    Stunning work. My only negative would be possibly approaching the line between historical original and soulless replica.

    A friend of mine’s mom had a 1983 Celica. They bought it brand new and had it for many many years. This one had a 5 speed (I think) manual transmission. Said friend’s mom bought a Ford Escort ZX2 (also brand new) back in 1998 and her husband took the Celica, after he sold his 1966 Mustang, which was his daily driver.

    Being a Nissan guy, I never realised those old 'fork lift engines' were only 8 valves.
    I wrongly assumed that the twin cam was a 16v.
    Amazing how Yamaha could turn a slow old pushrod engine into a fire breathing DOHC race engine 👌

    • @ToreDL87
      @ToreDL87 Год назад

      Tosco (old TRD name) also "did a OS-Giken" and made some very naughty 16v heads for the old pushrod engines, 137E for the K's (with mechanical ITB's from Denso), 151E for the T's and 152E's for the R's, the two latter making as much all-motor power as Millington's bespoke in-house Cossie-based engines make today.

    Excellent craftsmanship!
    29:38 and 38:33, the hydraulic e-brake and throttle pedal plate on my vintage Gr.A rolla looks EXACTLY like that, are those old shelf-items or very typical pattern for rally Toyota's at the time? Or was my car possibly reconfigured by the same guys way back then? If so I'd like to get in touch with them because I have a literal TON of questions 🤣

    • @ToreDL87
      @ToreDL87 Год назад

      No point, new framerails & rockers were made anyway, that's about the only places rust can hide from shot blasting.

    That car was worse than dog rough
    Looked like it had done season after season on gravel
    It’s basically now a replica using the original shell for measurement and original weld sizes and locations of fabrication
    Not a original car
