Hello there. I used to work for a farmer who cut 270 A. I'm going back a while as well. He had 11 Nuffield tractors, 6 David Brown tractors and 2 Ford and 2 Massey Ferguson tractors. He never hucked any machines off. Some did slow Jobs and others did fast. There was no big fancy gear back then. Biggest tractor we had was a Ford County about 145 hp. The other Ford was a Roadless 98 hp. Choppers was a New Holland 717. And a Class with a cat engine on the front. I'm 67 and retired now.
We really love the way farmers talk about their silage crop, its much much better than listening to top bake layers ( chefs ) talking about the wine they will serve with their best burnt offerings.
Those Fast Tracs are definitely something to see even here in the United States, also I couldn't help but try to sniff my screen at the sight of all that grass. Cheers mate and keep up the good work
We started yesterday too! Grass a bit wet but fields very wet. We’ve had double the annual rainfall this year, it’s made things, erm, “difficult”. Go Tom and the GW!
I brought 56 kids in my school on a trip to Lytham on Tuesday… thought about bobbing in to see you guys but considering how busy you were, I’m glad we didn’t! Looks fab!

As to the tractor question, go with whichever does the job and has additional capabilities you can use in the future. A neighbor of ours has 2 Fast Trax, ones about 15 years old and the other around 5. Never a big breakdown, of course common little things. They use them mainly for silage wagons and manure tankers. Man do the haul butt down the road, lol !! Tom, you and your wife are cute together. Both are bit playful and that's nice to see.
Its a good thing you took the JCB! There's already plenty of video of broke down, fairly new Fendt's on the tube 😂😂😂😂! Most over here dislike them! [that's putting it nicely]🤣🤣🤣🤣When we used to make piles, we used really heavy old bulldozers for pushing & compaction! Most mainly use silos now! Nice video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
I am an electronics engineer, but that farm machinery is the dogs, relay enjoyed that vlog, would have been nice to watch the rolling on the pile a bit more, keep them coming.
that CLAAS is beast they brought one round for our first cutting, really chewed up all 750 acres, we don't have to worry about it being too wet usually but it snowed on our first cutting on the high meadow. great to see the Mrs. out in the cab riding shotgun

Love your chopping videos, I think that's one of the best things about farming. We put all that work into growing crops for our cattle then put it in the bunk and hope it doesn't spoil. We milk about 100 cows in Ontario Canada so we are about the same size farm as you and the Ginger but we aren't even close to chopping. We are still trying to get corn and wheat in the ground just because it's been cold and wet this year. Keep Farming Hard and stay safe during chopping. Cheers from Canada!!

The thing I've liked from Ollys vid and your vid is how both of you record your vids. Mobile phone versus camera on a stick. Jcb need to send you a long term demo of something.
about the grass coming in to fast. A rule of thumb that is used is the weight of the tractor on the clamp times two is the weight of gras per hour you should put in the clamp.
I am a complete sucker for chopping and carting videos. Only the Ginger Warrior would sample clamp effluence. . Olly is a great guy for letting you use the Fast Track. The real question is...what did Jo ask that you mooed out? Hmmm could there be a bit of kit in the future?
Another great video I've always said silage is made in the clamp a few contactors around me have started to offer the silage compactor looks to do a real good job 💪🏻 🙌🏻👍🏻
Have you thought of upgrading you roads to gravel and what we do here is they raise the road up higher than the ground so any water should run of until the road needs repairing, we have a gravel that when it rains it goes to concrete, and maybe a drain at the front connecting either to the field or drains in the shed. great video looks like a bumper crop. And more to come with that rain.
