Sup Guys. As I undertook the installation of Monkey Wrench Racing’s Short shifter, I had no complaints at all. Just when I thought the cable shifter brass bushings, did the trick. The short shifter was the final topping to a delicious Pizza 🍕. Gearbox is going out the door so tear down will be coming soon stay tune on that as well.

Instead of using another person. You can use a socket to install the clip.

I’ve got the euro spec E120 Touring with the 5 speed. That transmission truly is ridiculously nice for what it is, the shifts are so crisp as you say, it’s like shifting a race transmission lmao. Probably gonna replace the bushings soon though, I’ve started to wear them out from downshifting so much lol
What clip is the odd "U" shaped tool for? The one that you suggested we remove with a putty knife/flathead screwdriver?

Did you have to change the orm boot? I installed it on my 05 corolla xrs and the mwr shifter is wider than oem past the threading and won't fit. What did you do to fix fhat?
And it is noticeably harder to put it in reverse? Like mine is pretty stiff and takes a good amount of strength to pull it left
Right not it’s just dangling lose and not paid much annoyance to me. (I’m a bit sloppy on some things 🥴) I do plan to get a new one but if it comes out big again. I plan to just put a rubber band around it for now.
Yes mines the same when it comes to reverse. It’s just the physics of the nature. Any vehicle with a short shifter will do same thing. It’s just one of the down falls about it when comes to it.
Would this work mod on a Corolla Allex Zze123??
I would Email Monkey Wrench Racing and see if it does. I honestly wouldn’t know.
What exhaust set up is on the xrs?
Cat Back, Resonator delete with a Flowmaster Super 10. If curious more about it, mod list is in the description 🙂
