Hands down the best thing going! This has been my go to video for this song for a couple of years now. Just epic! Cheers mate! 🇦🇺 I tell anyone that will listen to me to watch this
Metal is generally happy in its riffs and I grew up hearing this on the radio and I thought it was more a post punk tune or at least a go to answer to the movement away from what most call punk. What do I know. This is a magnificent cover of a fantastic game changing song. I’m just a listener
Between this and the guy doing ‘Wild night’ by Van Morrison ( happyhotstars is the guy. Nice natural strat) I think I’ve watched this, in one hit, at least a dozen times if not more. A great guitar cover played with genuine love is so good for the soul
Our band does this and four other Cure songs in our setlist. I pride myself on the fact that I find Robert Smith the easiest of most singers to cover vocally. This is my favourite of the The Cure's songs and love playing it and singing it live. We usually finish a set with this song.
How do you play that little part that plays for 2 bars before the vocals set in? I cant get it to sound just right.. I get it closer to your sound on the A 0 and 3rd fret and D 0 and 2nd fret.... Might be my flanger though..
No way of knowing the brands he's using but I usually use reverb until the bass hits and then add a flange on top of it after that for the swooping sound, though I don't know the whole song, just the intro.
I know exactly what Robert Smith used on this song. At the beginning it's a bit of flanger , then delay, chorus and reverb. The effects do get heavier later. Bob uses Boss FX(although any brand would do). There is a site called 'Tone Overload' that has his exact settings. Just Google 'what effects does Robert Smith use on 'a Forest' and that site will come up. I remember when I got my first Flanger pedal and this song instantly came to mind.
Songsterr has a pretty good tab for the solo part at least.. And of you look up the acoustic version on the same app the tab for the verses and interludes are also pretty correct
@@jefft5854 it's not easy because it's all down picked /strummed at 160 bpm roughly. The chords and solo are easy to learn but getting the rythem at speed it tricky
@@jefft5854 You're right. For example for me this song is easy because the most of riffs I play are punk so tempo of this song isn't really hard for me 😅
esta bueno, pero deberias usar mas las otras cuerdas mientras canta xD digo... la 6ta no es la unica q tenes, es mas facil tocar las otras q ir por todo el mastil :p
Nice song, one of the best cure songs
Greatest cover/play along ever.
Love the guitar lead at the end. So simple yet so powerful

theinternetisokayy Nah, it’s a jazzmaster.
The jaguar has standard single coil pickups like you would see on a Stratocaster.
@@bushwhackedonvhs ohh alright, thanks man!
Robert's guitar is a Jaggmaster
@@diegogamboazuasnabar4003 robert uses Schecter guitar back back in the early 80s he used jazzmaster
Now if only we could all sing like Robert
I will be back to figure this out. Sounds pretty accurate. Good job.

No disrespect to the cure, but that is very easy to learn
@@gm3043 right, especially the first part :) i haven't tried the rest yet😂

Wow beautiful girl
I was covering this song just now.
What strings are you plucking? And do you know where you can get tabs for how you played it? I want to learn this song for a music assessment.

nice!
Does anyone have the link to a tab/video for the last part of the song??
Thanks :)

this song is not that hard to learn
Absolutely. Thousands of wrong covers, where they play their mf power chords, prove it :)

Super easy indeed, it was the first song I could play from start to finish. It does not make it any less awesome ;)
