  • So what keeps a master distiller of 25 years up at night while making tequila? Why is the red soils and highlands a competitive advantage for Embajador Tequila?
The passion of the people behind the brand and its location in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico is truly special for Embajador distillery.
➡️ Embajador is produced in small batches to focus on the brands consistency and quality principles. They produce their Tequila using only 100% Blue Weber Estate Agaves grown from the Highlands and this region in the valley of the Highlands of Jalisco is distinctive with its nutrient rich red clay soil and its natural spring water aquifer that runs through the land.
It is one of the natural elements of this region and the essence that gives Embajador Tequila a few of its distinguished characteristics.
I hope everyone enjoys the episode and sees firsthand the passion of the people and hard work making tequila and the unique red soils that the agave grown in from the Jalisco Highlands.

Pretty good video. I would have liked to go more into the respective product... but well...
The only mistake I could make out was, when it was mentioned that the CRT ensures, that the tequila is the best quality possible and that is simply not true.
Tequila is a protected origin (origin, methodology, starch sources etc). Hence to be legally called Tequila, the producer has to ensure that all minimum standards are met - and if the brand “promises” some higher qualities (e.g. aged tequila or 100% agave tequila) that also these standards are met.
But the CRT is not there to ensure that the tequila has more than the legal minimum quality. (It is the same confusion with hotels - only the fact that a hotel has 5 stars doesn’t mean, that it is the highest quality - it just offers some (higher) minimum standards. It’s kinda quantity (of standards) over quality (which is far more difficult to determine).

Thanks so much for the comment and information/clarification about the CRT. I appreciate it. This was the final episode about tequila we filmed 4 total and i tried to compliment each episode with different information about tequila while also highlighting different brands. Cheers and appreciate you taking time to write this. -Jeff

Hey thanks so much for the comment and great question! If it was me I would choose Cascahuin which makes amazing tequila in traditional way. I would also search TequilaMatchmaker website and search top distilleries. Grover and Scarlet would give best advice (they run the site) on this and would send them a message in regards to this. Thanks, Jeff
