Yummy. These are like the survival food I made for my brother and I when we were very young boys. Usually, I only had beans, but I would fry them up and stack them in the oven on warm and we would grab them whenever we were hungry. To make them a bit tastier and to keep them from drying out I ran a cold chunk of butter over the top of each one as they came out of the hot oil (just a little) and sprinkled them with salt.

These were absolutely marvelous. And I made your home made refried beans using the “fat cap” on some grass fed ground beef I had canned so this was really a quick meal. I used the Instant Pot to make the beans to save time. My hubby loved them. Thanks so much for sharing.
