I am a high handicapper who had voke wedges but bought these wedges and never looked back, great wedges and easily already took 4 shots off my handicap.

One of your better videos...really like how you spent a good bit of time testing outdoors with a variety of shots. Interesting on having a better smash factor with all 3 wedges versus your gamers. Might be a good option due to larger bounce for fall-winter-spring golf when courses are wetter/softer. Not sure about chipping from tight lies during warmer and dryer months. Thanks for reviewing these.

I love these wedges. I had traditional style wedges 50 and 56 swapped them out for these but kept a traditional 60 degree with 8 degree of bounce for compact sand tight lies etc. they give me more confidence when playing full shots and 3/4 shots from 80 yards an in. I love the wider sole when chipping around the green especially on bare lies or muddy lies it’s almost like a chipper

Thanks for the video. Partially based off this review my n00b skill level lead me to buy a 54 and 60 of these to compliment my Titlist AP1 set. I didn't get to demo one because of covid so it was a bit of a gamble. I love the feel and performance compared to a pair of beat up Vokey's I started with. The bounce and grind play great for me. Being able to custom order them with XP105 shafts and the exact grip to match my irons for less than $10 extra sealed the deal for me. I guess I need to take a good look at an Odyssey now, the graphite shafts look wild, haha!

Good video, I'm a 14 HDCP and play pretty well but give up a lot of shots >100 yards in. I always try to play a more advanced player wedge, and I was convinced I needed some new SM8's or Cleveland wedges to replace my 58/F and 54 with these . I went and hit, SM8, ping slide, Calloway jaws... and then the Calloway CB Big Daddy. I kept hitting the CB on the same spot and the spin and distance control was consistent so I bought the 60/12 and 56/14. Then drove to my range and hit a bucket with them around and over sand. I excited to see if I can save those 6 or more shots every round. Don't care if they don't look like the typical wedge. After each round at the 19th, trust me it's about the score not you game improvement wedges, no onw cares. ;-)

😄 OMG ! Ali. Exactly what I did, got the JPX 919 HM's and along w/the SM18 blade wedges ! What a mistake. They look pretty, but gonna probably switch the Cleveland CBX 2's. Nice vid. 👍

I've Cleveland CBX wedges 50-56-60 -which are also Cavity back, and love them. Would need to see a hands on comparison with spin data before I switch.

ok...and you've hit these and can compare...? Or are you just saying CBX were the first and excellent merely because you own them?

Desert Dog yes I've used most brands and found the Cleveland and Wilson Staff the best for my game, the prices are good too.
As a high handicapper using cavity backs is a definite advantage. These Callaway look promising although not so keen on the shape but would consider trying them . But these are not new Cleveland have offered CBX wedges for a couple of years.

    Questions when buying a wedge....
    Can you get a fitting?
    Does the gapping work?
Can you get a variety of bounce/grind options?
    Is it a vokey?
If no why isn't it a vokey?

Great review. I currently game Big Bertha irons and this type of club would be a better blend I think. I am currently using a Cleveland 56 sand wedge and a Mizuno 60 degree. Both clubs over 25 years old so I don't think these mack daddy wedges will be a bad choice for me.

  • @MrZola1234

    Ali,
Couple of questions. It appeared the grips may have some sort of shot tracking tip, is that correct? Also, you mention that you prefer a softer feel to the face, but would you recommend them to a higher handicap based on the forgiveness being the greater need for that class of player?

Just bought some and they are lovely, I play off 18 and I'm middle every shot with them. Loads of spin and check on the green.
For £89 a wedge for the gains you'll get is awesome value.
