- In today's video we're reseeding one of our silage fields that has been taken over by rushes in recent years. I have made a start to finish video showing the full process and what is involved. A big thank you to Agritech for supplying the Tipperary grass seed for the job.
Nice to see what you have been doing, i don´t think anyone watching your video´s does´nt like them. Hard working Lass👍 God only knows how you do all of this, your job and the farm, you have all of my respect for this Karen, and you are such a positive and happy Girl. i would even watch a three hour video from you, just luv em. If later this summer you get a chance to cut silage or hay, do it. That's almost as good as money in the bank. Someone will need it with the way the weather is behaving, maybe yourself.

When you see the results from reseeding land it’s hard not to continue every second or third year the benefits will out way the cost in the long run well done Karen
What was the approx cost per acre? I'd imagine the excavator work added a few hundred per acre? In your opinion what will be the cost benefit overall?

Your on the ball Karen .my father had us picking stones every summer as he reseeded some of our farm myself and my brother were only talking about them summers when we were young .dad driving the tractor and us following there you missed one .happy days.

I had no idea when you talked of reseeding that it was such a big job. I thought you would just put seen down as it was. That field should be wonderful now. Can't wait to see it sprouting!

Very impressed with topping, spraying, plowing seeding rolling and fertilizing. Was sceptical about first digging but it was great results and removal of problem rocks. Length of your videos not an issue from Texas!!!!!

If you ever have to lay pipe again it is easier to roll it out on the grass and then put it in the trench.

I think the field looks great, they did it right and it should increase your hay production with muck less weeds for many years to come. You did a good cover with the seed also. Your dad will be proud of you !!!

What a great job there Karen and it will repay its self, can see how proud you are and deservedly so. You and your dad are doing grand, you really are.
Will be doing similar to our 5 acre field once this years harvest is finished, turning it back to grass using our TED 20 grey Fergi and 2 furrow plough.

Regarding the water pipe ,
When it’s still rolled up , I find it’s best to take the inner end of the pipe , pull it slowly and flick the loops the opposite way to the way there rolled , beside the duct .
This will straighten the pipe out and then just drop it into the duct .
This will get the heart pumping , but in my opinion is easier than the hardship found rolling in the duct . With the clay and of course the stones falling into the wellies.
But sure ye got it done , 👍

That’s a lovely big flat field. In the olden days here they used the stones for making drains in the field but nowadays the machinery is so big and heavy it’s breaking up the “stane drains” and they need replaced with plastic. Another interesting video and I hope the crows don’t come after your grass seed.

Very satisfying to see the job through to this stage. Now all it has to do is grow. Certainly plenty of rain to get it off to a good start.

You are a great example to young people in particular, great work ethic, it's just my view that a lot of farmers make a mistake in picking stones of land is stones keep warmth and soakage in land.

Oh ya we've had far better weather. The rain has just skipped us down here for pretty much the whole summer so we can't complain. We usually get hit with all the bad weather

Great video, that 390 looks in really good condition 😊. Isn't it funny tho ... In these days of modern tech .... I love the way that , a piece of string comes out the back of the cab , pulls the lever , and it allows the red stone cart ( not sure exactly what to call it lol )....to tip the stones. Brilliant 👍👍

I did nothing but smile through that video Karen, it was a fantastic video a great variation of tractors and machinery all working together to get the job done. Hope you got the rain you needed to start the growing process and I can see just how much you enjoyed yourself doing this kind of work the smile on your face said it all. Maybe one day you may invest in a little loader, loader tractor or old telehandler just to save you doing so much heavy lifting. As you know from having the everun theirs so many different attachments that just makes life a hell of a lot easier. Can't wait to see the growing process of the field and the lovely mix you've chosen to grow. No more horrible rushes yey 😂

Keep the wheels straight means on tractor is same as tracking the wheels I saw the comment up she have only one power steering ram pity she be putting from one wheel all the time
