Oh that poor field….
It's wonderful how you borrow the neighbour's new tractor back and forth between you.
Never worry about the RUclips upload schedule when real life intrudes. That's what the notifications are for. When you publish a video we'll know.
Poor you hanging around waiting for someone who barely has enough hours in the day to keep you happy!

My heart goes out to you all. I am going to show my age now. Back in 1985 I can remember seeing a tractor baling in September using the split breaks to steer in the wet . The bales were then bagged as wrapping was new then.
Good luck.😊
in 1985 we made our hay first week of September was rotten on bottom before even cut but all baled into small bales dry but rubbish ,then straight into harvest ,if it went in combine and straw came out other end we went ,although one afternoon it looked a bit wet in tank so I stopped and tested with mosture meter ,it was 40% decided to stop ,most went through drier twice some three times
Similar experience about 20 years or so ago, weather was awful all summer. I was wrapping bales, harvester and trailers struggled to travel in fields so most silage ended up being baled and wrapped. I worked 8 weeks straight without a day off, some of those weeks were 100+ hours. On one occasion I had to get towed INTO a field to wrap the bales 😅. Fun times!!!
Wonderful to see people helping each other out. ❤ keep up the good work.
As a I say . The weather is our biggest challenge. It can make or break a harvest !
Hello everyone happy cow Tuesday. Tom, you’re doing everything you can. We understand that the weather gets you behind and you gotta make sure the farm is taken care of so please don’t stress about missing a video here there those of us could’ve been here for a while and any real farmer or farmer interested person totally understands. Be well be.You
Thank you for all your hard work and hanging in there, Tom, even when things get rough!!!
Nice to have you back Tom. Please do not stress about getting videos done. I am sorry the weather has been bloody awful this year.
That field was knackered.
Weather every where has been crazy but the work has to be done and you need to save what you can and worry about the other things later. Love your videos Tom and the realities of real farming. Thank you for all your hard work. ❤❤
Just glad all ok, was getting worried. Family/farming first. We are just happy you take us along for the ride.
It feels nice as a farmer to see others struggling. Makes you feel like your not alone. Hope your field recovers well best of luck to it
Crackin vid Tom. Those bale carriers worked a treat. You need an extra 4 or 5 hours a day just to get things done.
@@bobuncle8704 I do 🙈 Just abit of time
Where we are ...Ur lucky to have 1 back & 1 front & still making tracks through the fields😢😢
Hi Tom great to see you keeping going, it was wet it will come good, nice to see dad and people come up to help, land will dry out, keep up the good work,
So wish we could swap weather, we are over 100°F for over a week. Could sure use some rain here in Pasco, WA USA.
Love and prayers 😇💜
Just down the river from you in Goldendale, 108F yesterday. Very hot.
@@marjoriebell4956 not had any real heat here 🙈
my fields are a lot wetter and when i did silage i managed to get on my fields with a 15t hay trailer but i do have a 650 hp tractor pulling the trailer
Cracking video. Pair the bales up then lift them. Means you wouldn't grab any earth. The Fleming bale handlers are really good.
I just want to say, great job working through difficulties. I mean there’s were some garbage bales but you have some good silage bales. The field can be repaired. Smart to get at it when it wet enough to move but not boggy. Get vids out when you can cause the real life comes first ❤ I want those bale carriers!
To say that this year is challenging is an understatement. Even though it is so wet, you really have no choice but to follow the process through to the end and that in turn, then causes more problems by churning up the field. It can't be helped of course. That is where those bales forks on the front and rear, really came in useful in minimizing the inevitable damage. I really feel for you all - especially for my brother who is in the same situation as everyone else.
I don’t think some people my realise just how wet it as been till seeing your videos Tom well done on your videos and keeping everything runing when things are tough make sure you look after yourself 👍
Pats on the back all around; what a family, team, and community!
My self and the wife called in at your farm on the weekend. We got 2 stacks and they were amazing. Keep up the great work we will definitely be back again 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
Yes Tom, stress can be really stressful. 😉

Love seeing your videos Tom, it makes my week!
i feel for you Tom, the weather has been dire. love anything and everything you post xx
Happy anniversary to you and Jo hope you have a wonderful day 🥂
I can’t wait to see the silage when you open winter time to see if they good or bad
love your videos , Tom
Good video Tom and I totally feel for you guys 😊
Thanks for the video Tom.
If it wasn’t hard to get done
they wouldn’t call it work!!
BeWell and StaySafe ✌️
Shocking year tom 😞 dont thibk we will get a summer. Just hope next year will be better for everyone. Great vid as always mate 👍
Wow. Tough harvest ❤
You are due some way better luck now hopefully on the farm jobs ahead fingers crossed 🤞
It’s like a wet “thehayteamtv”. Well done 😊
i really enjoyed the inside the cab over the shoulder view when you were collecting the bales
With a good chain harrowing both ways and the use of some Cambridge rolls that field will be back to normal as this season reminds me of 1993 when it was as wet as this year Tom 😊
You could sell the mud as mud packs for face treatments
All joking aside when I was in Royal Navy in 1970s I was in the fleet air arm I used to move helicopters with a big yellow Fordson 2000 they are sort of like moving four wheel trailers with a steering axle at the front we only towed them for longer distances much easier to push them .
Keep the head up mate.. always get there in the end 💪🤟
Weather is on the up Tom...watch this space....
@@raybrophy1297 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Hi Tom pemberton we were bailing ourselves tom cover Ur sillage bales with white paint but a cross on the bales keeps the birds away from them it's a fast job
Hoping for better weather! Also really interested to see how you fix the fields
Those roots looks fun to work out. I can definitely say that, after all, I had to do that fun work many time. You know how fun it will be when the combine header has water cooling from the water on the field. 😅But that's farming. If every year is perfect, it would be too boring. :D
Now that the field is a complete mess. With tyre tracks. I would have ploughed it over and reseeded it. But giving the time of month, it guessing that’s not possible. but the state of the field is something to consider that option. As you’ve already created trenches. Lol
Happy anniversary Tom
Great video Tom
Hey Happy 3rd anniversary to you and Joanna 🥳🥳
That is why you have to respect to the farmers out there on why they complain about the weather all the time. I salute to you Tom, keep doing what you do best 🫡 💪
Huge hugs to all
The weather...... 😮😢
I watch a horse channel Black Horses Friesians. You can imagine how BAD the fields were after winter with horses.Tracey uses an ancient harrowing machine and Super Seed grass. They've come lovely.
Come to Colorado in the winter (mountains) and drive in 1 foot of snow, getting the tractors out of mud will be a breeze!
In norway we use twin wheels in the baler its helps the field
you have done better than most have with this weather. just keep the bales rolling, if they wont roll give them a kick.
what a stressful hay harvest; I will say you have been tenacious
Well us west Aussies had our driest spring summer and autumn. And our winter looks really mild compared to your summer
wow. I need one of those bale carriers
Pretty valtra in the background 😊😊
@@user-jm3lo5po1m he has a very nice fleet of tractors ☺️
Well Tom
That tool will come in handy
Hi Tom, working smarter not harder always pays off. Those bale carriers might be a nice addition to your kit one day. ❤❤❤
@@meghanplamondon8639 great bit of kit!
Some1 needs to teach him how to use them correctly, 😂🙈 painful watching that
14:29 great content again those fields were definitely wet
Happy Wedding anniversary Tom
Great video Tom you guys did struggle with the bailing have you thought of running,a power harrow over the bad bits in the field Olly did, it on some bad patches a while ago 👍👍
Drainage Drainage Drainage Mr Pemberton Senior has a Degree in common sense.
You could always give those rough bales to the goats, they'll eat anything. 👍 Am liking the front and rear forks, really good idea. 👍
with all the mud there is a serious risk of listeriosis, which is a sheep killer ,I would expect the same would happen to goats
Have you thought of doing whole crop barley silage?? It will be a bit later in the season.
How will you ever get those ruts out of that field? Hope. Everything is going well for you, Jo and Harvey ❤️
Jeez Tom, I remember trying to get siloing done near Grange over Sands in the nineties. Every year the rainfall seemed to increase. Sold up and moved to Canada in 2000. The few times I’ve been back the years since must have been drier because the people who bought the farm have generally managed to get done without marking the fields too badly.
I guess you wouldn’t object to a drought year for a change?
That's a lot of bales wow
You did know its been the warmest June on record! Also has the ginger guy not thought about putting some drainage in the fields??
😊😊
@@comm1508 honestly I don’t believe it at all! Did they go outside? 😂
❤ from Norway
It amazes me how wet the fields are, what a bloody mess. Used to hilly land where the water just runs off.
Why the hell are u even trying to bale that bit 😐 stupid heavy baler in those conditions 😳
The ground is still so bad. I feel bad for all farmers who are growing any crops
Hi Tom keep up the good work will all come good just to ask where did you get the back British farming hoddie from
Oh gosh. The field! Yikes. Will you have to go back and fix it once it dries a little? I’m assuming yes because the ruts will trap water, but I’m not a farmer so I don’t know.
I had to watch the bailer get stuck again at the beginning. Omg. Your field 😳😳
0:41 just have to say tim lad that that welger baler is mint out
It would make great video game ,,pick up bales
Weather is so bad with you Tom .fair play to lads for landing you bale lifters .😮
Tom just put your energy into the farm. We will be here when you can get a video out. Take care of yourself too
Goodmorning from across the world.. a bit stuck heh ?? Hugs to you all… gee I’m first to comment.. yeah !!! The hurricane is soon to be here from way south of here. Rain all day tomorrow I bet.!!
@@teafrog777 hope it goes ok ☺️
2 inches of rain so far.. not to bad, sure could be worse. Rain continues till late morning. So glad it’s not triple digits in temp like out west in California. Garden is going to grow in leaps and bounds now. Fresh zucchini and cucumbers are tops on my list of snack vegs on everything. Not many bees around to pollinate, scary. Your farm has been going through so many changes and upgrades. Being able to keep food dry and your cows more comfortable is key. Happy cows , more milk!!! Have a wonderful day you all !!!
De macHale moet hoognodig voorzien worden van 4 banden Naast elkaar onder de pers. Word hier in Nederland wel gedaan en scheelt veel in draagkracht op natte grond.
💔Reminds me of the year I graduated high school, we had to peg (plant by hand) the entire tobacco crop because you couldn't get near the fields with a vehicle. Sank to our knees every step. Nothing you can do but carry on, sure is rough. 💔
Ya can't beat tanco equipment,
City dweller so please excuse if this is a stupid question ... for the fields that have been rutted this year, do you roll and seed or have to plow and reseed?
I'd say hire an editor. If funding is an issue do the relevant advertising on your vids. Sadly it's the way RUclips is going.
He’s a farmer, not Martin Scorsese
Oooh sooo a tough silage harvest for ye 😬 hopefully silage be ok 🤞🏻are the land drains blocked maybe 🤔 ALSO is that a new or borrowed grass tine rake at 6.31 👀 🤔
Tom, how are you going to recover all this from the last few months through all this rain?
Time to look out for a farm on higher ground my friend.. not to sound negative but I can’t see it improving anytime soon
tom pls tell me that the fields are okayish again ? great video keep it up
I would be crying...Any how I'd be checking the ph of that bailage when its finished ensiling.Big risk of Listeria when you have higher ph and soil contamination ! Speaking from experience...not nice😢
How do you actually fix the field after this kind of issue?
Tom, I have one question; How much time and money will it cost you to clean up the fields?
Are you dumping them Bales?. It’s just there seems to be a lot of soil in the bale in amongst the grass.
Oh man, the pain of the tractors (with the baler) completely destroying the field. What a year this is.
Hope you have better run on the 2nd cut
Thank you Tom. Please look after yourself first and foremost.
where did the New Holland come from tom?, was that a t series?
Would you have to recede seed that
Not even half way through first cut put the mower on today just before it started to rain
