The Story is KEY!!!: Imagine watching the food network. You're watching someone cook for their family in their kitchen! You're not continuing to watch because of the food. You're reacting to the story of the chef and his/her family! Great Video!
In U.K. marketing terms, The Dream Duo!!! What I’d give to get 30 minutes with these amazing guys! There is simply no one comes close to the knowledge and business acumen of this duo. Thank god for the internet. Much love from the U.K. x
The advice they gave you was priceless, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this, the question you asked will help so many others. I think you should be very proud of yourself. Wishing you every success, love from the U.K.
Chandler Lyles oh wow, I’m so pleased it helped you. That said I think what you have achieved on your own is pretty damn amazing. I was very impressed by you. Keep doing you x
You know an interview is good when you keep checking how much longer it has to run... hoping all the time you are only halfway through it! Thank you Gary - again. Not only inspirational but so solid and so practical. Gotta love this guy! Agree entirely ( and we are in the UK too ) with Anna's Cottage ...what a dream duo indeed!
This stuff just blew my mind... how you guys come up with these tips is insane. best piece you released so far Gary .. Chandler rocks too .. tnx guys .. very inspiring.
This video is awesome. As a local marketer who targets restaurants, I've been preaching these strategies for years. Unfortunately, too many restaurant owners just don't get it. Heck, in my area I can't even get them to try email marketing. 😁
Jon Taffer has the best book out there for opening a bar. It’s called Raise the Bar. Highly recommended for any of you interested in opening a bar or restaurant.
Thanks Gary! This was one of the best video summaries of, how to win with SOCIAL you may have ever done and I have been watching you for a hell of a long time! Loved the, how to with Social strategy but the wrapping paper around the industry techniques and statistics that drives the sale in the restaurant business was a home run! Forwarded this on to my Marketing team and others ASAP. Thanks again for the FREE content. BUY SHOES, BUY BOOKS, BE THANKFUL, best advice in the industry.
I'm delighted to watch the show from Dubai. it was indeed a very good advise not only to Mr. Chandler but also to our restaurant business here in this part of the world. I'm totally subscribing to your channel. More power and now an avid fan here.
This guy's business must have blown up. I love seeing business owners actually accepting advice. I'm a 22 year veteran in the industry and the number one thing that I see causing reataurants to fail is ego. Owners and managers aren't willing to listen to their workers suggestions. Each restaurant has kids who could handle the social media so much better and servers/bartenders who know how to handle aspects of business based on gauging customer reactions for years. Often those people are treated more harshly however, again due to who.
Another great video Gary! I appreciate all of ur content and how hard you work. I’m currently working on my $10k per month journey rn and I couldn’t do it without your help. Thank you very much! Keep up the grind 💯 Does anyone else here think Gary is one of the most helpful youtubers?!
Omg i need to share this video with my business partners! I had like 2 or 3 similar ideas that were droped here but not NEARLY at the scale you guys described it at.
Man this guy missed a huge marketing opportunity just by saying "i own a bbq restaurant in kentucky" Should have saod "i own a bbq restaurant NAMED XYZ on X street in this city." Always drop the name of your business when your already getting free exposure.
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots, in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate, this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days, menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
Also, that dude should take examples from the industry. For BBQ example consider "SaltBae". Like it or not it is a perfect example of using social media.
Say everyone gets a regular white napkin as they come in and get their drink. The bartender sees a face he hasn't seen before and sets down a red napkin instead. Because of staff training beforehand, all the staff managers and staff know that the red napkin means first time customer so they make sure to treat them as VIP so that he gets a great first impression. And before he leaves the manager gives him a promotion on a business card, and when he brings that in, it's clear it's he's there for a second time. Jon was saying the goal was to get 4 favourable repeat visits to increase the odds that he will become a regular. I hope this helps!
I've watched this one a few times, and I'm still curious where the statistics come from. 40% the first time. 70% the third. Where are such accurate numbers found?
Get some big eaters to come in and do a challenge. Even simpler get someone to do a Mukbangs featuring your bbq. That will make ppls mouth water and draw them in.
3 things and thats all you need 1 good food 2 reasonable prices and 3 quick In n out burger has a few items hamburg cheeseburger and double cheeseburger and fries and drinks but they always have a line a good presentation is very important my products people put in their social media without me asking them to because its a wow factor and the flavor and my 3 criteria is crucial after 1 year you don't need to advertise
Have you guys noticed that : eating out is very difficult and expensive. in an area, typically, you might find an outlet selling pizza, you might sometimes find a restaurant in which meals are quite expensive, and that's it. Here you barely have : very few foods, and they are expensive You can eat almost nothing, Do you guys see ? This model is very inefficient Eating out is nearly impossible Something is definitely missing it is : a restaurant where food keeps changing, food changes every day Chefs also rotate A meal is going to be cheap You get new foods every day. Helluva Throwback here. I remember watching this clip years ago. I told every spot inwas in since about these nuggets and none of them ever bit. I might not be a restaurant but better believe I'm coming to absolutely annihilate this shit. Much love, one love. Stay Passionate! Chef Chris Martin
Can anyone point me to a source backing up the claim at 8:35 that +1 customer per month = 12-15% increase in revenue? There is a lot of great advice here but this number is seemingly pulled out of the air and then not qualified in any way...
I know right! if i was to say the same thing to my clients they would be like "what a load of bs, how did you get that figure?" but as soon as someone with reputation pulls figures out of their ass no one seems to ask any questions.
That number is an estimated guess. it's not about +1 customer (i did understand that differently) It's about frequency, this means customers who he already has which visit one more time per month. I guess he just made an estimate for example, if he makes 1.000.000 per year, that's about 80.000 per month, 20 $ per customer, so that guy has 4000 customers, out of 4000 customers, 400 will be regulars, if he can get 400 more "regulars" or 400 more visits ("frequency") from his regulars per month that would be 400 x 20 x 12 = 96000 dollar per year which is 9,6% increase. So you would need to know which numbers that guy used but he is correct about that. Or maybe i did not understand him correctly but yes, he was very vague. To me that's the only explanation i can think of.
@12:42, John says give out 100 coupons for a rib dinners to customers that have never been to your restaurant. How do you know if they’ve ever been to your restaurant while you’re giving away free coupons?
Same problem… are you OK with 100 of your regular customers just coming in and eating cheaper? How do you know you are targeting potential new customers?
How casually John builds out a whole customer acquisition funnel for that guy on the fly fascinates me. You can tell that this guy know his craft.

It's likely that most restaurant owners don't realise there is room for marketing improvement, so they're not looking it up sadly
Anthony J Damico that’s exactly why we should start social media marketing services. They need us and they don’t know it

Say everyone gets a regular white napkin as they come in and get their drink. The bartender sees a face he hasn't seen before and sets down a red napkin instead.
