Audit | Carlsberg Brewery | It's Unlawful To Film People On Our Site 🎥❌🥴

- Опубликовано: 16 дек 2021
- Today we take a look around Carlsberg Jacobsen House, 140 Bridge St, Northampton NN1 1PZ.
We find the staff shop and get told that filming is not allowed on site by security.
We look around for the sign which he mentions and also take a walk around the whole perimeter.
We then take the drone over and finish off back at the start with a different security staff who tells us that filming people on the Carlsberg site is against the law.
Enjoy!

CARLSBERG; Probably the best-uninformed security IN THE WORLD

Haha lol.
I love people talking about their right not to be filmed while standing next to a sign that says the area is being filmed by CCTV
That was hilarious. The only sign about filming was literally telling people they will be filmed lol.
it's bit hard not to stand next to a camera really.
Carlsberg probably employs the worst security in the world
Not probably. Absolutely Do
@@Sir_Richard_Stewart ah, bless you. You don’t quite get the joke do you? Look at the Carlsberg advert strap line. You’re welcome.
@@sarahtaylor7737 I got it. I just added my own. You didn't get it.
You are Welcome !
Love it! HeHeHe! xx
@@Sir_Richard_Stewart It's a play on words of the famous Carlsberg British tv adverts, in which the caption is, "Carlberg, probably the best lager in the world!" xx
These are the sort of people that lie to assert authority which the do not possess. Not good the way you let him virtually push you away like that. He's now convinced he's 'dealt' with you. I can just imagine him going back in and saying "I just saw him off".
That story wont lose anything in the telling, that's for sure.
Love the line, "So the car park can be used by male AND females, That's nice of 'em" Made my day, thanks DJ. Also think that security guard is a relic of an old South Africa
There is a logic behind the parking rules to do with embedded and non embedded staff. Sarcasm is a bit of a fail.

I have walked past it thousands of times. First time I’ve seen inside from above. Thank you DJ
He is correct that he can ask you not to film him, but there’s nothing saying that you have to comply with his request though
Just been to my local supermarket to stock up with beer for Christmas and the New Year. Guess which beer I did NOT get. Display a blend of arrogance, ignorance and disregard for members of the public and you pay the price
I’m surprised carlsberg was even a consideration prior to this.
They do other brands as well. So you are still giving them money indirectly.
@@luciocosta7433 What are the other brands? I would happily boycott all of them based on this shoddy performance of the company
@@Oceans_Sail It's all crap like Kronenbourg, Tetleys, Tuborg, Holsten.

@@Grizzly01 very true!
Anyone remember the advert that claimed Carlsberg was "So good, the Danes hate to see it leave."? They must have really good eyesight to be able to see it leaving Northampton since 1973.
When people are unsure of what they're doing and saying they run away and hide. That guard was talking out of his a$$ and he knew it.
When he learns you flew a drone over his precious site, he'll blow for sure! Excellent Audit!

you should stand your ground, don't let ppl push you away.
Good video, just wish you'd stood your ground as the Security guard walked forward with his hand up, glassy eyed and slightly wobbly on his feet. Still amazed how little SIA trained staff know about GDPR.😲
He was on their land, he wasn't properly asked to leave though, it was a bit 50/50 and not worth getting into a scuffle over imho

So nice to hear this comment 👍
It's a shame that the south African security guard didn't learn our laws before coming to live in our country.🇬🇧

Please don't ask me questions, because I have no idea what I'm talking about !!
I'd expect better more educated security staff from a large company like that!
they usually don't handle the general public in these areas very directly.. so theyve been under the radar for a lonngg time... till utubers
Probably.
The security could be subcontracted out to someone like G4S. Carlesberg probably think their security know what they are doing but in reality they haven't got a clue and are poor representatives of the organisation. The one doing the walker sign really should be reported along with the video evidence.
I worked in security for over 20 years these so called security personnel wouldn't of lasted 5 mins on the security teams I worked for. Absolute disgrace
13:30 Razer wire can be used on fences. But it must never be installed below 1.8m (6'). And as well as being above 1.8m signs must be posted regularly, about every 5m, along the fence.
It's not ilegal. Prisons put razor wire below 1.8m and even on the floor outside fence lines.
They just pay the fine each month.
I used to work for a fencing company that did contracts for the Prison service, MOD, government and royalty premises.
It's only a bylaw. Not ilegal.
people who try to bluff their knowledge of the law are just the best watch
you mean ITS POLICE LAW!!!
In my opinion, you are the leader in this type of documentary; your drone footage is excellent - thank you.

I’ve never understood why people care about being filmed. I’m regularly filmed on duty by people who think it’s going to wind me up. It doesn’t, I couldn’t care less.
They might view you as a nuisance, but their behaviour was bad, especially the one doing the w@nker sign at you. Not sure why you didn't object to that and literally being forced backwards by the 2nd hostile?
If you can not film the site and the workers from a public place then neither can Prince Charles, Boris Johnson or Lewis Hamilton.
It’s amazing how crazy people get when being filmed, you literally get filmed everyday when you walk the streets or go in a shop lol
There was no filming Back in the 70’s
@@AndersMcTee mmm but then if I saw someone recording and I didn't like it, I wouldn't approach. Simple logic
@@AndersMcTee but even taking that as the truth for everyone, then logic dictates you of course have the freedom of will to go up to said person (if you feel safe to do so) and ask. If you get the answer accept it, if you don't understand the answer accept it. If you don't like to be continually filmed, walk away. At this point, everyone knows what a camera does (see below)
Cameras built into everyone's phones is a modern construct in society (you could argue), therefore it's ok not to fully understand its implications. However we as humans have logic and decision making, freedom of will to choose.
I like to think of it like smoking, I don't smoke and hate the smell. If I see someone smoking I don't question their life decisions or choices, so I don't need to walk up to them to tell them to stop. I just simply move away.
Eventually cameras and people doing what people want to do will have to sink into the social construct humans have created.
@@AndersMcTee and that fills the narrative I painted above. People will ultimately still film, and people will still smoke... But accepting it and letting it be, is, in its wider context the essence of integrating as human beings.
Well Mannered Auditor and i like your interaction, a shame a few others don’t follow your respectful attitude
Why did you retreat at the end?

The drone sequences are superb 👌👌👌
As an employee at the site I can say that I enjoyed the aerial shots but the confrontational bits are extremely annoying. Would this guy enjoy random strangers peeping over his fence, questioning the kids and looking through his windows? At the end of the day he's filming private people that may have a problem being identified or recognised. There's just no need.
Great footage. It’s bigger than I thought it was.
Why back up at the end? You should've just stood still and see if they actually put hands on you.
It wasn’t worth it, I was on their land and he seemed unstable (drunk) 🤣🤣🤣
Good video upload again dj audits great videos you do like how calm and collective you really are with your audits towards others brilliant that is really because some other auditers go mad like keep the videos coming cheers 👍
Interesting amount of soot (fork truck exhaust) on the roof of the bottling plant. I used to take and strip the bottle pallets a little onto the Burton Upon Trent plant back in the day before Coors took over. Now they manually lift the pallets onto the feed loaders, back in the day we used to put them onto a feeder, all 20 pallets . Hard job and the cost of a pallet falling over back then was a £1000 a pallet. We used to have to graffed to pick up spilled pallets.
Data protection act for commercial businesses but not for private men & woman? Ha! That is a joke.
Good stuff.
Could you do a vid about the claims you're doing, if any, regarding GDPR against a company(for photos etc) or any Civil Claim(against a police force), please?
I'm interested in progression of claims
Noted.
Enjoyed this mate great drone at the end shame one guard tried to spoil it well done keep up the good work
Thanks 👍
I counted two guards who wasnt kind.
The building was designed by Knud Munk, almost had a heart attack when I saw it! Industrial architecture at it's best, so glad you audited this site.
Most Industrial buildings which have lots of glass installed, is to provide a weak point in it's structure, in the case of a flash over, because of the materials being processed may create a lot of fine dust particles, which can ignite and cause an explosion
another great tour with brilliant aerial footage😎😁
On the tour of Carlsberg brewery in Copenhagen, the tour guide said that the yeast used was stolen by Carlsberg way back when???? Todays yeast still comes from the original stolen one.
This is a classic mistake where they dont clearly sign the legal boundary between public and private land, so up to the point of barriers ( that would hinder a normal person) it is public highway .
They dont want people hanging around in the apron area, put a sign up, or put up with it.
PS the bottles are made in Royston Barnsley glass factory.

If the gate on the canal leads to the railway, maybe it was when coal, ores, farm produce or may of the other items that was transported along the canals, was moved around the country on canals, so they could get it closer to the trains to be loaded/unloaded, just my thoughts on it.
So you can film Buckingham Palace but the beer workers are off limits!! Got it!!

I didn't see anyone with hard hats on.
They can't even follow their own rules.
They have a sign that says please obey all the signs. ha
Carlsberg Probably the ugliest Brewery in the world.
I see they've gone for that Berlin Wall look .
I worked here for a while. Good place to work at. No complaints from me. Officially you're entitled to two 30 minute breaks over a 12 hour shift. But where i worked, we looked out for each other and we were able to take a 20 minute break every 40 minutes. Taking the extra breaks didn't hold up production at all.
So we would unload full kegs from the production line and load them onto an empty trailer. At the same time someone else would unload empty kegs from a trailer back onto the production line to be filled up.
The 3rd guy would be on break. He was supposed to be re-gassing the kegs and tying down the kegs on the trailer but they employed agency workers to do that and that's why we went on break every 40 minutes.
No complaints what so ever about working there. I worked in the yard loading and unloading lorries and re-gassing kegs. Very nice free coffee as well. Forgot to mention that.
Having seen how Carlsberg employees treat people there are now at least 20 ex drinkers of their products. Hope many more boycott them.

I worked in that very gatehouse as security back in 2007 when I was 19. It was my first job after education, and back then I thought it'd be brilliant, and I'd work my way up into management and the people would be great etc. Good lord was I mistaken. It was the most soul crushingly miserable place one could conceive of. There were a couple of old school security blokes who were sound, but overall I found myself surrounded by angry, power hungry men (and a woman, she was the worst funnily enough), in a nasty security office that reeked because we held all the samples from the trucks. 12 hour shifts, 7 shifts straight, of pure depression. The one restbite was when I'd do the 2 hr full site patrol, including inside Jacobson house and in the power room (visible at 23:10 in your video) etc. Funnily enough, I remember walking past the boss's Maserati in the car park most days and realising that life could be better than this. I stuck it out for about 4 months before going back to education, and actually ended up doing my pilot's licences before securing a job with an airline aged 24. Never looked back, and it proves that the only person who can keep you in a bad place is yourself. There's always a way out if you have the willpower.
Well done mate 👍
Do they know how stupid they look when they start spouting off about GDPR and rights not not be filmed? Makes great content to put on RUclips for even more people to see them.
How come they discriminate against male contractors when it coms to using the car park? Surely that's never legal?
It's a lot worse than that. Our government discriminates by having an FGM Act while leaving males utterly unprotected. DJ Audits needs to head over to NSPCC HQ and interrogate them.
There is a sign saying women can park in a certain place for their safety as a while ago there was a man watching for women walking to their cars in the dark. They have a priority place in a brighter part of the car park for their safety and comfort :)

The company beer store is about theft prevention.
I know that site. Public footpath goes around the back of it. Canal towpath also.

Know someone that used to work for jTi the tobacco company and they got 500 free cigs a month to stop employees stealing them, he didn't smoke but used to sell them to the lads in the breakers yard for about half retail price.
Security staff have just done a load of training & all need CCTV licences which contains all the GDPR regs so he should be clear on the protocol!!
Really Informative videos! It's great how you teach people how to do the job they're supposed to be employed to do lol
Very interesting seeing the site, not as big as I had imagined. Do they have another site in Northampton or is this the only one?
By the way the if you had waiting for them to pull the curtain back on the trailer it would have told you where the bottles were from :)

When I was an apprentice metal-worker I was doing a job in a brewery, there was me another apprentice and a tradesman... anyway, everyday you worked there you got an allowance of 2 bottles/cans that you collected when leaving the job on a Friday, however because me and the other apprentice were under 18 we couldn't actually be given the cans but the tradesman we were working with was able to pick-up our allowance, so he used to pick-up 30 cans on a Friday and give us fuck-all, the shite-bag.
i used to drive for malcolms and i know that the bottles were made by quinn glass in elton cheshire . i am pretty sure they have changed their name now but you can easily research that

It's such a common misconception that you need someone's permission in order to film them. Which if you stop to think about it for a few seconds, to really think through the implications of that, wouldn't make any sense whatsoever.
So why do so many people come out with this claptrap? Because they're frightened / paranoid , brainwashed sheep, that can't think logically for themselves?
