Please note that at 1:42 I compare the Wii U specs to the Xbox 360's and claim that the 360 is more powerful based on MHz speed, I *misspoke* I guess you could say, what I really meant is the *speed* of the specs in that comparison. As in how many cycles they can run in a second. In terms of which console's specs are more powerful is a whole other can of worms and you'll find a mixed assortment of answers on the web. My bad ya'll.
There actually were rumors going as far back as 2008 with Project Café. There was even an image from c. 2010 that showed a prototype Wii U gamepad with Wii Motes attached to it, although this wasn't leaked until the Switch came out years later. Wish I could remember where I found it.
I find the game pad EXTREMELY underrated, it just wasn’t utilized to its full potential in most games. (Honestly the best use for it was that pvp mode in zombie U and two players “split screen” in COD) it’s really nice to be able to play games without access to a tv, too.
Wii U actually is much more powerful than the 360 and PS3, but only slightly. The only thing that's weaker is the CPU, which is why load times are slightly worse.
bro it took ten years to make this video, I thought people where still covering new things a bout the wii u, guess no one really cares about the wii u anymore :(
Yeah researching this video was a pain in the butt, when the Nintendo nx was announced/leaked everyone shut up about the Wii U and there wasn’t anything cool going around about it
My own mother has told me I belong in a psych ward for dissing DKC Tropical Freeze. Jk in all seriousness I don't enjoy the DKC games, donkey kong feels like such a big awkward heavy character for a platformer. IMO he'd fit better in a sidescrolling beat 'em up or smth.
People nowadays wants 3D games, that’s why every Mario games except the “Mario Bros” and “Mario Maker” spinoffs are successfull. Mario Maker became popular just because you play online levels by tons of people. 2D platformers like Mario Bros Are considered seriously hard and “boring” for most people.
"basic top down hack n slash with decent dungeon design 🤓" to describe Zelda. Sheesh. You seem to have not played enough Zelda to even know what you're saying lol. If you're talking about the originals - no duh. They are basic because NES and SNES games were basic. Zelda has gotten much more complex story wise and gameplay wise since my guy. I get it, if you don't like it, that's all good. But your little rant on it makes it sound like you don't like it just because it's popular, whether or not you realize that. It's your opinion yadda yadda but there are just mid to wrong opinions lol
Haxchi downloaded it and it's already hacked but I couldn't find how to add a game. I've been looking for how to install NuSspli using haxchi for 1 month
I don't think it was horrible, just marketed poorly. The Wii U should have been a perfect stepping stone to what would become the switch. If Nintendo had marketed it better, we would have had devs willing to put more effort into taking advantage of what it had to offer. I think the hardware itself is a good idea and natural evolution from Wii to switch. But Nintendo's bad slipup just changed how the public viewed it. Imagine if it were successful? The switch would have looked even more impressive

The Wii U is everyone’s favourite failure, but I think one redeeming factor is…
ngl I can’t think of one unique to the Wii U.

I really love the Wii U now that I've bought and hacked one. Definitely worth the steep 2022 discount.
You should do a video on cancelled Wii U games & projects, there's actually a good amount of them, such as the Project Robobot you mentioned.
you’re literally the definition of underrated
Thanks man, appreciate it!

The WiiU was a horrible console for multiple reasons but without it the switch wouldn't be a thing
