I can't believe at ANY point in time a roll cage made of ALUMINUM was EVER acceptable. On top of that, these were the craziest rally cars to have ever existed. Those drivers had bigger balls than anyone watching this video.

Gotta love the 20v 5cyl. I don't care if you're a domestic guy, honda fan boi, etc. One of the most badass drivetrains ever created, in one of the coolest cars ever made and with such a deeply rooted racing history. Awesome work! Thank you for sharing. What a gorgeous example. The only thing I dislike is the lack of stainless brake hoses. Not sure why they used the rubber lines instead. Definitely a big difference in pedal feel with the braided brake lines. Other than that, this is basically a dream car, so minty I would almost be scared to bring it out, worrying some dumbass driver would hit me, or a jealous person vandalize it. Bet those trx tires weren't easy to find. I know in the states they are. Found that out when I bought my first e28. Michelin is one of the only manufacturers afaik that still produces them. Upgraded to a set of staggered BBS style 5's, and brought the metric wheels to the scrap yard for $60 in scrap aluminum. Problem solved lol. Beautiful work! One of the nicest Audi's I've seen no doubt.
It is not a 20V Engine , its the original 10V . They used the " old" rubber brake hose because the car was equipped with it at the time. It wasn't about building a better car, but rather restoring it to its original state.
Dear Holly gentlemen, only God can bring a dead body back to life and you.🌈👌🏻🌹🤔 If I want to show any one how in judgement day God will bring back people to life !!! I will show your extraterrestrial holly work. My 💖 is very small but it loves you and your work as big as the universe.
Audi used a body in the competition for a maximum of one year. After tough rallies and when a lot of repairs were made to the body or it just became "soft", it was exchanged. The car was then rebuilt with the old technology (or with improvements) and a new body, the old bodies were sold to private drivers. For example, IN-NL-67 exists 3 times. 1 vehicle is said to have Hanlon, the second I visited a collector in Ingolstadt myself (he even has the workshop books for it, every work on the vehicles was recorded there) and number 3 is the car here. No great emphasis was placed on corrosion protection for the cars because they were quickly replaced anyway, and this would only have been additional weight. At that time, the cars were "only" sports equipment, they only became valuable later.
The fuse panel in the car marked for ejection seats. Who says Germans don't have a sense of humor? Although the original aluminum roll cage makes me wonder. No wonder Group B got banned.

I'm so jealous. This is my dream car. I think this is how heaven looks and feels like.
The best restoration I see in this car by far. 10/10. Amazing job. Congratulations for whole team.
Best rebuild I have seen. That passion and overkill presision is overwhelming. Thank you for this ❤
Love the PAINT JOB, THE WHOLE RESTORATION. GREAT JOB, GUYS.

Never knew they used the 10v in any group b cars whatsoever. Guess I'll have to look into that.
@@psavel274 Up to the A2 Version they used the 10V Engines . The Sport Quattro was the first with 20 V engine - you can trust me ....
@@psavel274 By the way - what kind of Cylinder head you see at 28:37 - how many valves per cylinder ? ;-)
32:20 я думаю это сделано путем анодирования.
I think it's done by anodizing.
The photos on Makela's page were the blueprint for our replica . But what is NOT true, Makela had refused to answer questions about the car / body

amazing...how much time and money did this take??

Мое имхо, у нового авто не было шпатлевки 100%, это не минус, но все же если хотите делать оригинал, то без шпатлевки.
Damn Bro Your ads So many I guess You have new car Now
I expect that the reason it's such a rust bucket is because all the metal surfaces had to have been left bare so they could be tech inspected.
