Tenere that I cant recover if I get in a bad spot.
      With the Honda I don't feel any of that. Just a couple of days ago I was stuck in 1 meter of soft snow and still managed to get it out! Wonderful feeling when you can just go try stuff and go anywhere without too much worry :)

    Hi! would you recommend ABS version over the standard brake version? Have you turned ABS off now that you have more experience with the bike? (Latin America gets both versions, off-course ABS a little more expensive) Nice ride!!!

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  10 месяцев назад +1

      Depends on the use case. ABS can be nice in situations that come as a surprise like on the road having to make an emergency brake. Most riders lock the front wheel and go flying without abs.
      BUT if you ride mostly offroad and do stoppies and other hooligan stuff primarily with the CRF then I would go with the NON abs model.
      ABS adds a tiny tiny bit of weight and as you said it's more expensive.
      For normal riding I would go ABS. Stunt and 100% offroading I would pick the non-ABS.
      For me personally I like to know the abs is there to save me from a hairy situation on road riding sections riding to trails. Offroading it's pretty pointless though.

    • @PatchedBandit
      @PatchedBandit  Год назад +1

      Tough to say as I have not ridden the Rally but all else being equal its the same bike with or without the windshield. Rally has more range but it is also fatter between your legs.
      I prefer the slimmer bike as my main focus for this ride is offroading.
      If I would be doing long trips with a lot of paved roads I would probably pick the rally for the windshield and larger tank.
      But you can also buy acerbis tank for the 300L to improve the range. As this is not my only bike I prefer to have the 300L 😊
      Sitting on both bikes tells a lot so I would try to even see both before buying.
