    These clubs are a godsend, I like the happy medium so went for the CB 54*14 MD from Callaway so I can still have that versatility and almost cheat out of the bunkers with the 14* bounce.
    Nothing wrong with having a club 'dedicated' to bunker shots, just be more clinical with your gap and lob wedges👍

    I have a 58 degree Sureout and its the best wedge i've ever owned and i've tried all of them. I can chip it high with spin, low with spin, out of the sand , out of deep rough, with tight lies and deadly from 75 yds and i'm a scratch player. I don't care about looks or if it's for high handicappers, it works

    I got a Sureout 64 degree with my first set of clubs, and its fantastic! Our bunkers are like mineshafts and this will get you out of them. I actually enjoy bunker shots now and learned to hit my other wedges better using this club. Crazy but hey, it works.

    The Cleveland Smart sole S came out before the Callaway Sure out, in the US at least. I had a smart sole for a while, and it was easy money from rough around the green, sand, and even full shots from the fairway from 95 yds. From packed sand, wet sand, hardpan, forget about it. Like you said it wont dig, and it's almost guaranteed to skip into the ball and blade it from those situations.

    I’ve had the 56* for 2 years. Playing off 5 this is absolutely the easiest wedge to hit from the sand, the heavy rough, 2nd cut, fringe. I use it for every short shot inside 50 yards. I can hit it high. I can hit it low. I can make it run. I can make it spin and sit. Amazing out of the sand. You don’t have to open the club and your stance. Just set up square and let the bounce work. I will never go back to a “normal” sand wedge. Never!

    • @simonthorpe6971
      @simonthorpe6971 2 года назад

      Am I right in thinking, its aim square, ball ahead of centre, normal swing, aim 1/2 inches behind ball? Or can you dig your fit in, ball slightly ahead, then aim at ball knowingb club will automatically hit in sand due to your feet position?

  • @Zerpersande
    @Zerpersande 7 месяцев назад

    It isn’t going to hurt. But it won’t help everyone. Rank beginners and players with an overall lack of skill, regardless of years of play, it won’t help much. But if you have a decent understanding of how you SHOULD use a wedge, this helps. Both in the sand and chipping from short rough.

    The Sure Out has been around forever. I even still have an old one in my garage. It was a Hogan Sure Out and is the same concept, but not quite as extreme as the new one. When Callaway bought Hogan years ago they obviously got the rights to the name and decided to relaunch it. But, like most things, it is just a new take on an old club. Almost nothing in golf is truly new anymore.

    The worst shots I ever hit have been with wedges. Hitting a drive or approach in the water or ob is a one shot or stroke and distance. Skulling a pitch over the green into the woods or under a pine tree, that is the worst. That’s why I chip whenever I can these days. Wedges r the only clubs that haven’t really been marketed for playability, we r just expected to hit a 60 off a tight lie. Perhaps if I played at a country club where the lies tend to be Cush and the greens fast and well bunkered, then I would be more enthusiastic about the 60. At the muni level of course, I am looking to get the ball rolling on the green as soon as possible

I went and hit, SM8, ping slide, Calloway jaws... and then the Calloway CB Big Daddy. I kept hitting the CB on the same spot and the spin and distance control was consistent so i bought the 60 and 56. Then drove to my range and hit a bucket with them around and over sand. I excited to see if I can save those 6 shots every round...

    Not long after I started playing golf about 20 years ago I wanted a 60 degree wedge to complement the 52 and 56 in my set of irons and i bought a Dunlop Solutions Utility Wedge Seres 60 degree lob wedge. It is very similar in appearance to the Callaway having what is described as a Skidplate sole design and is very easy to hit and may be an option for people if any are still available in the used market. I now use a Cleveland 588 RTX 60 degree which I love (haven't yet managed to track down 52 and 56 to go with it)
