A CLOSE CALL WITH THE 390 & MORE WORK TO THE SHED

- Today's video starts off with a very close call with the 390 as it took off down a hill while my back was turned. Myself and Dad also tackled the plumbing in the shed, moving one trough and installing 2 more to ensure we have a good supply of water over the winter
Superwoman you need to keep yourself safe at all times. Please
Agreed She Is..A Superwoman..!!!
Young Lady be thankful you didn't get hurt and you are a hard worker God bless you and your family
If machinery behaves like that and there's no one in the way, let it go.
You are much more valuable than a tractor.
You and your Dad make a great team!!! I'll bet he is really proud of you.
Although any farming videos are good to see , videos like this bring back my childhood memories of working with my dad on his small holding 👌
Karen the number one rule is if your not on the tractor turn it off leave in gear put on the parking brake, if the tractor gets away on you let it go your safety is more important than the tractor .and I'm not haven ago at you, love the videos
Karen you are more than aware of the dangers in farming & its so easy to break the concentration but the only mistake was trying to save the tractor. Your saftey is paramount at all times. You & Dad are a great team & he is amazing to make so light of his disability & carrying on so positively. Keep 'er Lit.
Fair play to you for getting her stopped.
Nice to watch your video thank you
Can't imagine anyone giving you a hard time Karen , your so adorable and you are clearly loving what you do around your farm , keep up the hard work .
Hahaha clearly people don't share your sentiment 😅

In my case it is fear and experience one farmer’s daughter to another
Things learned by experience maybe more expensive than you think even when you feel like what else God???
Ya forgot the hand brake it happens always engage it
Let the tractor hit the tree. Its only a machine. It can be replaced.
Well done with all the hard work. you're an inspiration.👍
Hello Miss Karen. Tks for sharing. Omg a run away tractor? Please be careful. Happy to hear you wasn't hurt.. Please just be careful. Its no body's fault. It happens.. the important thing is your okay. Good job with the waters and plumbing. Looks professional. We have ever changing weather here in Michigan USA as well. Im not sure how your weather goes but im sure its definitely different in Northern Ireland. Your Accent is sweet to hear. 😊😊😊😊.
Hi Karen. Everyone would run and try to stop tractor. Learn from it now .when u a young and fit u will.get away with jumping into tractor..take care
Sh-t happens learn from it been there got the teeshirt glad you’re ok 🚜🏴👍
Maybe you handbrake is faulty and I can’t see how it could jump into gear itself (you should ask your mechanic about it) I am glad that you didn’t get hurt and you did a very good plumbing job with no leaks and your father is a mighty man also
Hi Karen it just show how dangerous farming can be but the main thing is that you are safe and well. You and your dad are doing a great job in the shed look forward to watching the next episode keep up the good work.
Young lady I always look forward to seeing your videos now take a deep breath and go back at it
Thank you!
Great video Karen. Good save on the tractor. Yourself and Dad make a great team. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh My Karen! To be fair IF you had not said anything about the tractor taking off without you in it, pretty sure most would have just thought "why is Karen dragging the spreader?" But you always Keep The REAL In Your REEL and we Fans truly appreciate you not sugar coating Farm Life! I actually went and replayed that part over a few times and naturally a few things stood out like the door being open as the tractor was moving and your Eyes were WIDE OPEN when telling us about this after it all happened! I'm grateful No One was hurt. We all learn as we go about life and work and lessons learned for "next time"! Hoping Crowded House Show was A Thrill! Appreciate my seat on this ride! MOO From Across The Pond In COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
Thank you! yes Crowded House put on a great show in fairness
Great videos kid, admire your spirit no matter what the job you tackle it and succeed, keep up the good work!!!!
Karen i so jove your can do attitude , so much like my daughter, great teamwork with Dad
Thank you 😊
Karen you are such a hard worker, you and your father put so much graft in..
Dont beat yourself up over the teactor moving, everyone of us have had a mishap or two during life x
I hope your infection in your eye goes soon but hope the twinkle stays 😊❤x
Take care
Andy
Fair play to you you're a great worker and a real credit to young women and men and you're dad must be proud keep up the great work and take care all the best from Donegal 👍 .
I hope you are OK after that fright with the tractor rolling, Karen. I handle agri motor claims and I get so many claims for damaged doors, sunroofs, bonnets- allsorts of little scrapes. So it happens all the time, I see it all with my farmers. 😊 Thankfully you rescued the situation without getting hurt, that's the important thing.
An angel n a divil in the cab and the angel won
Good morning Karen, another brilliant and productive video.
Definitely a scary moment with the 390, but I would of done the same. It just shows why agriculture is the most dangerous industry to work in!
Please take care and try to get into turning the engine off and and leaving the tractor in either 1st or reverse gear depending on the slope of the ground you are parked on. Yes it may take a little bit more time but least you will not be injured
That was a close call, I know it's a natural reaction to run but your life and limbs are more important than a tractor. Please don't rush, turn the tractor off that wag tail it could mash your foot. Farms are dangerous places, you only got one life look after it please please. You and your dad make a great team.
Cheers, Poth.
Karen i so love your can-do attitude you are an inspiration so love watching your videos
Nice plumbing work,ye are a good team, everyday is a learning day, that will never happen you again, great video!
Hey, glad no one got injured, shows how easy things can happen, dont be too hard on yourself, shades look 😎 😊

Very good video Karen ❤❤❤❤
I really enjoy your videos
Thank you!
I had a tractor that roll before on its own down a hill hit a building and went on its side and just to let you know de next time turn de wheels up to de side because if it does go to roll it will only roll up de hill and it will stop and make sure de handbrake is working fully and we have de same trouble with the PTO on our 390 we can't leave any PTO shaft on de tractor when we go to start it as it won't start
Cracking video as always. Always worth waiting for
Thanks Paddy
Good Jobs, hope the eye heals up fast.
It wasn’t your fault luckily you didn’t get hurt another great video ❤

Fair play to ya for the work you get done
I’ve done the same thing with a tractor when I was younger. It happens so fast we react so quickly and don’t think of the danger.great video hope the weather picks up .
Very good video to watch Karen thank 🤠
G'day Karen. Those were some tricky moments with the Massey, but I'm glad you're alright.
It's great to see you and your dad working so well together. He must be so proud of you.
Keep up the good work
Hi Karen great video again thanks. Don't beat yourself up to much these things happen no one got hurt thats the main thing. Got to admire how you and your dad just tackle anything. These diy classes with Karen are awesome 😅. Thanks again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Haha thank you so much ☺️
FIRST..Awesome Video..Karen ...!!!!
Get well soon lv
Done that and got the tee-shirt it happens to the best of us 😊
Well done Karen great work with the plumbing, thank God you didn't get hurt ,there are many bobby traps in farming and unfortunately its almost impossible to avoid them all.
Such a great job you do you and you dad are awsome and I hope your eye gets berrer .and don't worry about the small mishaps that happen .I hope the cattle are doing good an I love your laugh it you ...😊
Thank you!
That was a nasty fright to get, definitely went into gear, stop engine in if you can, well done with the plumbing 💦
Hi Karen...
It's nice to see a normal woman work at what she enjoys . My story regarding accidents , in 2017 I was hooking up a hydraulic roller to the John Deere , I was perched on the arm as I was drawing in the telescopic hitch , I slipped and my right foot somehow landed in the hitch as the lever didn't disengage, which sadly mangled my foot . I had to wait 45mins before the ambulance got to me , I was basically alert and had tied up my leg from bleeding out . In the end , my right foot had to be amputated . In a word , split second accidents happen. Things we do that we have done since we were young kids on the farm, I guess my nine lives ran out and I was unfortunate. I am alive and don't farm much now, as I am not able to walk on the land or run after unruly bullock's. Just be safe , don't rush as in the end , you'll get your work done. Ps .. our climate is well fucked up ... We seem to get out summer in May and then it's down hill.
Take it handy young lady . Joe and Bob , my furry buddy you see in me photo thinga me jig.😅 😅
Oh I'm sorry to hear that, I can't imagine the pain of that. Thank you for sharing
Olympic work Medal 2024 goes to Karen Even Tired looking at the Highlights. Hard Work 👍😊
😅😅
When sowing a reseed put 3 bags of 10/10/20 an acre on before sowing and then when it’s getting established put 1 bag of 27/2.5/5 on to drive it ! I have been doing that for years and it works really well.
What a brilliant video Karen, your skills are amazing and you and your Dad work so well together 👍
Thanks Ann ☺️
You just be careful there, Wonderful lady !!
U where lucky u got it stopped u would make a plumber anyday well done 👏
Good video thanks
😊sehr gute Arbeit kate
Great video. Hope your eye gets better soon.
Hallo Karen another great video you can't be to carefull with machinary hope your eye gets better soon
Great video again Karen you could put some lagging on the water pipe to protect from the frost.
Hi Karen, don't worry u are safe & ur tractor is safe could be worse, bad weather not much growth, great video, kieran from laghey donegal town
Thanks
Good on you Karen and your Dad ye work well together, great to get those jobs done before the winter, grass growth is very poor here in north Clare as well it's the cold windy weather, take care around the machinery especially when there is a bit of a rush on, I'd say that has happened a lot of us the tractor taking off on it's own, hope the eye is improving, had a good laugh when you said "I'm not having notions" with the sun glasses😂
Great video Karen, plenty of goings on to keep us up to date and entertained. Don't dwell on the tractor incident-just use it as a lesson to be a bit more careful and safe for next time you use the tractor 👍🏻
Thanks for including the tractor story. It is a good example of how things can go wrong so quickly. There are probably a few people who will see that and change the way they are operating their own tractors. I enjoy all of your videos.
I’m sure there are things you would rather not share to protect your privacy , but I would love to see a video(maybe a drone) showing a little about the area you live in. It looks like you are on a highway and have some close neighbors. I am from an Oklahoma in USA.
Best wishes.
I'd say it was your handbrake.Get it checked.Even if it did slip back in gear tractor should stall if handbrake working properly
It's rained all day today in north Shropshire Karen you were lucky with that tractor Karen one thing Karen your safe now x
You and your dad working well together Karen x
Hi Karen,
Another good video, you'd put any
man to shame, the way you changed the fertiliser spreader from the MF 135 to the MF 390,
just brilliant, and you and your dad fitting the water drinkers , first class , as for the accident you did really well, to be able to get inside the cab, these things happen, but we all learn, great that nothing happened to you, bye Karen 👋
Thank you 😊
Hi Karen, good video as always, your a great help to your dad and if you were my daughter I'd be so proud of you, as for the tractor I found it strange the PTO was turning when you were putting the fertilizer in! Things like this can happen so don't beat yourself up over it but try and learn from it.
Karen great job -- just remember to lag the water pipes as well -- save your arms on the hair dryer while your doing them
Must be an issue with the 390 gearbox being worn. Safer to turn engine off from now on. 15:50 You wind the tape the other direction wind it the same direction that the fitting will turn , otherwise it screws it slack. Hope that makes sense.
Freak accidents frighten you more cause you just can't tell of the damage they can do despite how careful you are. You're the right side of the ground at the end of another day - that's all that matters 👍
Hi Karen I have had a tractor roll on me I know how you feel. I was lucky i didn’t get hurt and I’m glad you didn’t take care.
You’re some lady I have a forty year old brother that can’t hang a picture very impressive well done
🤣🤣
Have to say your Dad is looking well Karen! Nice work by both of you, and as for machinery the flippin things have a life of their own sometimes, so long as you are not in it's path there's no bother eh!
its easy done. Its always when you are in a hurry when accidents happen. My guess would be iffy handbrake as ive had that on my 135
Elvis has left the building!
🙈🙈🤣
Have a 390 and same issue with pto getting it fixed presume its a faulty switch. Id say get it looked at sooner rather than later to be on the safe side. Great video fairplay.
If most Farmers are honest, they have had close calls on the Farm.My dad caught a small gas tractor on fire while filling it with gas in the 1950s,and I almost was hit by a train while driving a grain truck
😳😳 woah
I did the same thing with our 390, left it on a hill with a trailer and the handbrake only half up. Managed to jump in before it went 500ft down the valley! I now always pull the handbrake as high as I can!
Well Karen only angels are perfect. We humans make mistakes and have to deal with them. I still think you are marvellous the way you carry out your duties. Wipe the sweat off your brow and continue with confidence.
Thank God you're ok, they always wait until your back is turned to move off don't they 😂
Hi safety first with machinery as others said let it go rather than end up underneath or get pinned,my Uncle was pinned my a tractor died at 42 I think, always used the handbrake, check it holds on a slope might need an adjustment, after a little research get the tractor check if you have 12/12 box yes do as you said all 3 into neutral until you know what’s going on.
Happy to see your father enjoying life passing his knowledge on to you,he’s a lucky guy have you to keep his farm going and keep him active .
When trough shopping try Condon troughs also try to always use Philmac water fittings, they're not brittle like the others
Thank you!
Where there's a will there's a.... short woman with a fence post and determination 💪. ❤😁
So lucky the spreader was down, Karen. You looked so shocked 😮 I did worry seeing the tail wag 😮 this is why lone farming can be very dangerous if you’re not aware around you. What a strange weather this year 😤
