You are so very kind to respond to me, and I thank you!! I look forward to watching this video! I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and a magical New year! Love,Bonnie@@snowpony001
I’m from southern Ontario Canada and this was suggested! I loved the entire segment, in looking for more, saw the condolences and realized I was lucky enough to keep watching more! I’m so sorry ❤️🙏
I will be making Mr Paul's perfect Yorkshire puddings later, for my family's Christmas Day, roast beef dinner. And we will all raise a glass to this very special and much-missed gentleman. A huge Thank You for maintaining his excellent RUclips channel. 'Mr Paul's Pantry' is a truly superb resource for home cooks. It is fantastic that his legacy of delicious, unpretentious food lives on, through the magic of video. God bless Mr Paul and all who mourn him. Among those who feel his loss deeply, are of course, his three beloved rescue dogs - one of whom was so shy, she chose to live in his garden shed. We frequently saw two of them snoozing on the sofa in the background as he introduced his videos. I would dearly love an update on his three dogs, as I'm sure would many other viewers. I know they lived and ate like kings with Mr Paul, and I'm praying they were adopted to equally loving forever homes, after the trauma of losing their lovely master.
I've been hoping to cook decent roast potatoes for years, what an honour to now have this knowledge from this wonderful man. Merry Christmas to all the family and thanks for giving us all a priceless gift. R.I.P Mr Paul.
Mr Paul - a gentle sweet person. We miss you. To the channel administrators: THANK YOU for re-posting and letting other cooks enjoy the recipes.. This one is a honey. Or as Mr Paul says "a bit of a fiddle" but well worth it.
I have tried Mr. Paul's roast potatoes and yes they are delicious. Once again, thanks for sharing and wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 filled with love, joy and peace during this time.🙏💕
What a wonderful tribute to Mr. Paul. His RUclips videos are my cooking encyclopedia. Such sage information. Merry Christmas to Mr. Paul’s family and friends. He is sorely missed! ❤️🙏🏻 God Bless
Lard!! My mother used lard for so many things and her cooking was always delicious. We were never overweight, especially since she controlled the portions. Cooking oil was a new thing, she'd use it with cake mixes, but that's about it. I can't wait to try this recipe, I just need some (Canadian) nice russet potatoes....I think they will do well. Thank you for this recipe, indeed, made me hungry. Subbed to your channel, going to look at your repertoire of delicious recipes. Thank you again!! So sorry, reading other comments learning of Mr. Paul's passing....my condolences. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I see this post today and found out about Mr Paul's passing. I'm so sad and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I did this for Christmas dinner and my adult children said how good they were. I am also doing Mr Paul's Apple crumble but without the cider as didn't have any. Merry Christmas to your family and friends Mr Paul and thanks for helping us cook better xx

This is an interesting recipe due to the secret. I will try it tomorrow evening. I am sorry to have missed out on Mr Paul. I did look back at his farewell/notice of a month ago, and happily noted a wonderful and helpful life as magician, performer, pewter caster, etc. What a great man. Best wishes from New Jersey USA.

Is there a written recipe for these potatoes? They look delicious! I am here for the first time and I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. I really enjoyed his video.
My sincere condolences to the family. ❤ I made these and they were delicious. Although I cut the potatoes up too small but I know better for next time. Bless him and your family

Didnt no.mr paul.had passed away,my condolences.to,there family .his baking ,was a great pleasure,of learning recipes ,what a brilliant ,man ,and baker he was .👍👍👍.RIP.mr paul.👍
@ Baking soda creates micro pockets in the surface of the potatoes and this craggy surface helps with the crisping up in the hot oil in the hot oven. Some people pre-blanch their chips in baking soda water before deep frying for the same reason.

What temp do you roast the potatoes? His transcript says 220 but that seems awful low for roasting. I’m in the US. Thanks in advance.
The temperature would be in °celcius an not Fahrenheit. Also best to use lard. Just follow his instructions 😊

220C would be 428F
221C would be 429.8F
222C would be 431.6F
