I am nearing my 60th Birthday but watching RUclips videos on Silage making seems to transport me back to my childhood watching the MacRobert Estate team bringing in the silage at Tarland Aberdeenshire. Wherever I have lived in Scotland from Campbeltown to The Isle of Lewis the drone of a chopper signifies in my mind the start of summer. I far prefer this method rather than baling but my mates farm went this way as he kept getting grief from SEPA re the potential of run off entering a water course I think. Thanks for the memories.
I am a Canadian woman living in Las Vegas Nevada. I know your 90 degrees it feels hot and yes it is hot but I have seen 125 degrees here, could not imagine what farming feels like and what farmers go thru just to accomplish being a farmer. God bless you Tom.
Some thing about watching you guys chop grass is mesmerizing. I actually envy your life on the farm between being outside and being with the animals. I work indoors with the animals in a hospital as in people animals. I love the drone footage and I love the music. Keep up the great work. Congratulations on your wedding. Tell the ginger with the mustache he has fans in the United States.
Time that he won the best edited quality videos you’ve done since I’ve been watching you for all these years. The editing is spot-on just everything about it was a enjoyment to watch.
Hello Tom. We came down to the farm shop today in our Motorhome. We parked next to Kate the highland cow and the other cow and her calf. Never thought cows were cute till today. Lol. I spent a small fortune in the shop (you’re welcome). Yorkshire pud wrap was delicious. Had a nice chat with your butcher about Durham cathedral. Would of loved to have a look around. Ive seen the progress on the new building. Can’t wait to see some more videos. You must be a bit behind 😉
Used a 2850 for 3 seasons in the 90s never let us down lovely to see in the video glad you enjoyed the experience of driving 1 of the best tractors made !
Country kid an now I’m 62 years but I don’t remember anyone by us using all of that equipment. Mostly by us we put up hay and did the corn. This is an amazing “ballet” watching everyone working and doing the job so seamlessly! Well done and everything looks so nice!
The 2850 JD is a great tractor 🚜 I remember the good times carting silage, round bales, slurry and rolling fields with this yoke, each gear has a split grear, push right and your up a gear.
Boy seeing all that grass going into the new Clamp was exciting!!! Love the drone shots as always. Love to watch all that you and the ginger guy have accomplished.
It is so much fun watching you chatter about tractors. And whipping it around...once you got used to it. Yeah, it can be fun to drive an all manual from time to time, but...when you are going to spend 8-12 hours in the field on the tractor, go with the comfy one. And that new clamp looks great!! Those cows are going to have the best food for the winter.
Tom when I was 6 back in 1980 my family had a large Farm in Kentucky. So when I was 6 I learned how to drive a JD tractor to bush hog with my granddad. I sat on his lap but I did all the controls. Watching you today reminded me of that fun and amazing time I spent with him and why tractors are so close to my heart even though I live in a city now.
Watching the clamp go up has been most entertaining. Loving the improvement to the farm. We are all pulling for success for the farm. Sure hope to see a whole series of videos on the cattle barn. Wish we could have seen it as it was happening.
Wow 👏😮 I really didn't think the clamp would be as full as that in just one day! Really enjoyable video as usual. I find the work on the farm fascinating. I hope Joanne and yourself had a super time away x x
Another great video, you were soooo excited, new clamp, you first to use it. Nice to see Heidi in the last video, she was great with milking the cows maybe you could get her back more often to give you a break. Canada.
Just finally caught up after a 3/4 video binge and love seeing the progression, the way the clamp is looking and definitely love the old Deere keep up the top videos Tom 👊🏼
Discovered your channel on Friday night, spent most of the weekend watching your videos. I now know what a clamp and slurry is. Thanks from a new subscriber in Australia. Can't wait to see the new shed progress.
18:56 I love that Hürlimann sound, the Turbo whistleing and that old exhaust crackle. Will miss that on the future, when old tractors got sorted out. Love also the old case. Why not buying a good old IH 1455 as a 2nd farm tractor. Would love it, but I can understand due to comfort to go for a new one.
Might be a bit too late to tell you this idea but have you ever thought of getting a leaf blower of some kind for cleaning out the dust, straw and little stones out of the clamp, go from inside out, just a thought for next time, could be useful in other areas also! great video once again!
I have a Same Silver 90 to do my main work and it's a joy to drive I used to dread the spring in the old days with the smaller tractors all the ploughing and cultivating dragged on for weeks now it's something to look forward to.
Love the content Thomas keep it coming. I think the new clamp is a great investment seeing as how quickly you’ve already filled it up with more silo. Glad it’s already working for you guys.
The 2850 is a crackin tractor, put 1500 hours on one in 2003 - 2004 loved it, but my heart will always be with the David Brown's and Same's got 3 Browns a 66 990 (17,000hours), a 66 880 (1894 hours), a 84 1494 (6400 hours) And 4 Same's 2001 Dorado 85 (5000hours), 2006 Dorado 86 (2100hours), 2008 Explorer 90 (3400hours) and a 1984 Buffalo 130 (11200hours)
Clampfastic, Won’t open the window because the owner doesn’t want grass in the cab, witch is understandable, A few minutes later windows open oh John deer, grass everywheer, great video Tom, love to see it when it’s time to open the clamp , 👍👍👍👍🐄🚜.
You got the clamp done just in time, it seems; final sweep out on same day as fill begins. Good planning and execution, Tom. Obviously, Wareings helped a bit.
Tom...... They are the most uncomfortable things to drive but like a landrover defender the most fun to drive. I stuck one in a ditch cutting hedges all I could do was laugh 😂 thank you for sharing 👍
I don't know if u have them were u are but here in the USA we have something called a backpack blower u could use that to clean the floor of the clamp makes the work easier and faster
Their is nothing that runs like a John Deere if it's not green and yellow leave it in the shed. Another great video Tom great entertainment Well done and thank you
My uncles always said those SG cabbed Deere’s were his favourite to work on,he’s been a mechanic for Tuckwells in Suffolk (uk’s first JD dealer) for 50 odd years now
@@tractorman810 Not sure, but we're near Woodbridge and Worlingworth is not that far away. I just know that we definitely receive invoices from Tuckwell's from time to time in the post. I'm not that involved in the business I just get asked to make electronic copies occasionally for the records while I have free time from my own job.
You Smashed it Tom ... a super interesting video again ...Your clamp was a great job...fantastic work to get it ready and get married as well ... please keep up the good work ...Enjoy your Irish Honeymoon ...
You always make an interesting video Tom. Doors that mean you'll be after a good classic then? Lot cheaper to buy and so long as you do your research and buy a model that was reliable for the few times you need an extra tractor, may not be a bad option. Plenty of farmers out there running fifteen, twenty year old tractors for specific operations. It's all coming together there. Looking forward to the program you're presenting, make sure you let us know when it'll air?
If you want to get maximum cooling you open the two side windows and the Rooftop, leaving the back window closed that way the cool air circles around you and out the top instead of going out the back window
Your video skills just keep getting better, great filming and editing, I hope all this RUclips work pays of for you and the family, your the one person that really deserve it all the hard work you put in. Keep safe 🤞🤞🤞
We used to make just one ramp up the clamp, then used to fill the left hand side as vertical as possible. Much less waste when opening up the clamp. Had to be very careful when rolling near the edge however.
That was our first new tractor over 30 years ago, when it died brought another one second hand, use it for rolling and hay raking each year Canterbury plains New Zealand.
Hi Tom, After starting this comment I suddenly remembered that you had the Case on demo....but I was going to suggest that you guys should try a demo of the New Holland, I drove the T145 for a couple of years, Fantastic Beast. Great videos, keep up the great work

To be honest I'm not much of a John Deere fan but I do like the old vintage style tractors. Great job 👍🏻
Brilliant video Tom, thank you 👍
That Deere is great, there's a lot to be said for older less complicated tractors 👍🚜
Always always love your drone videos! And love seeing the entire process of building the silage and filling it up!
Brilliant video series Tom - credit to you and your dad. Love the John Deere!!
