Hey Jason I have a iPhone 6 in at present for a screen replacement but I find that before prompting to boot it is drawing 0.00Amps and when you prompt it to boot that the Apple logo flashes up and then the display goes dark but if you lift up the screen you can see along the bottom edge of the display that there is backlight and the phone is drawing 0.60Amps of current but if you disconnect and reconnect the usb cable it is drawing 0.08Amps of current which I would suspect a partial short to ground maybe ?
Also once the board had been removed from the housing I could that the vcc main cap and and a couple of RF resistors were missing from the board next to the wi-fi chip one rated at 10K and the other rated at 100K and no shorts detected on any of them lines before or after replacing the missing cap / resistors and from what I can no long screw damage.

Hi Jason I hope u can give me some advice. I have an IPhone 5c which has a display. Apple logo comes on and then the home screen comes on for 5 sec (touch doesn't work). Then fades out then no display or buttons don't respond. Am I right to be looking at the porxy lines?

Would it be possible to transplant the memory storage chip to another phone with a good motherboard to recover the data or is the flash storage hard-coded to the motherboard?
With iPhones the data on the NAND(data chip) is encrypted, only way to access it is to get the phone to a state where you can passcode unlock it.
You can swap the NAND to another board- but it won't boot unless you also swap the CPU and eeprom over.
Swapping the CPU is the biggest problem with this, as it's an underfilled chip that's easily damaged and hard to swap successfully, even in the hands of the most experienced techs.
Generally a last resort, far easier to just fix the long screw damage in this case.

A short screw in every hole or like, a plate separating the bottom of the hole from the PCB, something to try to protect from instant damage.

I see some board repair guys have expensive gear like 900$ Hakko Hot air guns, 2.000$ ultrasonic cleaners an other stuff. But you have not so expensive gear. Like Ayoue hot air, a 60$ ultrasonic. The question is: do we really need the expensive stuff to make board repair?
