My peak college hoops fandom in the mid 2000s as a teenager, soundtrack to many winter nights. I’d watch damn near every game I could regardless of conference/matchup. Better times.
@@southerncard4956 - I'm a (extremely depressed and disgruntled) Louisville fan too, don't enjoy the ACC at all, never have. Big East was life. I grew up with Louisville in the Big East, 28 now. It still is my favorite conference too. Half the conference was ranked at times, NBA arenas in big cities.
They changed their theme song in fall 2011. They'd used this one from about fall 2004- spring 2011. This brings back memories of watching Big 12 games as a little kid. Like, back when Michael Beasley was big.
Do you also have the alternative themes for this theme song from 2004-2011? This theme song brought back memories of when the Fighting Illini made its last Final Four appearance in 2005 the first year of this theme song!
They need to bring this version back. The new one is so blah. If ppl can be experts on wine, or cigars, or etc, I should be able to be an expert on sports theme songs... and this one is scientifically better than the new ESPN CBB theme!
The decline in quality between this and the current ESPN CBB accurately reflects the decline in quality among ESPN programming overall between then and now. The Big Ten, Mountain West, Big East, and A-10 were smart enough to realize this and find better TV partners. (Yes… I know ESPN airs a small package of A10 Friday night hoops, but the majority of their games air on USA, CBS, or regional sports networks.) As a Duquesne fan, thank GOD I don’t often have to put up with the crapshoot network ESPN has become.
#2 greatest sports theme of all-time time, edging out the old NHL on ESPN theme, but NBA on NBC is the undisputed heavyweight champion of sports theme songs.
SO much better than the cringe theme ESPN uses today. Like with literally everything else about ESPN, it's just not as good as it once was.
This theme's a banger. You know it's college basketball time when this plays.

This!
This brings me back to the glory days of the Big East! Pitt, UConn, Syracuse, Gtown, WVU, it was incredible.
I enjoy the ACC being a Louisville fan but nothing will ever top the old Big East. Such a powerhouse league.

I love this theme!
@Nigel Thornberry. This one is so much better than the current one! What a shame they replaced it a year ago!
I forgot how good this theme used to be.
This is the theme that I always associate with regular season college basketball. Shame ESPN did away with this theme years ago.
Better than the 2011-Present theme.
Brian Plays Hello
Loved the graphics and sponsor music from this era! What a shame they had to change it back in 2011 and then make it a lot worse a year ago!
Brian Plays still the best college b-ball theme besides the tournament theme song
Yes. Makes primetime games feel more epic.
#bringbackthistheme
They should bring back this theme for. Not that I dislike the current one. This one just makes primetime games feel more epic.
TSN in Canada still uses this for their march madness coverage
RIP John Saunders
ESPN should have never change this theme song for their college basketball coverage.
THE BEST THEME TO THE BEST SPORT TO THE BEST COMPETITION EVER ..I'M SO HYPE. ..NCAA BBALL IS BACK BABY ..!

I think you can find those on Television Tunes.
The theme I learned to love the sport to
Dawn and the girls taking no prisoners.
Reminds me of WVU’s final four run!!
Inject this into my veins
I miss this theme! The best one they ever had!

Can you find and upload the Holiday Hoops one? It was like this one but spruced up with chimes and stuff for the holidays.

This theme was for when the Hoyas was dominating the Big East!
Do you have the Star Watch / Starting Lineups theme from this era? Think it was the same theme around 2006 or so?
Lets go 'Tecs!
Elite
We used to be a proper country…
Every time I hear this song it means it’s time for the MSU Spartans to take the court and win championships!
