I loved this video! I just bought the soy lite and wax melter with the spout. It’s been awesome for me. I’ve used the double boiler method for so long and even with a fan on My paint is chipping from my ceiling. 😂. This is a game changer. Thank you also for the microwave stand idea!!! I’ve also been using the pot on my counter with my garbage underneath. Thank you for your content! I really really appreciate you sharing your knowledge!!💕
Yay so glad it’s been working well for you!! Thank you for watching ❤️
I got a presto pot for Christmas and CANNOT wait to use it! Thanks for this video and tips! So helpful 🤗
Yay that’s awesome!! Enjoy! ☺️
I still haven't gotten a presto pot for my candle making needs. I'm gonna jump on board because the double boiler method at this point is too slow.
Thank you Erica for this! I am wondering how you are weighing the wax. Does the high temperature of the wax damage or affect the scale?
So informative 🙏💕
Wanting to know how to go about making multi scented 🕯
I really don’t understand why can’t we use a regular pot that we heat on the oven
it's much safer melting wax without using a naked flame under the pot, but it's up to you really
@@dennisb5319 and the presto no flame?
The presto pot has no flame, it’s all electric. If you want to just use a double boiler you are able to use the stove top (or a portable electric burner like I showed in the photo in the video) but the presto pot is just more efficient-but it’s up to you!
Hi Erica, thank you very much for your video, it’s super helpful. I just bought one of these but can’t use it yet because I don’t have a pouring pitcher (I thought I’d be able to add it to the pot). I think I’ll also need a heatproof scale to weight the melted wax, right? I used to weight the dry wax before so I’ll have to adapt. Thanks a lot.
Great video! I'm collecting my items to eventually get started. I have 2 presto pots thus for. Got one from my hubby as a Christmas gift! Lol he's paying attention. 😊
I just started in the candle making industry and you have been my holy grail🙌🏼 thank you!
Same!!!!!
This was sooo helpful! I'm jist getting my business started and wanted to know what the best melter would be and the pros and cons. You were so helpful and detailed. Thank you for explaining this to us!
Ahhh! Erica! I started watching you a year ago and can’t believe how good you’re doing now! Your vids are so amazing! I literally don’t have any criticism since you’re content is perfect, so keep going!!
Aww Nikki! That’s soo sweet! Thank you so much! 🥰❤️
And i was thinking how much electricity will take, because its on every day🙄
I have a question. If you keep the lid on the Presto pot, doesn't condensation build up and drip into the wax?
No not at all :)
Hola Erica soy de mexico queria preguntar si la marca de la olla solyte es mejor que poner una llave a la presto gracias
I really enjoyed video how do I work the spout on the pot the lever is not moving?
Thank you so much for this video! Is there any issue with leaving unused wax in the pot to re-solidify? For example, can I put in 2 lbs of wax but maybe only use 1 lb and leave the rest for next time? Does melting/re-solidifying the wax a few times cause any problems? I hope this makes sense. lol
I haven’t had any issues- I do this all the time :)
Iv been making candles for a while. And debated getting a presto pot. Till I saw one of your other videos where you explained how much time you saved once you got one. I finally got one and got it today in the mail and so look forward to using it this evening. Thank you so much for being so helpful in everything you do!!!
So...I can't get hold of a presto cooker as am in the UK. I found a slow cooker with temperature up to 250 degrees. Will this be OK? Thank you so much 😃
Another great video. Are you looking for an investor.
where did you buy you wax metler?????
Perfect timing for this video. I just bought one without the spout last week n haven't used it yet lol.
Hello. Thank you so much for your videos 🤗❤ i just bought a presto pot for wax. It takes long time to scoop wax out i think 😃
On beginning i put my temp at 8. Didn't make big difference for a while. So i put on 12. I saw its really melting, but temp was 94. I was ooohhhh noooo😅 i turned down to 7. After temp gets like 80. So i had to heat up a bit again. Its playing a lot. I never know what temp is and have to keep checking. Is it how it works?
Im doing pillar candles. So i pour 6 bubble candles and they were disaster🤯 had horrible frosting looks even damaged. Not sure why? Can be because of temp? Was 94 so its a lot for soy wax. How do you operate this soup pot?
@MemoryBoxCandleCo please help🙏
You are unreal... so AMAZING at explaining and just telling everyone what you know! You definitely are a teacher. Thank you for all of these videos. I just quit my corporate job and starting something I have always wanted to - a candle business! Thank you SO much!
Great video! I learned a lot. You got to the point quickly. Enjoyed the bloopers! lol
Does the spout get clogged?
Hello! Such informative info, thank you.
How long can soy wax actually stay *safely* in a presto pot to be reused?
One day, two days etc. Thanks
how do you clean them
It's probably already mentioned here, but there's so many comments since this video is a year old so I'm gonna ask it again. Why never add FO inside the warmer??
Because then you are essentially designating that melter to just that one scent. If you only sell one scent then that works! If not, then you will need to buy a presto pot for each scent, or you will need to continuously use all the wax in the melter and clean it out for a new scent (not efficient)
Where did you buy your stand for the presto pot?? Been looking everywhere 😩 ps love your channel
Excelente!, esperamos pronto poder tener subtitulos en español !! Genial!!
Haha!! Love the bloopers! I’m also experimenting with coconut wax. I’m doing 50 percent coconut and 50 percent soy. I have to get a presto. Lol
Hi the link from the 8qt presto pot is not working. Do you have another one? 😍
Hi! Here’s another one ❤️
amzn.to/3aZuCQX
Hi hon if you have wax left over in the pot, do you leave it there until next time and then add more to it when you want to make more candles next Time?
I loved the bloopers at the end by the way! The lid falling off definitely made me laugh as it’s the kind of thing I do all the time! 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol! And yes to your question :)
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo ah that’s awesome thanks hon! That really does make things so much easier, I think I will have to invest in one some time soon!
My dad made ma presto pot with a spout !
Best ever
I got the one without the spout. I am not handy and it's cheaper
Whoop whoop it's Memory Box Saturday!
Such good content! I'm always trying to learn new things for my small candle side hustle! Might need to get a Presto Pot now as I currently use the double broiler method
It’s so worth it!!
I have recently gotten into candle making and you have inspired me to start a RUclips channel! I am really enjoying your videos !!
Wish we could get these in the UK
i have two, one with a spout and one without. best purchases i ever made. The one with the spout i got on etsy.
Can you overheat wax in a presto pot ? Like can you the actual wax burn ? Like for example putting wax on 220 degrees before pouring into pitcher
Thanks so much for the vid!! I am considering getting one. I have a question though, how do you clean the spout? I guess the wax that comes out of there eventually solidifies when done. Does it melt again with the heat when in use? (😳😅 sorry for the long question)
The pot and spout heat up and there’s no clogs :)
I just got a presto pot for myself for christmas and it has been game changing!
This video came at such the perfect time! Was literally thinking about it getting one and I’m sure this is a sign😅picking mine up later on today 🥰
Yessss you won’t regret it! ❤️
Great info. I've been wondering, before I begin to use my year old presto pot, do I have to continuously stir as the wax melts down? I usually do it with the double boiler method.
I bought my presto pot today at Walmart for $34 no spout 10 quart
Nice!!
I loved the ending of the video 😂❤️ Thank you for such a detailed review!
😅 and you’re welcome!
Literally have been trying to find the difference between the prestos and the wax melters ohhh my god and forgot you made a vid on this.. awesomeee work
The end of this video was too cute lol Super informative, thanks for sharing. I'm buying one right now
Thank you for this video because it answered my questions now I will order a Presto pot
Hi Erika (I hope you write it like so, sorry if not)!
I'm watching this video from Europe because I'd like to do candles as my wedding gift and unfortunately I can't find any kind of presto pot in my country. Shipping cost from out EU to my country is too high and I'd like to buy it on Amazon so if there is any issue I cand send it back. It seems here you can only buy slow cooker or instant pots.
I've found some soup kettles that may do the trick, you think it can work?
Also: when you melt the wax you cover it with the lid? Can't create a condensation of water that could drop and ruin the wax?
Thanks for sharig, I really love your channel!
Thanks for this and the other videos; they have been helpful and informative. Just curious, why you don't seem to have mounted the handles on the presto pots.? To save room in your work area, I am guessing.?
Personally love the spout so easy
I ordered mine, so excited!
Yay! ☺️
The recommendation for beeswax is a double boil. Soo... is the presto pot ok for beeswax or will it burn the beeswax?
Thank you for this video. I just bought the 6 qt and it will be here tomorrow. All of your videos are so helpful to me and I can't wait to officially start my candle business. Quick question: Which size box do you ship your tin candles in? Thank you! 😊
I got the 6 qt myself. Used it the first time yesterday. It works like a dream.
Great video! What wax do you use? Do you think the coconut soy wax is a good choice?
I use soy but coconut soy is a great choice!
Hey Erica where do you get you metal jars with wooden lids I can’t find those anywhere
Really the best video EVER!! 😀 Thank you! Good information and it made me smile at the end
Thanks, new subbie I shall return with plenty of questions. We are 😂 with you!!
How long do you leave wax in there for? If you have left over wax after you make candles do you cut it off with wax in it then remelt the wax?
Erica, that 1st question was suppose to be... how many hours max do you leave the wax in the presto pot with it on for? If you have left over wax, even if you had to take an hour or two break between making candles, what's the max amount of time you think it will be ok for left on (of course if your staying home to watch it)?
Honestly I’ve left it on for 4-5 hours before! As long as it’s not too hot the wax should be fine!
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo awesome! Thank you so much! I just started using it about an hour ago to get my embeds made n it is so much easier so far!
Hey,thank you so much for information. It was usefull. Can you please make a video on how to manage wax when you stay in cold region. I don't have centrally heated home and when I pour my wax from prestopot to pitcher the temperature drops instantly and not enough time to mix frangrance oil and dye to it(wax tries to solidify).Same problem with cooling process ,wax shrinkage is too much due to fast cooling process of cold climate. Thank you ,God bless
You could pour that big pot with no spout into the one with the spout, when the one with a spout runs out.
So with either pot, how do you measure out your correct amount? For example, if I’m making 4 10 oz candles with 2 different scents, how do I accurately measure my amounts when pouring OUT of the pots?
Thank You for sharing!
Lol I love this video and the bloopers 🥰🤣
😁😆
Awesome video… thanks for the laugh at the end🙌💓
Hey! do you (or anyone ) have a recommended wax for 9 oz jars? I have no hot throw with 464. :(
Thanks, Erica! I may have missed it, but how many pounds of melted wax does the 6 qt pot hold? Thanks!
Is it safe to wash the pot in the sink? Afraid to clog from build up of wax
where can i get those wick holders (the white rings shown on top of your vessels)?
Another great video, I have watched most of your videos as i am thinking of starting a business candle making they were very useful
Hey love why do you need the portable electric burner.
How do you know how much to pour into the pitcher if you have more wax in there than you need?
Hi Erica, Could you please share how to set free shipping on Etsy.
I just create a shipping setting and title it “free shipping” and set the amount to $0 for the USA and I choose to charge a certain amount for international shipping
This video just answered a question i asked on another video. Thank you!!
I don’t even make candles and I watch these videos. I’m here to support.
So sweet!! Thank you so much!
your blooper moments made me smile
I laughed with you at the end 😂💜💜 I really love your channel I been binge watching for 3 days now, I also subscribed to your checklist today💕💕💕 super excited!!
Oh yayyy!! Welcome! So glad to have you ☺️
How do you do candle repours
Thank you so much for this video. Helped a lot.
Erika you are Amazing Your Videos and Some of the beginning Class I have taken make me feel like a Boss
I love that! 😅 Thank you so much!
I love bloopers! Lol I just had some in my foil video!. Thank you for the presto pot info!! I'm going to start saving for one now
Haha! 😆 awesome I hope you love it!! ❤️
Can you just use a slow cooker?
Do you still have to measure the wax you gonna use with these?
Love your videos! How long do you let your candles cure in order to achieve a strong HT?
I like your white shelves, where did you get them? Please respond with a link if possible 🙏.

❤️
Is it OK to not use the entire thing of wax and let it cool. Am I able to use the same pot of wax for a couple of days?
Yes :) I do that all the time!
What if we do put the scent in the pot and use it that way? What will happen?
I personally would recommend to not do that ❤️ you would have to know the exact amount of fragrance to use with how much weight you have put into the pot, you would have to make sure you are CLOSELY regulating the temp, you are limited to only using one FO, there’s just so many negatives haha
For the Presto Pot with the pouring spout, have you had any issues with it clogging and if so, what is the best way to clean the inside of the spout?
Nope never! Because as soon as the pot heats up, so does the spout! Never had an issue
The bloopers were hilarious! 😂😂😂
So I'm a little confused. You said to start the pot off at a low temp but then you said that you keep it around 200. Do I turn my knob all the way to 200 when I put in the soy wax? Also, can the pot be used for Gel Wax candles as well? Love your videos and all the info, thank you!
it depends on how much wax is in the pot! start off at a low temp and keep checking it to see if you need to turn it hotter :)
and I’ve never worked with gel wax so I’m not too sure ❤️
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo got cha, thank you!!! You have no idea how helpful your videos are. I got the pot bc of you lol.
Great video! I am learning so much from you!
I’m so glad to hear that ☺️
the fact that your lid fell off when my book fell down is funny!
Hah! 😄
I had to give a like for the bloopers at the end 😹😹😹
Lol thank you Hanna!! I just had to include them 😅
thank you for the video and oh my goodness i need more bloopers of you in my life lol
Haha thank you so much!! 😅
If you had to start over, which would be the first presto pot you would get? What size/with or without spout?
I would choose the 8 qt one with the spout ☺️
Oooh good to know, thank you!
I got a Presto pot for Christmas and can't wait to use it. Question: If you end up not using all the wax in your pot, can it be left in there and reheated for next time? Thanks so much for all your fantastic content! :)
Yes absolutely! Enjoy your pot :)
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo Thanks so much!
Couldn't see the link...
The links are at the top of the description :)
Thank you. You are gorgeous
