The video does not even begin to suggest the power of that voice. I was there and she simply overwhelmed Carnegie Hall with her immense voice. In person she sounded like if she had 10 microphones amplifying her voice but of course that sound was hers alone.
It is strange that of all her RUclips videos this is the only one that really gives you a sense of the amazing, effortless size of her voice. As Amneris she was jaw dropping and it was the biggest voice I ever heard live.
I saw phenomenal performance of Stephanie Blythe in "Die Fledermaus" by J.Strauss (Prince Orlofsky). She is the incredible actress and mezzo-Soprano. She took ovations of all theater, and she deserve it! Thank you for your Art!
She sings incredibly well and has maintained her voice wonderfully. The only detraction from this performance is that she sounds out of breath everywhere and throws away ends of phrases or rushes them. I don’t know if it’s because she’s nervous, or because of her age, or because her weight puts a tax on her.
it seems you - and several of us - have been seen as snobby for seeing the foolishness and tackiness of cellophane wrapped around those sweet, humble and neighborly carnations. Three things I instantly noticed... how the artist does not match the music. how alarmingly out of breath she is and now she cuts off the not so high notes asap. and how silly those flowers look in those cellophane condoms. They aren't poison... you want to throw me a flower, Stephanie? Toss it over, I can deal with touching a bit of Mother Nature in the raw.

As an RN who has taken care of patients who weigh in excess of 500 lbs, I can agree with this comment. There are zero health benefits from morbid obesity. This isn’t “fat shaming”, it’s being brutally honest.
