The bass in this song is legendary.
Simon Gallup. The best bass sound of ever
The bassist creeps me out lmao
Группы зарубежные все просто чума
Because Gallup is one of the 20 best bassist ever in the rock history
Abel Klerkx best bass ever ,I don't know about that .but it makes this track just a bit more specialist
This is the most amazing version of this I have heard! Sound Engineer deserves a massive bonus.
Hellyeah they make a perfect sound
absolutely! i enjoy this live version more than the original. the guitarsound is so magical. but i guarantee you that this is high end live sound. wonder who the guy is who is mastering pinkpop

Robert Smith is 60 years old, but his voice is like he was still 20. Amazing!!
Agree. Quite impressive!!
His body is like he's 120. 120 kilos.
Agreeeeee
I second that .. Brilliant voice
Smith appears to be the Dorian Gray painting for the rest of the band. Sounds great, though.
Sound engineer deserves an award.
The cure had amazing sound at a festival I saw and no one else sounded that good. I think they carry their dude around on tour. Also best live show I've ever seen, I cried like 10 times.
Mix is immense, makes or breaks a song like this
I agree, impeccable mix.

Amen, sister!
Since 1984... :)
Good to see young people listening to The Cure.
probably as popular as ever with the amount of good music being made today that has that bit of cure influence
Wall Yoof proper music, mate. Amen. 👍
I thought exactly the same!
@Wall Yoof fantastic my friend..!!! Im 43 and for the life of me I cannot/ willnot entertain music by stormzy or anything similar. It has no comparison to the bands you mentioned and many others from the past. Carry on listening to them..👍✊
I cannot see old people among the fans... I cannot see old people on the stage either.

God bless you too ferraz
Hearing The Cure forty years after.... (still)
I've listened to the cure since they started in 1979
luciano ferraz saw these guys last year or so, outdoors in Vancouver- just a few thousand of us. it was awesome.
(Saw them twice in ‘89 too- (disintegration tour).
And "Siouxsie"!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am 64 and still listening to the Cure yaaaay
And ..... 62 and LUCKY enough to have seen the Cure 3 times at various stages of my youth. I can reminisce because I survived!
The first gig they ever had was supporting my friend's band in London
I saw them in 1980 at Newcastle university, I got in on the guest list as I knew someone on the Stiff records tour
and rightfully so
It must be a cure against getting older Anne. I'm 62 and I still like em.
I come back to this performance time and time again just to see the audience.
From 1979… just think about that…. Such a fantastic track that would still sound new if released today. Classic
..isn't it today, still?..
Wait it’s from ‘79!? It still has a very 80s goth vibe to it. Damn they were ahead of the game or either lead the game! 😮 And their sound today still sounds fresh and tight, even Rob’s voice still sounds incredible!
@@maria-melek the thing music wouldn't sound like it does today, without this song! love it :D

Amazing band. Still sounding fresh after all these years!
I had to close my eyes because portly Robert Smith makes me giggle, but with my eyes shut, they sound amazing. This is the first Cure song I ever heard (circa 80-81) and also my favorite. If they didn’t do it justice, you’d hear about it. They more than do it right here.
I have no grounds to make fun of Smith’s weight. I’ve gained a few as I aged and I’m only six years younger than him. But I can’t help myself. If they played near me, I’d go in a heartbeat (and I’d probably need to be led around blindfolded).
Right xx
I watched a video of this song played in 1981...!!!! WOW....I prefer this version.

When olders are cooler than youngers...the cure is a classic
the olders ARE cooler!!
As an old one, I couldn't agree more !
As yet another oldie I'm not gonna dispute this but isn't the really cool thing that a band we grew up loving over 30+ years still kicks as hard for our children and even grandchildren, That is for sure the mark of true greatness. I don't play the favourite game but make the exception for the Cure since no-one has ever stayed close for me.
Quality over quantity.
Because they played with heart, they created music to express their emotions and talent. Today’s music is not honest, however is not bad. Eighties were like discovering new worlds.
Legend song.
Hello from México. I am about to listen to this live for the very first time, November 2023. I don't know what to feel................
how many bands have teenagers and pensioners bouncing around next to each other all gothed up.....fantastic
I would never use the music term goth for Cure. Their music is described better as Dark Wave or Post Punk. Gothic Rock is generated by other bands like Bauhaus, Sister Of Mercy, Rose Of Avalanche e.t.c. BTW, if you like it name it as you wish.
I’m nearly 60 and my ( almost) 24 year old daughter love The Cure...they transcend all barriers..this is epic
YES, I agree, nothing like great music to break down the barriers of age. It is wonderful to see.
Sure , the goth style is old enough but Robert Smith in his early interviews had refused the term of being a gothic band, despite Cure's look. Cure's early music style till "Pornography" album is better described as Dark Wave or Post Punk rather than gothic.
A lot of bands...for example Slayer..Deep Purple....Dead Kennedys...ZZ Top.....Iron Maiden....Judas Priest just a few...there are a lot of more bands with pensioners and teenagers in concerts!!!
That is a massive bass sound. love it

One of my favourite tunes of all time.....absolutely cracking.
My favorite part of this video is when the camera cuts to the young kid in the audience. He looks up and realizes that he’s on the big screen. He doesn’t have a phone up, there’s no smile or wave.. He doesn’t even acknowledge the fact that he’s being projected to the large audience. He just looks back at The Cure.
