So are there any significant differences between these and Smart-Shox from you know who besides the manufacturer obviously.

Smart Shox by Doo essentially keeps the sled flatter in the corners and prevents ski lift. The rear shock will sense large impacts and add stiffer compression as req'd.
Dynamix does all that as well but then also controls the FTS, which also balances the sled front to back in regards to ski lift and nose dive, and it has 3 different drive modes essentially giving you 3 sleds in one with soft, med and extreme setups at the push of a button. So yes, its massively more advanced.
